I can’t get enough of this interview! As a frequent traveler to Germany it’s so nice to know more about their leader Chancellor Scholz, as a matter of fact I was in Germany during their election. My German friends are opposing party but we didn’t talk politics that much we respect one’s political view. I like chancellor Scholz politics though my German friends doesn’t. I ❤ Germany, such a great country.

Well at least it's good to see two countries getting along trying to help each other and help someone else if we can see more of this in this world would be a better place🤔

The US bombed Nordstream so Germany was essentially strong-armed by an aggressive and patronizing ally into buying an alternative gas - American gas. That makes Germany the USA‘s submissive wife.
Finally Germany you have realised what needs to be done. Having left behind the shame, the fear and be the leader you are meant to be. The leader of a free and prosperous united Europe defending our principles our democracy against a dictator. It is truly a marvelous thing and maturity of democracy. Be proud of yourself Germany but be aware of yourself, your own strength as with it comes great responsibility, Europe needs your leadership now more than ever before.
germans lead europe for 20+ years ..their "leaderhip" is main reason why war starts so ...no, no one wants them to lead bc they have no clue what they are doing. ...
As a German: I want him to clarify who has blown up the pipeline. Many here are waiting for an answer. It will determine what our people think about our "Friend".
There is a certain steadiness and reliability in German policymaking - from Merkel to Scholz - that many people around the world seem to appreciate. Germans are lamenting this "muddling through" mentality a lot. Anyway, Mr Scholz understands that the enduring support of the German public depends on his careful and prudent approach. I guess that's just our culture shaped by history; we need to show everyone that we learned our lesson and avoid poor judgment - especially in matters of war - at any cost. I hope that the events on the battlefield do not overwhelm our collective ability to respond in time. But it is encouraging to see how many international observers appreciate the difficult situation the chancellor is in. If we keep sticking together like this, we may come out stronger once this terrible war is over.
As a German, I am somewhat conflicted on our current chancellor. On the one hand, I would like to see our government playing a more active leadership role when it comes to supporting Ukraine. On the other hand, I have to admit, that he is doing a fine job representing what the majority of Germans feel. Most Germans want to support Ukraine, but in a safe and often cautious manner. In the context of our past, we rightfully feel uneasy about our weapons being used against Russia, even though we are on the right side of history in this case.
U were allies boy, don.t forget that;)u care only about cheap gas.u(germany)sold the entire europe to russia.for years u didn.t allocated 2 procent of gdp to nato
Along with China, Russia, France and Belgium, Germany was on the right side of history when they protested the illegal Anglo-American invasion of Iraq.
German Chancelor Olaf Scholz explained and talked with a pleasant soft-spoken voice and diplomacy unlike Russian politicians talk with brutality and dominance, what a big difference!!! Assurance of amunition support to Ukraine is valuable and important, thanks to the solidarity and concern of US. Germany and many countries of NATO!!!
Which Russian politician have you personally heard talking with brutality and dominance ? (link please) Or are you just recycling western "news" talking points ?
I'm from Germany and it warms my heart to see that the German chancellor is willing to stand by Ukraine, and the rest of our allies in the EU, and the USA. they know the horrors of war and the importance of sticking together with a united front.
United front for what? Being the ruler of the world. Be an exceptional race, a race that rule the blacks, browns, yellow and everything in between? You understood the West version of "rule of law" only applies to the none white?
Well Scholz said it clearly A that Putin has to understand he will not succeed, B that the talks are important. Well Mr Scholz I see you dont talk freely as you know that talking has been stopped by the Ukraine after getting guidance from Britain and most of all, Putin is winning, he will take Ukraine and there is nothing you can do to stop it. So this visit to the US was nothing but a puppet visiting higher ranked puppet to discuss what the masters might want as next steps... Realy shame on Germany and Germans for behaving like sheeple in all of this, Europe is sold to the US and for what? War? High energy prices? I think it is very clear that all is setup for the US to make lot of money and for all of Europe to suffer so this gantleman cannot be called a leader not for one second, he is a puppet that caries out American plan in Europe, period..
IF Russia were to take Ukraine, it would definitely lead to WW III. Because he wouldn't stop with just Ukraine. That's why it's so vital for the entire free world to support Ukraine. There are enemies at the gate. And the gate is Ukraine. Slava Ukraini!! 🇺🇦 🇺🇲
If we don't stop Saddam he will take over the middle east. If we don't stop North Vietnam they will take over all of Asia. If we don't stop Afghanistan we will be fighting them on U.S. soil. Heard that stuff all before. The Biden Administration has an appetite for war, the prelude to more death and destruction. As long as Biden is not feeling the repercussions of U.S. solders coming home in body bags by the droves. The Biden Administration will keep sending more weapons of death bloodying the killing fields as long it is the Ukrainians solders being slaughtered.
I am French and I have been so ashamed and embarrassed by French President Macon on this topic. German Leader shows a steady, practical hand that I think is really needed in Europe.
I am German and I have been so ashamed and embarrassed by German Cancellor Scholz on this topic - just a year ago: Days before Putins attack Selensky was in Munich at the Security Conference at a debate forum called "Ukraine Evening". Not one German delegation attended the talk. Only ONE single German liberal MP attended it: AGNES STRACK ZIMMERMANN. This lady has more balls than the rest of the German Goverment alltogether. She was in the room when Selesky begged for weapons. The majority of the German public opposed and so did the German Goverment. And too many Germans were OK with it, because upfront in January 2022 the German Defense Department had already announced to send Ukraine 5000 helmets to defend themselfes. FUCKING HELMETS!!! In addition: I am ashamed of myself, too, because I did not took any actions in those days, exept for constantly asking my relatives, friends, colleagues and peers, how come that we don't send any defensive weapons to a threatened country. They all shrugged. So don't be so hard on Macron. He is doing the best he can, while being under massive domestic pressure. And France is sending tanks, too. I am thankful for every day, Macron is President and not le Pen. Vive la France.

