@Yeet Everyday at the cost of sounding like a hater I don't think that'll happen. Not that he isn't good but that there are so many other good athletes to challenge him. I and so many others thought Tom Stoltman was going to have a longer run than only 2 in a row but look how quickly someone can explode onto the scene and upset everything. Thanks to the likes of Brian Shaw, Big Z, Thor (and others) they've inspired a huge talent pool into Strongman. We won't see anyone "towering" above the rest of the competition again. At least not anytime soon.
@@mimikemorgan.shoots2643 im aware of the bad stuff he does i will not compare Mitch to any of the bad stuff Jon Jones does... But from a athletic point of view
You're an absolute monster man, and knowing the story behind it makes it all the more impressive. You're doing great man keep it up, as a fellow Canadian, we are proud!
Its so sick to see how strongman is so much different with the years. And see the new guys comming up. You are already such a big name in the game and will make a huge impact in the sport! Keep it going team Moose for the W!
I thought the next 10 years would be dominated by Stoltman, Novikov and Locis. Then Mitch just came crashing in, leaving humanity behind. Probably the best potential right now, even to break the deadlift record.
I love the story about you inviting friends before leaving to Australia, almost no one came. Then focusing on the social game and making connections there - it was a totally different game leaving Australia 🥰
Happy to be a part of the original small online coaching, watching the Loz streams and seeing you do so well inspired me to keep going with the strongman training. Soon doing my second amateur comp in Sweden!
As a fellow Canadian and Ontarian I'm SO stoked and proud that one of us is achieving the things that you are! I feel like we're often under represented in a lot of sports but every now and then one of us comes along and turns the whole thing on its head. You're up there now with guys like Gretzky, GSP, Crosby, Steve Nash, (and Larratt, IYKYK). Still can't believe how unknown and under the radar your channel is but we all know that means the best is still to come. See you at the top!
Your real strength is your amazing soul, what a great human being. It is really hard for me to do exercise because of R.A but you have inspired me, If 10 pounds is all I can lift, 10 pounds I shall lift. I will use the resources given to me and use them to their fullest.
So I just subscribed off of Will's video and the Stoltman Brothers. You seemed so sweet and so strong and I am glad this is the first upload that i really get to know you. Congrats on all your success.
Appreciate how you wrapped things up by saying you were given the tools necessary to be successful. That was the goal my wife and I had for our six kids, that their toolbox would be full when they left the nest. Thanks for sharing your story I will be praying for you and your wife to be. God bless you both!
Honestly you are the cutest man alive. Your energy is generous, your words are kind and your moustache is fabulous. Your genetics and hard work are insane and your calm and kind character is the epitome of masculinity. Wish you the best in achieving your dreams and can't wait to see what the future holds, be it strong man or golf ;).
Mitchell Hooper came out of _nowhere_ and took that WSM from some real _TITANS!_ 🏆 And I grew up around his stomping grounds in Barrie so I really resonate with his story. It's not a place you'd expect to see a WSM. He reminds me of those old-fashioned bodybuilders who were methodical & calculated. You know - the ones who used to lift spherical dumbbells and had funny mustaches😂 I hope this 2023 WSM championship victory puts his training techniques into the spotlight. Because he's definitely got something to share
Great story well told. Love it! Best wishes for your upcoming marriage! I am 26 years into my marriage and wouldn't trade it for the world. A good woman just makes us better stronger men! 💪
Wow that list of sports you played is insane. Football, golf, rugby, hockey, basketball, swimming, marathon running, bodybuilding, PLing, strongman... it's like you were destined to be a pro athlete, and I guess ended up in strongman because of that university in Australia lol. Real crazy turn of events
Love this guy & his channel. Find it inspiring how he wasn’t actually always strong. Was over 300 pounds only just benching 315… shows how far you can go
Thanks for taking the time and being so honest, fascinating to watch and understand your journey so far in your still very young life and career. All the best Mitch 👍🏻 looking forward to meeting you again at the Royal Albert Hall soon.
It was a pleasure to see Mitchel training at the Sydney Uni Sports Gym, everyone was impressed with his strength. Nice to see the videos of you training at Arena and SUSAC with us. Keep wining, it’s just the beginning! 🎉 💪🏻
Great video thanks for making it. Looking forward to the seminar in Glasgow and learning a lot from both Loz and yourself. Also looking forward to getting my t shirts when the snail mail gets to Scotland
For real. Granted, he’s only 27 and he’s already had a few speaking mishaps the aftermath of which he handled pretty well so I think we can cut him some slack.
I’m from Ontario as well and 2000 sq ft is not considered small. I think he was probably counting the basement area as well so a 1000sqft per level home is on the smaller side.
i used to live in guelph and started watching you through will tennyson and found out both of you went to Guelph U. Your a complete gem of a dude. keep on lifting heavy weight man.
agreed it's kind of crazy how bodybuilders want absolutely no bodyfat, and he looks at those pictures and said that he saw room for cutting more bodyfat I get it that's what bodybuilders do, at the end of the day it's kind of impressive and at the same time scary (for their own health's sake) what they put their bodies through
@@justanobody0 The body dysmorphia that comes with it is scary. You get stage ready, then get back up to normal healthy lean physique, and convince yourself that you're obese, although you have abs. Some people really struggle with that.
@@espenstoro I think World Strongest Man competitors have a healthier physique than bodybuilders when they are getting stage ready. First time I watched Mitchell on the TV ,he smashed the car carry ,I thought this guy will go far and would be a great competitor for the world's strongest man going forward. Have to say I'm from the UK and couldn't work out his accent,I thought was he from the US or Oz after watching this I now know why I had that confusion. Going to be great watching his journey and seeing what he can achieve and how many world strongest man titles he can pick up along the way .
Great stuff, Mitch. You're living proof that (as I've said to many young clients over the years) if you don't give into the whole teenage party thing, you have a better chance at reaching your full potential. Soooo many (and I am definitely in this basket!) Basically poison their bodies when they are in full development mode, trying to reach its potential. Christ... If I'd been as mature as you when I was younger, I genuinely believe I would have become a pro cyclist. All the genetics and knowledge etc was there... But I fell into the trap. Keep up the great work and great content, Mitch... Oh and if you could just take it easy and not make it boring by dominating every event ... That'd be great!! 😆😜
