But do spend some time to set up a few keybind keys for you main abilities. Use keys like 'R', 'Q', 'E' and modified ALT keys like ALT+R or ALT+1. In general use keys that are near WASD so it's comfortable to press while waking and do not use thing like 8 that you have to stop walking to press. This will make the smooth combat of wow come even more alive, trust me. To customize your keys right click on your portrait and go on edit mode and then right click on your action bar and set up keys.

You can continue with your shield until you find two two-handed weapons. Alternatively you can change your specialization from Fury to Arms and use only 1 Two Handed. The tank specialization Protection is also good and deals good damage in case you like using your shield.

    • @hoarfyt
      @hoarfyt 2 месяца назад +1

Just keep in mind that wow gives you rewards based on your specialization unless you change it by right clicking on your portrait and selecting the other 'loot specialization' option.

I've played WoW for almost 20 years. Love to see new players this far in the future. I see a lot of comments about setups, keybinds, etc., so I'll offer my setup:
I have a basic keyboard, and a basic 5 button mouse. One day when I was 13 I discovered one of the side mouse buttons was autorun. I've been autorunning with the side mouse button ever since. Not sure if that still comes default. Anyways, enjoy the game! No need for fancy tech, this game is not much different than it was in 2004.

Long time player just leaving my input because I get REALLY happy seeing new players get into this game. When it concerns your keybinds and organization, just do a little bit of reading on your spells and how frequently you think you'll wind up pressing it, while also asking yourself what feels natural and flows well. Just as an example, as a fellow warrrior, most of the time your rotation will consist of you flowing through a select few abilities, bloodthirst, raging blow, rampage (though I can't remember at what point you get rampage) and execute, with slam as a filler and rage dump whenever you don't have anything else to press. So it might benefit you to group those abilities in a way that you can flow between them quickly and easily, which personally I have in the 1 through 6 range. You also have two movement abilities in charge and heroic leap, which I like to have somewhere easy to press because you will be pressing them a LOT. Q and Shift-Q feels good for me just out of convenience, but definitely take a moment to fiddle around with it by adding something like 1-2 keybinds at a time and seeing they're a good fit.
Time and time again I've helped friends and loved ones get into the game, and it often goes "well you have so many buttons just give me your setup" which NEVER goes over well because they haven't had the time to build up that muscle memory, and can't remember what something is bound to when they need it. I definitely think the most natural way to ease yourself into playing your class effectively is just doing a loose bit of reading and research, and sticking things where you'll be able to both remember, and be able to press without putting too much stress on your hands or your brain.
Best of luck, and welcome to the game!

I hate mice with a whole bunch of buttons. It can be handy if you like that kind of thing but definitely not needed if you don't want one. I mostly have all my main offensive abilities mapped to R, F, G and V using shift macros and the rest of them mapped to the first 6 numbers on the number bar along with variants for Shift+[number] for stuns, utility etc. and Ctrl+[number] for my heals and defensive abilities. Loving the series so far. Welcome to the WoW and keep having fun.

Hello, 19 year WoW vet here. Been playing for over 2/3rds of my life, by now. I'd like to offer some general advice and tips.
    - As a Fury Warrior, you want to be using Charge (your 2 skill) as your opener. Then, you can pretty much spam Slam (1 skill), Bloodthirst (= skill) and Raging Blow when procs (4 skill). You can weave in other spells like Whirlwind for AoE (9 skill) and Heroic Leap (above your Impending Victory spell) for mobility. Fury is a very 'spammy' playstyle that lets you dump your Rage very easily, and generate it at the same time. You also want to be wielding two 2-hand weapons, not two 1-hand weapons, which is unique to the Fury spec
    - The stun mechanic is actually when that icon appears at 29:05, which would be cleared when you use your human racial 'Will to Survive'. In the previous clip, you were simply too far away to attack, as indicated by the hotkey bindings turning red
    - Your mount got faster and was able to fly at level 20, as seen from the 'Into the Wild Blue Yonder' achievement. In earlier stages of WoW you used to have to buy different tiers of speed, although now you just get it automatically at level milestones
    - Your minimap is your best guide. You can mouseover it when there's a transparent blue or yellow outlined area on it to see what objectives are there. You can also click the binocular icon on the top left of location text above the minimap to change what you want to track in the minimap
    - While not necessary, a multi button mouse like the Razer Naga or Corsair Scimitar can easily add heaps of extra buttons you'd normally need to bind to keyboard
    - When an item says 'You have not collected this appearance' even when in the inventory, you can right-click it to add it to your appearance collection for transmog use. Collections are found in the little horseshoe icon on your microbar (bottom right of screen)
    - You can change your UI by going into 'Edit Mode' from the escape menu
    - You can auto-loot by holding shift (I think that's still the default) when you right-click a corpse/chest/node
It's great to see new players trying out WoW for the first time. There's a reason it's stayed alive and as popular as it always has so it's always awesome to see new people in the world. Hope these tips aren't going to take away from your new-player experience; and I'm looking forward to seeing you progress :)