It's great to have Germany back on the right side of history. I hope America's close call with Trumpian authoritarianism has given us some understanding of what happened in Germany in the first half of the 20th century. It can happen anywhere.

Even now, listening to people speaking German brings out a myriad of not too pleasant emotions thanks to countless movies and documentaries I've watched. So to be honest, at certain level, I am grateful for Germany's caution this time around. It really tells a lot of how much the country has transformed since that dark times
As a Pole I really would like to see Germany as leader in Europe. They can not play both sides, we Poles would like to trust Germans and have them as friends and allies. Poland is 6 times weaker in economy then Germany, we think they should stand firm as leader of values and help Ukraine stronger to win the war.
Germany is extra cautious about not causing fear in the neighbors. They unlike Russia understand that they can never change their history all they can do is everything they can to assure their neighbors that it will never happen again.
@@matthewhuszarik4173 Sure...Germany's weakness is why Europe has another major war. For all it's bloviating on social issues, Europe can't go 15 minutes without invading one another. P.S....if you knew anything about European history, Germany's past is no worse than any of it's neighbors.
well spoken. We germans would like to see poland send home their ultra right authoritarian government, follow eu law here and there, and dont outlaw abortions right in the "middle of europe" (it was enough that the americans did that, it was outrageous to hear from that case in poland of a raped, 14 years old, mentally ill girl which was raped by his own ucle, became pregnant and THAN was rejected by SEVERAL hospitals asking for an abortion 2-3 weeks ago. Germans were unbelivably angry. it was reported in germany everywhere). And that poland still demands again and again illegal and unfair reparations (as if the generations today which would have to pay for that would have anything to do with what was done 3 generations ago by their dead grandparents) everytime if they have finacial troubles, didnt help either. not to mention how unfair it would be if germany pays for reparation allthough poland didnt pay a single dime for the much much more expensive land of the entire genuine german east german areas which germany was forced to give for free to poland. while germany for example still pays since 200 full years every year hundreds of millions for "much much smaller areas" which germany sized from churches even 200 years ago. And "still" we have to pay. Polish people are not aware how unbelivable much money it would cost poland if they would have to pay for the illegally owned territory of germany. its unbelivable much money, and even much more money than all the reparation claims of poland which i saw. actually the list goes on for a long time but considering that its was eitherway totally inept to mention all of that to "you" personally i dont go on with it. I just wanted to use the chance, i dont have the chance to speak to a polish person very often ;-). ahh now i feel a little bit better, eitherway, you are totally correct
Thank you to all the countries helping Ukraine , gods speed for peace in Ukraine 🇺🇦.. no nation should be going thru this horrific WAR for there freedom .
I agree. And the honest friendly man he is (what people say about him), he is 100% in support for Ukraine. He also has to balance the situation with the Germans, it's a huge shift for them to get used to providing lethal weapons aid outside Germany, even if for the right and just cause. And Scholz doesn't make the decisions, hundreds of different politicians have to decide upon them together. I think Scholz is doing an amazing job in getting everyone together to do the right thing.

