Anduin's debbie downer phase stems from him being tortured and forced to do evil during the Shadowlands expansion. Also that cool shadow monster has a companion pet AND a mount.
Yeah as dumb as shadowlands was, the Anduin side arc was good. The jailer basically mind controlled Anduin and fused Arthas' soul into the runeblade Kingsmourne. Anduin essentially, saw and experienced all of Arthas' transgressions in his mind. That's the main reason he's so fucked up mentally, and he feels that the Light will never accept him again.
@@itszouty as a new player you don't know a lot of the lore. If anything you should listen to a video of the story of Arthas. The rise and fall of Arthas is considered one of the best fantasy story arcs written. If you like lore, this game has a lot of it. Just skip shadowlands, it was kinda bad lol.
TIP: you can CTRL-right click to see what things look like so it makes it easier to pick what you want for quest rewards. Might be left click, its one of the clicks lol. That void thing you fought is also a battle pet you can get one in Argus in the legion expansion and they are not tradable so you will have to get one yourself.They are Void Shardling you can look them up in the warband collections.
Hi Zouty! If you haven't already, you should watch all the cinematic trailers on the official WoW channel. One of their absolute best and most visually-amazing is the Battle for Azeroth cinematic in which you get a glimpse of Anduin's bond with the Light. He is our king and a very good man, but after he was tortured and possessed in Shadowlands, he's lost faith in (and lost touch with) who he used to be. I've been playing since 2009 and have watched him grow up from a little prince, so seeing him like this is heart-breaking. I know he's strong enough to overcome it, though. ❤ Looking forward to the day you start pet battling. It's one of my total favorite things to do in WoW and I've collected almost 950 pets so far! :D You're gonna get SO addicted, lol. Have a great weekend! -Winnie

I love that you read the quests. Especially with that fish quest-line, I have a theory that it's hinting at future patch content about the Undersea. Or if nothing else, it's just fun to think about what lingers in the waters of Hallowfall beyond the reach of Beledar's light.
I 100% agree! I love the grind and gear and all that stuff about mmos of course, but I also love to escape into the story if I like the story. And I'm really enjoying this one! And it's cool to know there is SO much story in WoW that I have to uncover having never played it before.
You can listen to Npcs (like Anduid an Alleria) talk, if they have the talk option check in every now and then, theres optional "stay awhile and listen" dialogue that is voiced and is very nice but can be missed.

I can't wait for you to try your first raid instance, I remember my first feeling like the most epic thing I'd ever done in a video game. I would also recommend turning auto-loot OFF too. I find it helps me actually understand what I've picked up. You can appreciate the loot, gold, and important item drops a little more.

There are compilation videos on RUclips of all of the in-game cinematics for world of Warcraft typically it's trailer cinematics and then important relevant ones from the expansion. I believe it's about an hour and 20 minutes long at the moment, I would love to see you watch them as well as see your reactions to them as you watch them.
omg i got the gasping fish too but i was too distracted by the campaign. poor fish is still gasping in my bag for the past like 2 weeks now LOL just so you know, if you hold SHIFT when hovering over gear, it will automatically compare it to what you currently have equipped in that slot. makes it easy to tell if gear is good or not. Secondly, a quick gearing rundown: the Amount of stats on your gear depends on the item's Item Level. so quickly comparing 2 items, the one with the higher item level is generally better. particularly since most classes scale the best off Primary Stat (Strength, Agility, Intellect) all gear of the same item level generally has the same amount of Primary Stat (other than trinkets, which may have primary stat, may not. frequently their Effect will be more important than their raw stats / item level). each item also has Secondary Stats: (crit, mastery, haste, versatility) these are generally random combinations of stats, but again the total amount of stat is based on your item's Item Level. generally, each spec will have a priority for which secondary stats you prefer, but like the name implies, its secondary to Strength. even if an item has perfect secondaries, if its 15 item levels lower, its probably weaker. the guides online can tell you which secondaries you prefer (Wowhead and Icy Veins tend to be preferred guides. there's also a Discord Server for each class, that's where you can find the most up to date information before it gets formalized into guides. the authors of the guides are generally active on discord if you want to personally ask them questions. most of them are nice people!) there is also a chance that any gear can roll "tertiary stats" (things like move speed, avoidance, a gem slot). these are pure luck, and while nice, its generally not recommended to use a lower item level item just cause it has one of these. finally, as a warrior, you should ALWAYS wear Plate armor. never anything else. you get a fairly large stat bonus for wearing all plate, and other gear types generally wont have strength on them anyways. if its not plate, save it in your warband bank for an alt, or get it disenchanted for crafting materials.
also, so you don't feel too bad, the 4 zones of TWW are Dorn, Ringing Deeps, Hallowfall, and the fourth one you haven't seen yet. you'll spend your time fairly equally in all 4 at max level, but ONLY Dorn is above ground, so that means you'll pretty much only spend about 25-30% of your time above ground. that's normal and expected! unless you want to live in Dornagal and only do queued content like normal and heroic dungeons. world quests, mythic dungeons, delves, and raids all require you to travel to the location, so you'll spend a lot of time exploring underground.

Don't worry. You can jump right away into Looking for Raid (LFR) which is basically a story mode version of the raid with an automatic group finder:)