It's really cool to get your perspective, I remember being so excited and thinking some of the same things you said in this video like man I'm gonna play this game for a while, well, 20 years have gone by and I still play this game. It's been my home and a real constant for me in my life through everything that's happened both good and bad for me. Without being overly emotional this was really cool to see and brought back some old memories I have of the early days of WoW. Keep it up and I'll keep watching!
Some tips since you seem to be trying to absorb some knowledge, here's some big ones I've learned over the years.
Try and find a guild if you can, some of my best memories are just of hanging out in guild chat, getting a group of 5 friends on there and just spamming dungeons talking about life.
Lots of people in the community are really concerned with min/maxing which is what we call it when you only do the most ideal talents, do things the most optimal way, don't really worry about that right now. Play what you think is cool and what you have fun doing and the only time it matters is when you're far into the game you'll know, and can start doing that type of stuff.
Make sure you do some dungeons in the LFG system they are really fun and show a new side to the game, you can access it by hitting i, and clicking (random dungeon) once you select your role (I recommend dps starting out) then hit find group, some new players feel anxiety trying it out but it's not a big deal and you can't really mess much up and if you get a few mean people here or there that's just part of it.
As far as gaming setup the standard is any 12 button mouse with 12 keys on the side, I use a razer naga trinity but there are tons of them out there and to be honest all of them work about the same. You don't really NEED to for a while but it will 10x your performance and possibly even enjoyment.

Wow, it's honestly so great to read this comment and to know that you have gone through so many times in life with the game by your side. That is special indeed. They are not going unnoticed!

(Small Edit:) You don't really need a special mouse. Heck, I use the most inconvenient Gun Grip Mouse (RAGNOK2), I find it fun with my hunter who uses a gun. Just use 1-5, shift/ctrl/alt+1-5, F1, F2, scroll up, scroll down, middle click, shift/ctrl/alt+middle click, and you can add in stuff like Z,X,C,V,Q,E,R,F,T,G and combination of those with shift/ctrl/alt. Just rebind their original functions if you use that.
There is some theory on ergonomics behind what should go where, but the game is very slow with the 1 second delay between each action because of Global Cooldowns, it's our brains that lag behind the information overload. You're not even meant to think about it, just practice the muscle memory with extremely repetitive content.

Hey, I am using mouse Corsair Scimitar Elite. It has 12 buttons from side, which is exactly the amount of binds per wow spell bar, so I have 4 bars (48 spell binded), 1. bar mouse buttons 1-12, 2. bar mouse buttons 1-12 with shift, 3. bar mouse buttons 1-12 with ctrl, 4. bar buttons 1, 2, 3, 4, q, e, r, f, shift + q, shift + e, shift + r, shift + f. And that is plenty of binds for all classes.
My setup may be a bit overkill, but I would recommend adding at least a few binds, it will make you a better player, when you dont have to click spells with mouse.

      @itszouty  2 месяца назад

I use a 12 button Utech Smart Venus gaming mouse. Any mouse with 12 buttons is super helpful for WoW due to the outrageous amount of abilities xD I just keybind the mouse buttons to my number pad, and then keybind that to some WoW action bars.
Theres a few buttons on your keyboard you can turn into keybindings to hit more of your spells easier. Those are:
    Q, E, R, T, F, G, H, V
You can probably mix and match based on what you're comfortable with. I know some people use C aswell, but that is bound to your character sheet. But yeah you want to try and get as many of your spells to be keybound as you can. Some of them you only use once in a while, like Bloodlust, so it's not necessary for that.

I recommend letting your keyboard mappings grow organically. Use what feels comfortable for you. For combat, I use 1 though =, F1 through F12 and I also have five "special" keys down the left side of the keyboard that map to Shift-1 though Shift-5 which I use for buffs and special abilities like calling my demon/pet, going into shadow mode or balance mode, things you want to do fast after coming back into battle. I also use various letters for things, like 's' for spell interrupts, 'x' for speed boosts, 'i' for healing potion, 'keypad-del for taunt', 'home', 'page-up' and 'page-down' for auxiliary abilities like traps, F8 is always a stun, F5 and F6 are always 'rescue' type abilities like 'divine protection'. I play a lot of alts, so it's important for muscle memory to use the same key for the same type of spell/ability. I use my mouse for movement generally, but during combat, I use my arrow keys (instead of wsad) with my right hand while my left hand "does the fighting". The ctrl-'key's are used for things that are done out of combat. Further along in the game, you may want to look into macros (search wow api) which are accessed via /macro. As to getting companion pets or battle pets, activate 'track pets' under your tracking button (on your mini-map). If you are really interested in getting into battling pets, there are quests in Stormwind to get you started. Go to Audrey Burnhep at 69.4 24.4 (search for Audrey Burnhep in wowhead for better directions). You may also want to look into add-ons. For now, I would suggest keeping to the default game but once you start doing dungeons or raids, you will definitely want to get a few combat related ones like DBM and GTFO to help you stay alive. There is so much to wow! But again, I'd suggest letting things grow organically, when you need it and however it feels right to you.

