You must be the very last person in the world who reviews a tuner. Good for you!
You are absolutely wright, didn't thought about that when I reviewed this Sansui but if I like them there should be more out there who still like them
I love SANSUI idol drew,Such a cool piece.👍👍👍
thats freakin awesome lookin, nice.......
fantastic love it.
bravo.
I have a TU-517, great machine. I prefer the earlier ones without digital dial. Very good channel separation. My lights have died one by one though. Only one left now. Reception and sound improved quite a bit when I replaced the speaker wire with a 3 euro bipolar lace antenna.
I have the TU-505 with the beautiful green light
Upgrade those lights to leds, better light, last longer and less heat. There are tutorials on youtube so you can do it yourself if you are minimal skilled.
@@flrn6233 led isn't vintage.
@@D1N02 Some people are romantic about that, but I'm pretty sure if they got leds in those days, they were putted leds on every single amp, they are just more efficient, and add just looks, does not change the sound. But anyway, people loved 6 volt batteries in the Ford A era, but now you see 12 volts, and 24 on trucks...
@@flrn6233 yeah and they would have put in DAB+ too but they didn't and that isn't better than FM either. I'll just put in some regular bulbs and they will last longer than FM will.
you are absolutely right
looks nice
That's a good-looking tuner.
You are right. I miss the VU meters too.
Boy those dial lamps are really bright
@@vintagestereo Ok, smaken verschillen
Prettig weekend
Nice tuner to wait. Where I live they ask too much for those tuners, a TU-317 for like 500 Euros (in your money)... That TU-919 got very nice display and you can add an EQ just to get the graphic display, and put some leds on it. You can watch some of the sansui racks in the channel of Hifiman argentina. Hope you get the matching tuner.
Request idol drew,Make a video again with your luxmans Receivers. Thanks!!!
It looks like you put brand new lights in that
IRL they are not very bright, but in normal lighting the white backplate reflects enough light to read the dial and in low light it is bright enough.
I have the TU 717, from brand new in 77, $400.00 CDN
the 717 have (according to fmtunerinfo.com) a better sound as this 417 and is easy to modify to a even better sound.
If you have "Ziggo" you can buy a digital tuner that you can connect to your amplifier. The do not have an analog radio signal anymore, but they do still have digital radio with a decoder. They do that to free space on the cable for internet/television.
The tuner is a Quantis QE317 you could even run it through a dac because it has a digital out.
And do you still have de Advance acustic, the Denon is great too.
You can still hook a cable wire up to it..it would still pick up stations as long as the wire is running to the house it will make the tuner hoter yes..
@@anthonycoach4551 there is a am fm analog on air radio tuner in every new sold stereo / surround receiver! But every (smart)phone - except Apple Iphones?? -also has a fm stereo analog on air radio tuner build in. Just via your headphone to the aux, tuner or tape in on your amp and voilá! Fm radio! But nothing beats a real analog AM / FM stereo etc on -air / cable tuner like andrews example here!
@@blackwaterinc.7305 yes I know but your right nothing beats the old analog tuners..
@@anthonycoach4551 You get many more stations with Cable radio than over they air.
@@RoderikvanReekum well of course you Will.I've been around the woods so I know my way around a lot things
