Ghosts, huh, great choice for the spooky season. To be honest, for a mere human spirit remaining in the world of the living (sort of), ghosts are surprisingly entertaining creatures. I love the fact that, while they all have roughly the same beginnings, they have a huge abundance of subspecies with unique features. I've always liked that kind of variety in supernatural creatures. Like, sometimes they don’t even go into afterlife in the usual way. For example, I didn’t start watching the series from the first episodes, and then returned to them over time, having in my mind the concept that at the moment of “death” the ghosts simply burst into flames or peacefully dissolve in the heavenly ghostly light... And then I see the first episode and how the ghost is dragged into the afterlife in this fleshy, otherworldly, screaming, eldritch horror mass. And like... Damn... sure the graphics were a little dated but damn it looked spectacular.

i dont think father gregory used mind control, he just convinced his "subjects" that what they were doing was Gods will as he claimed to be an angel and thats why they found peace after there attacks usually
I think ghosts are special in this series, because they're the only recurring monster (other than big-bad level monsters) that never really become a joke. Vampires, werewolves, demons, angels, even leviathan become pretty much a joke as the brothers gain more experience, gather better weapons, and kill off a lot of the stronger ones. But ghosts are always a threat, no matter the season.
I know someone who saw a real life echo. He said the ghost was a woman who was carrying a lantern up a flight of stairs. And every time she got to the top, she'd be right back at the bottom, walking up those stairs over and over and over again on a nonstop loop.
Love the content, i love the lore of earlier seasons, basically season 7 and before after that there started to be alot of contradictions, but i have a video idea, a video about creatures weaknesses, i.e, ghosts and salt, and the reason, salt and iron represent purity and ghost and demons are impure, you know stuff like that, but that would be a big project 😂
I think Shojos are actually monsters who can turn invisible and disappear with only their essence remaining. Hence why they can be trapped in small places and people thought they were spirits (because they turn invisible) and classified them as such. But if they shared the same realm of existence as ghosts, the only Shojo we saw should have seen Bobby's ghost as well. Which it didn't.

But instead of screaming, she combs 🪮 her hair and cries tears 😭.

Specters and Vengeful Spirits are different due to how they act Specters are solely capable of inducing vengeance into people they're controlling, the desire for revenge for whatever 'betrayal' they've experienced, whether series or not Vengeful Spirits are basically just ghosts that hate everyone and everything
I think it’s highly like for the empty and mindless ghosts to be fairly common. This is because when Billy raids the veil for souls, she says she collected a few hundred THOUSAND. Now, call me crazy, but given that these empty ghosts really seem to be the only type that is practically unnoticeable and harmless, ghost cases would be extremely common if most ghosts weren’t like this. Also, I can’t get the image of a pimp accidentally killing a banshee via pimp slap out of my head🤣
Demons being human souls makes a lot of sense given that even before that information was revealed, demons and ghosts shared the same weaknesses of salt and iron and were similar enough to make that connection
There was a way to put them to rest in season two a priest uses a ritual to send a ghost to the afterlife. I’m also pretty pissed that it got never used again.