Regarding keybinding I think this is bad advice and will set you up for failure in the future when you get too used to "bad" keybinds. It is much harder to re-learn things. Start using good keybinds from the start instead.
You can find some good images on google of which keybinds are the best. Generally it will be 1-5, and keys close to WASD like Q, E, R, F. Put the abilities you press the most on the most comfortable keybinds (like Q, E, 1-3, R) and use less good ones for things you don't press as often like long cooldowns or utility abilities.
It will feel awful if you go from clicking but once you get used to it (a few days at most) it will improve your gameplay a lot and you will build muscle memory.
If you play more than one character or spec, always try to use the same keybinds for similar abilities on all of them. For example, I will always keybind my interrupt ability to E, and my movement ability to F, etc. This will help with muscle memory and you will have an easier time learning new classes and specs.
You don't have to keybind everything to begin with, focus on spells you use in combat and especially ones you use frequently.
And keybind the "interact with target" key. It's so useful!

I do have a little gamepad/mini keyboard thing, (razer Tartarus) that i have set to movement keys and then 1-9 with the left hand three keys set as shift, alt and ctrl which I use as modifiers (so keybinds set as 8, 8+shift, 8+ alt and 8+ ctrl etc). my tips : just play along and find what works best for you along your journey. (yeah not really a helpful tip then.. hihi)
but I'll still explain my personal preferences so you could have an idea since I saw that many people were providing their own interface tips and stuff (that could give you multiple povs for later inspiration for your own interface idk)
usually i mainly use the three action bars at the bottom. (in my case, bar n°1 is sandwiched between bar 2 and 3, just cuz i like it visually) if i do use more, there on the sides far away from the fight and it's just mounts and sh*t...
action bar 1 helps me organize my main spells, the one i spam all the time.
action bar 2 and 3 give me room to place other spells. On a paladin for instance I put healings spells in one corner, auras/benedictions in another corner, just so visually, every "type" of spell is well separated from one another.
as for keybinds, i just use ones i feel comfortable with. it's really a habit, i think every player has unique binds. My movement spell is always 'R'. My spell for interrupting the target it 'T'. My Button4 on my mouse is usually for taunting target, 'V' is for stun, etc, etc. I could go on and on for days. (But I like to play an army of characters so I really need to homogenize my binds so that no matter what character I'm logged on I'm not completely lost.
'R' is universally, across all my characters, meant for movement abilities (e.g 'Heroic Leap' for warriors)
(side note, if there are several spells for the same thing --> we could say that 'Charge' and 'Heroic Leap' are both movement spells, then the rule says that you add modifiers: 'shift+R', then 'ctrl+R', even 'alt+R' if necessary. same thing goes if you have several "stun spells" or several so on so forth...)
Always remember that those will evolve with time and also depending on your general gameplay on the game. Will you be a hardcore optimized raid player? Or a player that collects shiny objects and mounts for the sake of collecting stuff? Do you only want to play one character or are you like me an altoholic who wants to create an army of characters? Only time will tell!
everything comes down to your own discovery and journey through the game

Terrific comment, I am truly grateful for the insight. You say that all these perspectives could help shape my own inspiration, this I agree with completely. All of the wonderful comments regarding interface, keybinds, mouse choice, class choice and everything else I've just been eating up I find it fascinating to see all the variety. It's truly a game to be customized to our hearts content which the more I realize the more I admire the game as well as the community for being so creative. Really appreciate the sub, welcome to the channel it's very good to have you here.

Started playing about 18 yrs ago and I didn't want help until I got stuck on a quest and found wowhead. Never looked back been using it ever since. I use a Razor deathadder V2 special addition and it has 2 side buttons, I use the front one for autorun and the rear one for reverse and i use the scroll button for jump. I have 3 action bars keybound: top bar F1 thru F12 second bar 1 thru = and bottom bar Q thru ]. For me that makes it easier. Fishing and cooking daily quests in Stormwind or Ironforge give good XP
I agree the story line is all messed up for new players.

