Great to see how quickly you took to dragonriding. You’re gonna love all the races. In Dragonflight it was only the special dragons that you could use for this. As we approach the next expansion they have now opened this up so that pretty much all flying mounts can be used - and they changed the name to Skyriding.
This series is great! I miss that feeling of awe I had when I was a new player. Over the years, I've become one of those players who just blast through the quests. You have inspired me to approach the new expansion differently and try to immerse myself in the story more.
Welcome mate! Skyriding is so much damn fun, it's one of the best features they've ever added to the game and I'm so glad it's been unlocked at lvl 10 now, leveling with it is a blast.
I was going to mention this as well. You have items in your bags that will teach you those different customization options for the dragon mounts. Just need to click on them to learn them. Doing good man! Keep it up!
I love doing trick dismounts and aerial tricks with Skyriding. Here are a few fun ones: You can Skyride as a Druid in Travel Form. Druids can switch to Travel form instantly even when falling in the air. Jumping off ledges and transforming into druid travel form and flying up at the last second is a lot of fun. Equally so dismounting before you get to the ground and combining it with class abilities is a lot of fun. Sometimes I skyride and unsummon my mount while I am flying, and pop slow fall mage spell at the same time which shoots me horizontally forward in a slow gliding way. Its really cool. Can do the same thing with fun consumable items like Fel Meteors from Legion and such. I could show you how to skyride and do some tricks sometime. Also if you get 4 close friends and get the Hivemind mount together by solving a bunch of puzzles on a big Indiana Jones adventure. It is the only 5 person mount in the game, and is faster for every member that joins the Hivemind. It has Skyriding as well, so tons of pop up explosive fun moments of surprising people with 5 people instantly.
Oh man that all sounds awesome! I didn't realize there was the ability to dismount and use abilities in the air. Also I did not know there is a 5 person mount?? So cool.
@@itszouty The five person mount is called The Hivemind. It requires a lot of different puzzles and team coordination to get, and it is only a 5 person mount for you and the 4 others you get it with. It is character specific too. So even though your alts can summon it and mount it as well. If you first did the puzzle thing on say your Warrior with 4 of your Monk friends. Only those 4 monk characters can link up with your Warrior. If you switch to your Monk. You can still summon it, but they can't ride with you. So it like links the characters who specifically did the puzzles together in a "hivemind" like thing I guess. So it is best used with like your super road dog homies you game with the most...if they are interested obviously.
You seem to be having a good time. Ive played the game on and off since 2006 and its cool to see that people are still discovering it for the first time. I dont want to backseat you or anything but if you get a 1h and shield i think you should give tanking a shot, everyone should at least once. Just let the group know youre new and most of the time theyll work with you. Understanding different roles is a great way to gain knowledge about how mechanics affect you differently as a dps. (Such as the innate damage reduction just for BEING a tank spec) Glad youre having fun! Edit: Pressing spacebar twice while grounded (and on a skyriding mount) will jump and activate Skyward Ascent. So you dont have to walk off of ledges 😊

Skyriding is so good. It feels a lot nicer once you unlock all of the energy blips. And all your draginriding skill progress carries over to all your other characters.
You may have noticed this passively but not put a finger on it but because flying is such a core element of this expansion, the zones were designed with a lot of moment-to-moment verticality, more than any previous WoW continent. I found it to be an engaging nuance in Dragonflight and I look forward to more of it in The War Within.
The verticality is actually so awesome, it makes the map look and feel very exciting to explore. I find myself really drawn to verticality in game worlds (a recent example I enjoyed being elden ring) so this is really welcome by me in WoW. I hope they keep it up!
Dragonriding is about keeping flying speed. Just go upper u can using fly to the skies and turn a little bit down. Keeping speed is keeping the emotion buff, and that regenerates vigor that u can spend to generate more speed and vigor xD
@itszouty I will give you some advice but you mainly want to use bloodthirst and raging blow on cooldown, and when you get it, rampage once your high enough level
Looking forward to the next episode - also don't cat the cut scenes out - it's fun to see you react to them (and they are usually epic enough to justify a rewatch anyway).

@@itszouty I don't know. I guess it must be because it's been extended to most other mounts that existed before Dragonflight. I remember a pop-up next to those customizable DF dragons saying "dragon riding mount", now that pop-up is gone. (regular dragon mounts that existed before this expac didn't fly this way - now they do).
Dragonflight being the New Player Experience isnt perfect, but leveling in Dragonflight just hits different. thankfully Dynamic Flying will get more easy for you as you get used to it.
The Dragon glyphs no longer give skyriding talents, you will get those as you level now. You can still get them for the achievements of collecting them but they aren't important for skill advancement any more.
Since you started the game now and kinda missed alot of expansions, after you are done with this toon and this area and you wanna try something else, do chromie time and you can level each expansion either with this toon or make a different toon for each expansion. She is near the embassy in Stormwind right out the back door of the dwarven district. She sits on a huge hourglass under a big tree on the right.
