In 'Miss Bala,' Gloria (Gina Rodriguez) finds a power she never knew she had when she is drawn into a dangerous world of cross-border crime, led by Lino (Ismael Cruz Cordova), the head of a cartel. Surviving will require all of her cunning, inventiveness, and strength.
This film is rated PG-13 by the MPAA.

Bro I was mad asf that he died, he should’ve stayed alive and they could’ve maken a miss bala 2. But this movie was so good I bought it and can’t stop watching omg, if you get the dvd they have extra scenes and there is a scene they didn’t put in where him and Gina kissed and honestly im so mad she killed him.

Mo n Yes she is lucky. He is too damn fine! 🤩🥰 I think I would have been sweating and saying things that made no sense. He would of made me really nervous.
Undoubtedly, Ismael Cruz Córdova is a beautiful man. But, as a moviegoer, I sought to analyze his character on a deeper level. Like he said, he is revered/beloved and I believe feared in his community. Also, he stated that he has never felt like he belonged anywhere. We can all relate to that sentiment at some point in our lives. In my opinion, Lino would lose his found identity and sense of belonging without being this "monster" who would shoot a young woman with no real proof of her guilt, shoot up a night club with innocent bystanders in his path, and force a clearly terrified Gloria into a life of crime and the seedy underbelly of Tijuana. He said it himself, you have to do terrible things sometimes to survive; prove to his crew that he his tough and will do WHATEVER is required to keep them on top. However, let's talk about his redeemable qualities. He has known love. He mentions a past girlfriend and how Gloria reminds him of her; she was also sweet and beautiful. When he sees Gloria's godson, he transforms briefly. Yes, briefly. And again, my opinion only. I saw a spark of admiration for Gloria. A young woman with a "young son". Her godson, yes, but she has mama bear instincts and will protect him at all costs.. I think Gloria reminds him of when he was "good". His mother was a single woman with a "young son". He was raised by a young single mother, if I remember the storyline correctly. Being from broken homes, here is one more thing they have in common. Which is why I didn't quite understand why, they deleted the scene where Lino kisses Gloria to alert his men, and I don't know if that's the word I'm looking for. Maybe, warn his men that she was off-limits; especially in his absence. I was like Dayum! He didn't have to do that yo! That showed how much he was possibly falling for her. He has a heart under that armor. Definitely a turning point for me that this Lino is more complex and worthy of my sympathy and hope for his survival.