Personally do not feel a MMO mouse is necessary at all. I've played MMOs very regularly since ~2007 and not only do I not use a mouse with the twelve side buttons I actively dislike them. The only time I haven't been able to get by with 12345RQTCM5M4E with shift and ctrl modifiers was WoD/Legion Warrior when there was extreme ability bloat. Currently I can fit every single ability in those slots with plenty of room to spare. You can even do more like use F, Z, X, and such, but I've never needed more than the previously mentioned keybinds in nearly twenty years. Action bar 1 for very frequently used things, Action bar 2 with shift modifiers for shorter cooldowns, Action bar 3 with ctrl modifiers for very long cooldowns/"Oh Shit" buttons, and Action bar 4 (this one is vertical on the side) for non-combat things you can just click.
Also, just a tip for your future alt, you can get a piece of gear in nearly every slot in Exile's Reach. You musta just missed getting a chest piece reward and vendored it on accident. It's like one of the very last rewards from tutorial island. Also also, I highly recommend trying out the MoP Remix mode before it's gone. Make a character, get your cloak, then spam the dungeon finder. It's super easy and I find it fun to see how uber powerful you can get in this mode.

Razer Naga Pro Wireless or Wired mouse I use for WoW, I use my logitech pro x superlight for fps games. I use Alt + 1 - 9 and Shift +1 - 9 and then I use an easy key macroed to my mouse for 10 - 12, then I use a combination of letters on my keyboard for other abilities I find useful and easy to reach when in the thick of it. I have unbound the S key and use that for abilities and turned my A and D keys to strafe left and right and use my right mouse click and hold to turn. This is a quite good setup for a PvPer like myself.

I use a multi button mouse razer naga chroma but not partial to the brand. Def for functionality. With all my utility spells/abilities and cooldowns set to 1-9 it’s much easier to use than reaching over on the keyboard. My main stuff is set to qweszxc with shift and ctrl variations of those. Then I personally prefer using both mouse buttons to move with AD to strafe. But that’s just me. I use auto run a lot which I set to the mouse buttons behind the scroll wheel. Just examples of uses of a multi button mouse.

one recommendation is that take your time to explore the settings especially the interface , edit mode in main menu and combat ones like showing hp numbers and percentages etc helps alot you are a new player until first lvl 70 character atleast but its just for one class you need atleast 3 to 4 well developed characters to be called a well settled player all the classes and play styles to explore with the new expansion coming out nxt month you got no time to waste keep at it its fun for first 5 years atleast

I bought a mouse with a full rack of side buttons but don’t use it. I kept hitting those buttons when not meaning to do so. I use a Logitech G3 with two side buttons. I use one of them to backtrack. I navigate with my mouse, not my keyboard. My hands are crippled and this makes sense for me. But by default, if you hold down left and right mouse buttons, you will go forward. Moving the mouse side to side will change your direction.

I like to bind my keys by using 1-6, shift 1-6, ctrl 1-4, alt 1-3, other keys like q,e,v,x and stuff and 2 mouse buttons. I use 1-6 and shift 1-6 for main abillities which i use all the time and then ctrl and alt for defensive and utiliy. And i use mouse buttons for mobility skills. I arrange my skills to have them grouped by what they're doing, are they offensive skills? I keep them on the left and defensives on the right. Hope this helps. By the way bro, take some time to leaen about your abilities in your action bars and to organize them. Some abilities like Bloodthirsty and Whirlwind will be better more "righty" on your actionbars or at least into shortcuts than far from the "righty" in the "lefty". Try put your priority abilties on shortcuts and learn about your skills and talents when you have some free time.

Logitech G604 is what I use, I also have a Naga trinity which boasts 9 buttons vs the 8 on my Logitech, it's really just personal preference. As for binding your keys, I would encourage you to bind start binding them now to help develop muscle memory, because you will have over 24 keybinds easily. Probably closer to 26ish? Someone feel free to correct me if I am wrong. Anyhow that many keybinds can be overwhelming.
The least played spec for me is warrior. If I were to make a brand new one, and boost it to 70 and then jump into a battleground I would get my ass handed to me just because of all the new keybinds. It's just easier for me to add spells as I go. I think @Eiandha described it better than me. "I recommend letting your keyboard mappings grow organically.

lmao! Love it. 20 years here. Very casual past 4-5, but always my game. Don't forget to touch grass everyday, don't be in a hurry or let yourself feel rushed, ever, and you will be fine :) I use side and top bars for mounts-professions. Mouse is a Shrike. Look into keybinds and macros.
I have 'run', for instance, keybound to a side button on my mouse as well as to toggle from full screen to windowed mode.
ps never played warrior-doubt anyone cares about your rotation- you are in level and learn mode- no biggie.