Fareed, please stop asking about Ukraine conceding Crimea. You ask every guest on every show. Ukraine should not be asked by anyone to concede anything to their attacker. It would also be like NATO and the EU telling Putin it is ok for him to annex from whoever he wants as long as he does it one area at a time instead of a large direct assault.
Russia has been methodically advancing putting the Ukrainians through the meat grinder. They will continue until no one is left. Putin is not going to withdraw, that's out of the question. Those who think Russia will be defeated in this war are whistling past the graveyard.Russia has been in Ukraine for over 300 years. The Russian Empire conquered Donetsk and Luhansk annexed the Khanate in the mid-late 17th century they are not leaving, only the Russians can end this war.
This does not necessarily mean that he feels that Ukraine should cede Crimea. It does however serve the useful purpose of asking these politicians a straight question and getting their answer onto the record.
He's being realistic. I wished he asked about Odessa and Kharkov. Ukraine will never retake Crimea, (which is Russian for over 200 years) and new Russia (Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Lugansk, Kherson). I don't understand why Ukraine is fighting over the Donbass since they have been killing civilians there since 2014 because there are Russians there and the Nazis in Ukraine hate them.
@@ravanpee1325 That wasn’t the intent of the Inflation Reduction Act and Europeans know it. The US has run a trade deficit with Europe for decades it isn’t a healthy economic relationship. The smart thing to do is wait until the counter offensive is about to start. Then take the bridge out. Then Russia will not be afforded the time to get their logistics reorganized. And no, 1 missile will not be enough.

This is a good person to be in a leadership position with Central and Central Western Europe becoming the vanguard against Russian autocracy and belligerence. @watch my videos The Wola massacre (Polish: Rzeź Woli, lit. 'Wola slaughter') was the systematic killing of between 40,000 and 50,000 Poles in the Wola neighbourhood of the Polish capital city, Warsaw, by the German Wehrmacht and fellow Axis collaborators in the Azerbaijani Legion, as well as the mostly-Russian RONA forces, which took place from 5 to 12 August 1944. The massacre was ordered by Adolf Hitler, who directed to kill "anything that moves" to stop the Warsaw Uprising soon after it began.[a]
Outstanding German leadership! Good reporting, concise and respectful. Time well spent. To the situation concerning the building of a tank factory in Ukraine, I suggest if built, it's easily converted to building farm tractors. Surely this war can't last much longer.
A brand new Rheinmetall production facility for the KF Kettenfahrzeug 51 Panther in Ukraine will not be set up before the war has ended. That's what I heard from respected sources. It wouldn't make any sense because wherever you go in Ukraine it could be reached by Russian cruise missiles. And, a total new system will take a minimum of 2 - 3 years to iron out the inevitable teething problems.
Is this the same outstanding German Leadership that sent 5000 helmets to Ukraine when the Russians were trying to encircle Kyiv? Or is it the same outstanding German Leadership that dragged its feet on tanks?
@Tosse901 Dollars and helmets didn't save Kyiv. NLAWS and Javelins did. Why did Obama overthrow the government before Zelinsky?
The previous corrupt government that Putin and N.A.T.O. promised neutrality ,not to join N.A.T.O. ,to surrender Ukraine's Nukes.
It's great to have Germany back on the right side of history. I hope America's close call with Trumpian authoritarianism has given us some understanding of what happened in Germany in the first half of the 20th century. It can happen anywhere.

Germany is extra cautious about not causing fear in the neighbors. They unlike Russia understand that they can never change their history all they can do is everything they can to assure their neighbors that it will never happen again.

Western "aid" has destroyed Ukraine
well spoken.
#CrimeaIsUkraine .. ✊💙💛🙏🇺🇦

The massacre was ordered by Adolf Hitler, who directed to kill "anything that moves" to stop the Warsaw Uprising soon after it began.[a]
they can finally pay reparations to Poland for what they done to the country and Ppl in ww2...
@watch my videos i haven't found information that states these claims. Please refer to a reliable source.

Thank you Germany 🇩🇪👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Yankees, get out of Ukraine.
@@samg7430 it's the same German leadership that gives the most money and military equipment to Ukraine after the US.
@Tosse901 Dollars and helmets didn't save Kyiv. NLAWS and Javelins did.
The EUs own data also shows that the order those giving most aid as:
US
EU (EU budget)
UK
Germany (individual contribution)
Canada
Poland (individual contribution)
France (individual contribution)
So your data is wrong.
Germany has been behind the curve at every stage of NATO's support to Ukraine. Glossing over this is glossing over Germany's gross unsuitability and frankly unwillingness to be a guarantor of European Defence and Security.
