Epson ET 8550 printer review

- I recently purchased the Epson ET 8550 inkjet printer. Here are some of my thoughts and a printing demonstration in real time of an A4 glossy print. This is an eco tank which gives you bottles of ink that last longer than having to constantly buy cartridges.I talk here also about my original Epson Artisan 1430 A3+ printer. When I first bought that I had it fitted with a CISS (Continuos Ink Supply System). That was ok for a while but I eventually swapped back to the cartridge system on that. This is a much better idea. You will see how long an A4 Glossy print takes to go through in real time here.I have had it about a month so I am still getting familiar with it. So far so good. You can get a smaller A4 version which is probably a better idea for most people.

PS As at 1/4/24 I am still enjoying my printer and giving it lots of work with minutes, agendas, powerpoint printouts and postcard prints for my friends. It suits my needs perfectly. Occasionally a paper gets caught but no serious malfunctions.
I bought 2 of these. One for high quality prints and converted the second one to a sublimation printer. Love them both!
Thanks for your comments. I am still getting my money's worth out of mine.Keep up the good work. cheers geoff
1000th sub! Thanks for this review... I just bought mine thanks to your review!
Thanks Keyvan for your comments and subscription.Looks like you are the 1000th so thanks for that. That s been a while coming.I trust you will enjoy your printer.I am getting good use from mine at the present. cheers Geoff
Thanks Geoff.
Your welcome Michael. Thanks for your subscription. cheers Geoff
Hello sir. What are you filming this on ?
Thanks for your question. I was filming on my iPhone 11. cheers Geoff
nice video
Thanks Nolan, I have just used the printer a minute ago. Keep up the good work. Geoff
Can you tell me the depth of this printer without the front paper trays open? I'm trying to see if it will fit on my desk. Thanks
Hi thanks for your question. The depth is 22.75 inches or 380mm whichever you run with. If you are using the printer with rear feed tray you need a little bit of space between the back wall and your desk/printer as it leans backward. The output tray stays out after printing so you do need to watch that you close it form the front panel after printing.cheers Geoff
Thank you so so much. That makes my decision. It will fit, yay!! @@pembridgehouse
enjoy your printer. geoff@@JstcountryGirl
I am doing 13" x 23" off an Epson roll but I have found that if that piece is not completely flat (which is not easy to do) it can blotch a little bit on the corners of the last edge of the paper. The rolls are 329mmx10M or 13"x32.8 feet long and cutting them manually is a bit of a pain.
Hi Geoff, random question which I meant to ask before as you seem to be in Melbourne. Do you know the Stafferton family, or did you know Maurice and Shirley Stafferton?
Hi. Sorry I don't know these people. I don't live in Melbourne either. cheers Geoff
Thanks Geoff, my mistake.
No drama Brian. I actually live in Adelaide. cheers Geoff@@aleoli.photography
Could you tell me if this printer would do a 13 inch x 24 inch print ? thx
I believe it can print up to 13x19" prints.I haven't done so. cheers Geoff
Max size is 13x19
I have personally done a 13" wide x 50.5" (1282mm) long panoramic print on my 8550.

Keith says here it will do up to 2 metres.
@@Stalled-wm3qd thanks for dropping in. I would love to do a panoramic print but don’t have the need to. It’s good to know that I can. Cheers. Geoff.
