When I learned Dusty was going to sing one of my tunes I cried. It happened but it also took forever. She meanwhile got involved in a big-time confrontation with Phillips Records, had fallen into drugs and alcohol and I gave up any hope she'd ever record it. But I didn't give up on her personally. I knew she wasn't going to just quit because of "x", "y" or "z" and sure enough she didn't. Two years and severalmonths later, there it was..."See All Her Faces", title tune of the album no less. Damn! I should've been doing cartwheels but I shed a couple of tears of joy instead. If I never get another recording I won't care. Knowing that the individual who was my favorite singer of all times, male or female, I am good with that achievement forever. RIP Dusty and thank you so much.
What a thing to treasure forever, hearing Dusty sing a song you wrote, she was very particular about what she sang, the music had to touch her. Beautiful song, and album See All Her Faces.
Ive heard the, Rightous Brothers material referred to as, Blue Eyed Soul. Maybe we can all agree that deep emotions expressed in songs like this are universal to being, Human :)
If only she knew that hundreds of thousands of people are still listening to her singing and loving her music making even years after her passing. Totally Unique Dusty
I often wonder about that. She might have realized something towards the end of her career. In terms of what her musical legacy would be. Wish she had that insight around 1975, at age 35, when she probably thought her career was just about over. Bet life would have been easier for her. Thankfully, she had a couple of comebacks. In 1979 and of course from 1987 to the end of her life, she was back in the charts and content. Dusty always measured her success I think in terms of her recordings but also whether or not a record charted. After being on top of the world throughout the 1960's, from 1969 to 1979 her 4 LP releases were not promoted and didn't chart very well. Sadly some record companies folded right after she'd worked so hard to record an LP. It wasn't until 20 years after she recorded the Memphis LP that it started getting the credit it deserved. Better late than never. She was so ahead of her time and is timeless.
I love this version of this song. The way she phrases it and sings it is extraordinary. When she sings "and then a kiss, but more than this, I wish you love" i just melt
I do appreciate that some people on here want to concentrate on her physical beauty but I think it's more important to ask what made Dusty so much above other singers. And this was that everything she had and put was in the service of genuine feelings from the heart. Here she takes what are fairly trite lyrics if you actually saw them written or heard them from a not very good singer!!!- and the heartfelt feeling turns them into something else and you actually don't notice. x
OMG..You said it so well...I just cried all the way through the song..I ADORED her and that breathy, sensual voice that could swell into this throbbing passionate sound that embodied how we all feel at times....Even Aretha said she was one of her favorite singers..sad she is gone but glad that I got to hear her.
BRAVO -- what a wonderful song -- a song of letting go and moving on with no hard feelings -- when the snowfalls i wish you love ----- wow such feeling and emotions.
Well said! If I might add, she could own your heart with the sparkle in her eye or melt you with a gesture of her hand. She was more than a singer, she was an artist. I, for one, hope the biopic never happens. Too many people, especially new fans and younger folk, will take whatever is written or portrayed as "gospel". You can't capture all she was and what she meant to her fans in a two-hour movie. I fear it will prove a disservice to her. I prefer to love and adore the real Dusty.
Best version of this song I've heard so far. I like Nat King Cole's version as well, but Dusty Springfield's version has a depth and a soul you cannot find easily. It really resonates with me.
Ms. Springfield defined elegance for me and such love and grace and to me she is well missed and today many are resorting back to her songs and we are so glad for that keep her memory alive.
as others have said, this is wonderful. Many people know about Dusty Springfield, but only a few of us know how well she could sing these standards--and her capacity to sing great jazz as well. There is a clip (not on youtube) in which she does a great duet with Mel Torme. Really great!
RECALLING THAT TIME IN,67 PAINTING HOUSES FOR A PAINTING CONTRACTOR WE KEPT OUR TRANSISTOR RADIOS NEAR BY TO HEAR DUSTY AND MANY OTHER GREAT PERFORMERS WHO FILLED THE 60,S WITH THEIR MAGIC !....////
She was all of that except an opera singer. She was the one and only, and I cannot think of another performer who comes up to her standards as a singer and a stylist.
How right you are flame. These female singers today couldn't hold a candle to Dusty. All the dancers and flashy stage productions can't hide mediocre or bad singing. Dusty just needed a mic, like you said.
Ríp N music for a wonderful ángel...from south of Spain.....too misty N so peacefully N very atnospehere wit her clever soft calm LOVELY music RIP dusty Springfield ❤
I love this song, and I love Dusty. This is the first time I heard her sing it. Bliss. Of course (though I might take the strings down in the verse a little)!
This song perfectly captures beautifully the feelings around a breakup I had so many, many years ago in my youth. This is the only recording I’ve come across of Dusty Springfield singing this song. I can’t seem to find the song in any of her albums. Anybody has better luck?
Like a lot of her songs from her TV show and other live appearances, she never recorded them in a studio for an album. I hope this makes it onto a compilation CD of all of her non studio recordings. I'd love it also if someone unearthed her singing Alfie, which she only performed live a few times.
What a wonderful memory. Watched it again and just noticed around 2:52 she walks into what could be thought of as the night sky with stars. Next a cloud surrounds her. Appropriate. She was a heavenly star.
Written By Charles Trenet and Lee Wilson. I wish you bluebirds in the spring to give your heart a son to sing. And then a kiss oh but more than this, I wish you love. He's about to break up with me, I can feel it. "My aching heart and I agree that you and I could never be, so with my best, my very best, I set you free."
A song sung with such tenderness...this isn't just a song, it's a treasure.
As well as a massive talent, she is so insanely beautiful here

One of my favourite Dusty songs too. Among many or course.
You wrote a beautiful song and how lucky to have it sung by a beautiful singer...
@Consuelo Patagonia WOW! I'm blown away!
This song is a treasure, and so was the lovely woman singing it. All my respect and wishing you love 💕
What a thing to treasure forever, hearing Dusty sing a song you wrote, she was very particular about what she sang, the music had to touch her. Beautiful song, and album See All Her Faces.
I WISH people still sang like this. So relaxing and soothing to the soul.
Blonde hair soul singer. Voice like satin. Wow!
MaryB.

