Yeh your playing very well. Imo poker is just a grind. Keep mental sane and play your game. Obviously the bluff you did with AJ was very cool. I think your thought process was correct. Usually in that spot I ask myself if I’ve bluffed yet today because you can really only do a bluff like that at MOST one’s a night. The cool thing about bluffing is when you bet your KK AA hands people are more likely to look you up. And even implementing something like the AJ hand will allow you to make more money on the River with your KK AA hands
I've seen every Norcal Poker video big on you for shouting him out! Also great week and good job turning around Day 1 that had to help day 2s lose feel a little better. Keep it up man!
😂 you got me with that red dot! Tricked us with the truth. I know you're smiling about that. I'm joining Zeus in curling up on my favorite cushion and letting the nitpicks slide. This was not just a good week, it was a pretty good looking week. I will comment that I liked the pacing this week, snappy but not rushed. I feel like the vlogging keeps improving just a little more. Thanks for spending the time on us!
@@dougmccuskerpoker if you did all the improvements at once, we wouldn't get to take the journey with you. Remember, an elephant isn't eaten in a day, and Rome was built one bite at a time.
Nice hand Doug! I figured you’d check the turn with AQ & AK so I tried to get you off those hands with a bet. Nice point mentioning my sizing. Definitely need to be better at balancing that. I like your check on the turn because I would’ve bet big with QQ/JJ & you probably would’ve got my stack !
Very entertaining as always. Love hearing you reason out why you diverge from your normal (not bluffing strong ranges) and see it work. Seems like an opponent who knows you well can get fooled! Good job.
Hey Doug was just introduced to your blog, very nice production. Playing the tournament this morning. Hey viewers not only is Doug a fine poker player he's a true gentleman.
Hey Doug. As usual nice vlog. Love the poker and glad to hear that Zeus is ok. It would be nice to hear some of Zeus' commentaty too!! Ps. Are you selling any merch yet? I'd love a Zeus "token" CHIP for a card marker.....
Hello sir, I watch your vlog to learn, not to coach! But I need to say; you slow played pocket AA and pocket KK, both hands you lost to junk cards such as 3,4 i also see that in other vlogs. The idea behind slow play is to get Max value? But 50% of the time it back fires, and the slow player gives away Max value! Best of luck 🤞
I slow play some hands against players that will triple barrel with junk and never call a bet. Sometimes they get there, most of the time they just punt their stack.
Hi Doug. I really liked your play when you repped a straight and got KQ to fold. Nice lay down with KK on that soaking wet run out. Keep up the great work, my friend. 😊
@@dougmccuskerpoker yes sir a half million dollar bad beat but the casino refused to pay me. I was sick for a good week after. They stopped the game like the where going to pay us all but stop because they said I had bought In over the table limit. Which was just B/S because I had been playing for 6 hours when this happened. I have played since it happened
@@dougmccuskerpoker yes sir I am taking a break from poker! I can’t wrap my head around how crooked a casino can be. I understand the are making big money because of how big the bad beat is but is still completely wrong at the end of the day.
@@dougmccuskerpoker I totally agree. Just Saturday I was on the other side in a live $200 tourney. I had Ah5h HJ, raised 2.5BB to 1 call while in position. Flop Qd5sJh to his 1/2 pot c-bet and my call. Turn 5d, he jams, covering me. I snap, he curses and slams QJ to the felt after a brick river. I didn't felt him, but took 6th in the 59- entry tourney & 4 bounties! 👊🍀🥳 Hi and a bone to Zeus!🐕🥰
Was trying to be succinct, and cut my answer short. Your line was great - just doesn't always work when the deck has cruel intentions. Sure is fun to be on the other side once in a GREAT while though!😊
Dougie, I appreciate you remaining at the 1-3 level with which I can identify. The other bloggers all seem to be playing 10-20 or other,
That’s what you’re supposed to be doing to build more money.
@@chillmfwill19yes, find a game you can beat and play it a lot
Im happy grinding 1-3 at Capitol.
I totally agree! The nosebleed vlogs are easy to find. Watching Doug and playing vicariously through him every Sunday morning is great fun! 👍
Well luckily he has Zeus to keep him grounded. 😅
I feel your pain. Just got my aces cracked last night by 6 8 suited. He called a 60 raise preflop and flop was 6 6 5. 😂☠️
He would of bluffed his stack if he missed, he just happened to get there. Such is life.

The only drawback is that I never show my bluffs, unless they watch the vlog.
Enjoying NorCal's new youtube channel as well, but Doug is still Sacramento #1 👍😁
he is a better player than me at his age.
Played pretty well cept for that last Kings hand. T76 isn’t a bad board for Kings. A good flop bet may get 43 outta there.
maybe, still I think checking flops that are bad for my range is a good idea multiway.
Hey Doug! How much of a pros vs cons when considering blockers to make a decision?
Some hands it makes a big difference. But draw blockers mean a lot with deep stacks.
Coaches dream when when his student runs well Toss him an extra "BONE"
he is getting pampered lately.
I love a good poker video on Sunday morning
More to come!
Great vlog!
Glad you enjoyed it!

Alex is a nice guy and the shout out is well deserved.
Truthful and transparent. Succinct, non histrionic commentary is very notable. Thanks for your work from Michigan USA!
Much appreciated
I actually enjoy you showing the non-eventful hands, is more like real poker. Another good vlog
Most people get board with those hands, but will show them to show the flow.

Eventually I will figure this vlogging thing out, until then tiny improvements are the best I can do.

Greetings Doug, happy Sunday! regards from the UK, hope all is well in rainy California, Fraser
We survived all the storms so far, driving from San Diego to Sac in the rain was no fun last week.

Getting your stack was the plan 😀, to your defense, I would squeeze that size with weaker hands as well.

Lots of my opponents are familiar with my style. Have to mix it up now and then
Maybe you risked too much on the AJ bluff? Couldn’t we get away with smaller? Something like $240?
Perhaps, it was a similar size to a raise I would make with my premiums.

A bluff was the best defense against someone who bets for thin value too often.
Thank you for the Zeus update

Nicely done!

Fantastic
Thank you so much 😀
I was playing last night and had my quad J beat by royal flush.
Any jackpot involved?
