This is a great inspirational piece! Thanks for all the info too. That shot with two of you was brilliant. I loved the half makeup concept. That wins the award for “most resourceful “ shot!!

For a long time I've had ideas rolling around in my head that I feel can only be properly expressed through film, but as a medium it's always felt incredibly intimidating to try and get into compared to other media I do. Stumbling across this video has given me a ton of fresh inspiration, but also motivation to just go and try it even if its just myself with my decade old DLSR. Luckily enough I think a few of my ideas would lend themselves to solo filmmaking so maybe once I'm done with one of my current creative projects I'll get working on them

I’m so glad to hear that! I’d love to see what you create if you go for it!

I really want to. the only mental block now is "I have no story" I feel attracted enough to tell. I tell myself "What's the point of learning all the camera production and post-production skills if you're not going to use it on your own film that you need to make?" You gave some great ideas on locations creating conflict for characters. I really admire your determination to do it, and actually doing it. I am feeling personally like if I can't do it, if I can't write one myself, I gotta collaborate with someone who will, and then shoot it and finish it.

There’s a short film called “Film About” by Cameron Nicoll, i saw it at a film festival and I looked for a link for you but i couldn’t find it. It’s a documentary about his failed ideas to make documentaries. And it’s really entertaining. That in itself is a conflict that can explored in film. I hope you find an idea you’re ready to run with!

@@Cinorafilms Oh thank you! I will find it. That actually reminds me of the 2002 film "Adaptation" starring Nic Cage. That too is meta like that. Charlie Kaufman probably wrote that script having this exact same issue. I recommend watching it if you haven't.

the only thing i can think of making alone is stop motion. live action is too hard to make alone

Stop motion is a perfect medium for working alone! I've done this a couple of times.