One of the best singers that ever walked the earth! Thank you Dusty!!
Gorgeous,Unique and Unforgettable; the word "legendary" can honestly be applied to Dusty.
If only she knew that hundreds of thousands of people are still listening to her singing and loving her music making even years after her passing. Totally Unique Dusty

Really!! I'd say MILLIONS are still listening to her.
Millions upon millions and growing daily
I love this version of this song. The way she phrases it and sings it is extraordinary. When she sings "and then a kiss, but more than this, I wish you love" i just melt
Who in the sixties didn't love Dusty, she sang and the song became hers, If I'm still alive in 50 years I'll still be listening. RIP BEAUTIFUL LADY!!
But still a great performance! And a great voice...
Dusty Springfield was the best ever..Her performance with her heart warming songs was unmatched..Truly miss her , thankful to hear her music.
her delivery was unique. she was the country music singer we never had
Absolutley stunning in every way...the voice, the hair, the dress....there will never be another Dusty.
No one had a voice like her! A true original.
I googled Ms Dusty only because she is Robin Gibb's favorite female singer. Now I know why - she was indeed a captivating singer.
Robin Gibb had good taste.
And we wish you love, too, Dusty; that somewhere in the infinity of forever, you have found the love you truly deserved. Bless you, Mary
This clip always breaks my heart...but, I still love it. Does that make me a masochist?
A great arrangement and beautifully sung.

Dusty was the greatest, anytime, anywhere, poetry in motion.R.I.P sweet angel.
So remarkable ! Live performance with a 40 piece orchestra .. I'm immersed in her
Well said!

Well said. I don’t think any biopic could do her justice.
Best version of this song I've heard so far. I like Nat King Cole's version as well, but Dusty Springfield's version has a depth and a soul you cannot find easily. It really resonates with me.
Since I was 9 years old I have always enjoyed dusty springfield. She has such a beautiful and romantic voice.....
Amen! ... really grabs the heart doesn't it?
Can I have my country back to when it was nice? This is nice.
The first time I heard her (I Only Want to Be With You) I thought: where did this kid come from. What a voice. Born to sing.
Ms. Springfield defined elegance for me and such love and grace and to me she is well missed and today many are resorting back to her songs and we are so glad for that keep her memory alive.
I did not know that she sings this song.
Her voice is naturally distinctive.
Thank you for uploading.

All you have to do is to listen to that voice, and you know immediately, it's dusty.

How much I envie you, she wasn´t even from my time, and English is not even my first language. Yes, she brought us PURE MAGIC
I'd quite forgotten how great she really was ...
beautiful & timeless....
She was all of that except an opera singer. She was the one and only, and I cannot think of another performer who comes up to her standards as a singer and a stylist.
Beautiful song, beautiful face - thank you for the beauty, Dusty!
This classic has never sounded better than Dusty singing it. Her smooth, emotive, sultry voice tells a story, like an operetta in three minutes.
How right you are flame. These female singers today couldn't hold a candle to Dusty. All the dancers and flashy stage productions can't hide mediocre or bad singing. Dusty just needed a mic, like you said.
The irreplaceable, darling Dusty. I wish you all things wonderful. You are missed.
Adored her since the Springfields. Such a talent, such a loss....
Ríp N music for a wonderful ángel...from south of Spain.....too misty N so peacefully N very atnospehere wit her clever soft calm LOVELY music RIP dusty Springfield ❤

Transports a body, doesn't she? Takes you to another kinder and sweeter world.
yes, it takes me back when my mother was still with us. And she would be singing with Dusty Springfield. Great memory's.
What a wonderful memory. Watched it again and just noticed around 2:52 she walks into what could be thought of as the night sky with stars. Next a cloud surrounds her. Appropriate. She was a heavenly star.

Written By Charles Trenet and Lee Wilson.
I wish you bluebirds in the spring
to give your heart a son to sing.
And then a kiss oh but more than this,
I wish you love.
And in July a lemonade to cool you in some leafy glade.
I wish you health oh and more than wealth. I wish you love.
My breaking heart and I agree that you and I will never be.
So with my best my very best I am ‘ setn’ you free
Oh honey.
@Nicklas4500 . I saw it on tv a while back but unfortunately don't know where to locate it. I've certainly looked for it, but sadly without success.
Nadie como ella.
He's about to break up with me, I can feel it. "My aching heart and I agree that you and I could never be, so with my best, my very best, I set you free."
I Wish You Love
Goodbye, no use leading with our chins
This is where our story ends
Never lovers, ever friends
Goodbye, let our hearts call it a day
But before you walk away
I sincerely want to say
I wish you bluebirds in the spring
To give your heart a song to sing
And then a kiss, but more than this
I wish you love
And in July a lemonade
To cool you in some leafy glade
I wish you health
But more than wealth
I wish you love
My breaking heart and i agree
That you and i could never be
So with my best
My very best
I set you free
I wish you shelter from the storm
A cozy fire to keep you warm
But most of all when snowflakes fall
I wish you love
But most of all when snowflakes fall
I wish you love
I wish you love
I wish you love, love, love, love, love
I wish you love