@@itszouty If you want to experience the game story chronologically I think thats why they made chromie time. For vanilla wow (original game) you would have to check out classic because the expansion Cataclysm destroyed the vanilla world so they could make flying possible, but I'm not suggesting that you do classic but you can but dont do classic BC or Wrath because they didn't change much during Cata. I'm not really sure why they made them but people play it so whatever lol. whats wierd is they are gunna do classic Cata which is the reason for classic in the first place to me it doesn't make sense.
Cant wait to see the skyriding racing private servers come up. People are constantly doing blizzards job for them and making the game far better for free than blizz can do with a billion dollars. Plus now with speeds like this available, theyve just made all the speedhackers undetectable lol.
@@itszouty because you now have normal players top speed being this high, if someone was to use a speedhack, as long as they are at or under the top speed of these mounts, at the back end, it's essentially impossible to be able to discern between someone skyriding, and someone using a speedhack. Back in the day, they had a setup that would basically monitor how fast people are going, and if they passed a certain speed for a short duration, which had to be higher than a speed that was possible, then it would check, and ban them. Essentially it takes your X and Y and after the release of flying mounts, Z coordinate values on a given map, and watches how quickly you traverse from one coordinate to another, and if it's faster than would otherwise be possible, it bans you, as that gives you an average speed that person had to be travelling over a period of time in order to get from one point to another. That's why back in the day, if you were to use speedhacks, you basically couldn't set it to go faster than mounted speed, plus any items or other methods, that could potentially raise your mounted speed. If your character was passing that speed, then it would ban you after a few confirmed checks, just to ensure it wasn't lag or a glitch or something. It doesn't just ban you instantly it verify it several times.l before acting. So obviously, the problem now is that with these kinds of speeds available, it increases the speed that you can use a speedhack at, without it looking suspicious. Now, this could be fixed if Blizzard was competent, but they never go the extra mile and add more advanced systems that check if the player is mounted at the time, or the location they are at and check that against the maximum speed someone could possibly go there. Back in the day, going something like WSG, you used to be able to set a speedhack to the speed of a rogue using sprint, or rocket boots when they were released, and you could quickly run with the flag and win. You could get seen and reported however, so it was risky and was mostly done by rogues to stealth in, grab it and run, and then it doesn't look suspicious when a rogue is sprinting. Anyway, so thats how it works. They could easily prevent it by doing a little work, but Blizzard never do. And so, speedhacking is going to make a return. I guarantee it. There are so many ways to do dodgy stuff in WoW. And they never do anything about it.. For instance, back in the day, we used to get the map files which were openly available in the game files, and we would edit them. Adding bridges or deleting walls, and then share them amongst ourselves (a group of friends or even a guild if you wanted to) And it would allow you to walk along bridges thst only you could see and interact with, skip around all the trash mods, going straight to the bosses, and then start attacking the bosses from a location inside the wall. Becsuse the bosses are all serverside, they couldn't come attack you through the wall as thry had no pathing to get there and would just stand there and get ranged to death. Then you can just walk out from where the wall would have been, grab the loot, and then jump back onto your little bridge/path, and walk yo the next boss. I used to make these files for loads of the instances, building a long floating path all the way through each instance straight to each boss, and remove a wall at each boss so you could pop out, but they couldn't come in. And if you were a melee class, you would just put your path slightly under the floor so you can still reach them. Sometimes that meant they could hit you with AOE, but that's about it. And if you have a healer or are a paladin, that's no problem. And Blizzard are so damn lazy with their work, I wouldn't be surprised to find out you can still do it. I stopped doing it once my account was too valuable to risk losing, but I know it was possible all the way up to Wotlk. I tested it on a spare twink account. So yeah, thsts how, and thsts blizzard's lazy coding and attitude in a nutshell :) As long as you weren't a top guild or something and being observed, you'd never get caught. And nobody is ever going to look at low level instances and notice that you are only killing bosses somehow. Plus sometimes we would use the method to kill trash too for the exp anyway so unless you were seen by a GM, of which there were almost never any around actively in game, you couldn't ever get caught, as there was no system to check of your coordinates were in a place that should be accessible. Again, an easy method to fix, simply set up a teleporting system that puts you back to the nearest coordinate thst should be accessible... but they don't. Too much effort to stop the few people that would do such a thing. Assuming they even thought about it and realised it was possible. I thought of it when I was making a small private server and hosting it at my high school on my laptop. Left it plugged in, in my locker that I traded for someone else's because it was next to a power point lol. Learned how to edit maps because I wanted to create a custom GM island and area for people to hang out, with player housing and such. Decided to put one of my maps into the real game on a demo account, and it worked. So naturally, we used it to skip to bosses next lol. Hosting a server was how I learned how most of their systems worked and developed ways to circumvent things. Anyway, have a great one mate haha. as you level you wil get more enduring vigor and you will basically skyrdie forever with proper use of vigor
