Teac A3440 was my gateway drug. I need to update so this Tascam Model 12 is a logical modern update.
Can you play back tracks that you transfer to your DAW while still laying down tracks on the Model 12? For example, record all the drums and then transfer them to free up tracks.
I really like the idea for this product. From my experience 10 tracks can be a bit limiting. Hopefully it allows for track merging/bouncing?

Does it work well with a drum machine via MIDI ? Very slapdash run through.
Need Help on the Built-In Effects. As I record tracks and use an F/X , Why when I playback, I don't hear the Mix with the Effects? I have Bounced the tracks , DRY to other Tracks and only then I hear any effects. Simple Question, Is the Initial Recording to say Tracks 1 and 2 as example going to PLAYBACK without effects until it is Bounced / Mixed Down.. Hope I did not Confuse. Sure would like to talk / call someone on this.
Don't u have to set up I the menu where you want the signal to hit? Like pre eq or pre compression whatnot?

that 10 tracks in is the winner. I don't see another mixer that do more than 4 in.
there are Soundcraft mixers that do individual tracks, but they don't have the hui. I am sold on this.

even if this the less track one and more cheap the 0ther 2, i thank this the good 0ne case it has hi-z 0n all tracks where the 0ther ones 16,24 0nly 2. i know this is more digit and the 16,24 is more analog so what.

No . I found out after I bought it . Idk why it works for Logic and not GB . I wish they would update it so it did . So many use GB .
Somebody is working from home. It's all good though, we're all human and have families.
Tascam model 12 is nice but just not enough inputs. and the model 16/24 has a minus point and that is that the inputs and outputs are on the top, it would be nicer if the inputs and outputs of model 16/24 were on the backside.
I have a 24-I much prefer the inputs -outposts on top , as they are_

Tascam produced literature which they distributed to retailers who placed it on their sales pages where they made the false claim that this had an analog mixer and compressor. That false information is still on many websites as we speak. This is unforgivable. Yes the format is old school analog.. but knobs altering digital information is nothing new. Nothing that enters this machine leaves without being converted to digital even if used just as a live desk. You can forgive Tascam for only providing max 48khz conversion when also providing an analog eq/comp.. but not when the product is 100% digital. The recording editing features are also pathetic when taking into account its 100% digital. Regarding Daw automation..ask yourself why dont the E.Q controls work in a Daw ? They are digital so why not? However if they did then Tascams (Ta-scams) deception would be exposed. Its really quite incredible that Tascam did this especially as its part of a product series known for being analog. A lot of people can claim a full refund on this product if they wish due to false advertising.
