    Wow! You have no idea how these tutorials have improved my production. I got a production project that I knew would have a wider audience than I'm used to & I had to deliver for the artist. I did it entirely with these videos. Now I'm delivering material I can be proud of. Thanks so much Dom.

    Once again many thanks Dom for clarifying side chaining in Cubase. I have avoided this technique up to now as I have found it hard to understand. Your video makes it much I clearer. I will be using it improve my music productions from now on.

      @@DomSigalas @Dom Sigalas
      and I really mean it :-)
      Unfortunately there´s a bug when making a snapshot (mixing console) using this technique: recalling the snapshot after closing and re-opening the same project deletes the SC-Input in Retrologue. Not a biggy but somehow annoying - had to search for quite a while to figure that out have already reported it to the Steinberg Support.
      I´m wondering if other users are also experiencing this quirk.

    This is one of the reasons why you should go for cubase over any daw, they teach so many stuff,no need to search for hours of tutorial as they make these videos all the time

  • @JuanSchweizer
    @JuanSchweizer 3 года назад +3

    #5 blew my mind, after years of working with Cubase I had never tried that! Thanks a lot! I had to try it right away! So you can set de SC to pre-fader and then blend in, or leave out, the source signal by using its own fader, right? And even do it with a bunch of them. Nice.
    I sometimes use aggressive sidechain, as #1, on pads to make them move as well, or with any element that can get richer with those dynamics.
    Thanks again, have a great day!

    @Dom, Thank you very much for this video. At 5:47, you have EQ band 1 Disabled ( dimmed): Low shelf with 25Hz and EQ band 2: low shelf with 56 Hz .Can't we simply disable EQ 1 band? Shouldn't we source the side chain to 2 SC in, instead of 1 SC in? I am asking this b/c in Frequency 2 you are using settings in EQ2. Unfortunately Effect A/B settings, does not suppose sidechain source switching!

  • @Wendel_Kos

    WTF this retrologue input this is amazing!! thanks man!!! maybe steinie can release this as a separate audio effect, like the Serum FX plugin

    • @flyingsquirrel3271
      @flyingsquirrel3271 3 года назад +3

      Thats what I thought too. But on the other hand this sidechain input is a bit different. He could have played midi notes instead of just holding one long note. Then the filter and amp envelopes and velocity dependant behavior would have come into play ;)
      But yes, the same is probably possible with serum fx by routing a midi channel into the midi input of the insert.
