No lie, these are my favorite builds. It's a mash up of knowledge, attitude, determination, and a whole lot of creativity. Personally I don't care what your budget is but I think something like this always has a place in a gearhead's collection. Mad props to Andy for the sick ride!
This is the kind of build us ‘regular’ guys who don’t have trust funds. You can usually tell us from others by the judicious use of Maxpeeding products and zip ties and straps holding down any and everything lol. Andy Damage, you are a god damn inspiration 😢to us poor shade tree wrenchers 😂

I worked at a dealership for years and years in the early 2000s ,Technicians are by far the most oddly critical of peoples cars you’re ever going to meet. I drove a short box converted 66 Chevy with a Cadillac 472, Muncie 4 speed with the factory 3/4 ton suspension static dropped. Putting low profile race type tires on 8 lug wheels and laughed at. My goal was to build a “ if pro stock car racing had a truck series and Cadillac built one” truck all because I couldn’t afford the five lug conversion and new rear axle. End result was a really powerful truck that did amazing burnouts and so ridiculously fast until it ran out of leg it was actually pretty scary. Some of those same guys I worked with that I thought were making fun of me actually asked about the truck later on. They actually really were impressed by it and gained a lot of respect for it because I seen it through and was exactly what I wanted. This guy did just that. You don’t need a lot of money. Just a great attitude and imagination to build anything. Certain guys come in and help out tremendously kinda like how he got those wheels. Nowadays I have 4 ratty muscle cars that I don’t care what they look like but they run awesome and they get more attention than their painted counterparts at shows. Dodge guys hate my 69 coronet because it’s ratty. But it’s safe and fast. Keep truckin my guy you’re living the dream of custom building. Whether it’s pretty or not, you’re did what most people haven’t…. Driving a project vehicle!!

You know what. I have more respect for guys with small budgets that can make it work than those that have unlimited and do some monster builds. As long as it's safe, and he is having fun with it. Why not. He obviously has good skill to even be able to do the swap.
Usually it’s very difficult to bring a guest that can match the hosts charisma, but this totally worked. His timing with random interjections perfectly matches your ability to feed the audience information. It’s like having an incredible meal that is great on its own, but then adding the perfect dipping sauce on the side.

LOVE IT ! I’m 44 years old , and I freakin miss the mini truck scene. We use to cruise every Friday through Sunday nights and it was a blast. This took me back to the good days. I’m now on marketplace looking for me one. 💪🏻🙏🏻 I use to have a 94 Dakota with the 5.2 V8 single cab white with viper blue racing stripes. Lowered 4/5 with 16x8 and 16x10 American racing VF512s. Man I miss that truck. 😢😢😢
I remember there being a 4 Runner build here in town that he kinda went the prerunner style and had it on some 35 inch offroad tires with a set of those wheels or some knockoffs like it back in the early 2000's. Was a badass look, cool to see those wheels again!
I love seeing the beautiful jank of it because you can tell it wasn't just a game of "I threw money at it until it was fast" but a true testament to a person's skill and dedication.
my first vehicle was a silver 1982 Isuzu pup diesel. Now I wish I held on to it. this is cool..I had a Mazda b2000 mini truck back in the day too. so this really brings memories back.
This is awesome. I used to have a black s10 with a 327ci V8 with a super lumpy cam, had about 450hp with twin straight pipes 4 spd auto with stage 3 shift kit and a ratchet shifter... minitrucks are the best, too much fun. Doing 100km/h I could drop the gas pedal and screech the tires on dry pavement, in the rain I could spin the tires in any gear at almost any speed as long as it was under 200km/h. The speedo went to 140km/h and I spin it all the way around once I hit 140km/h so I think it topped out at about 250km/h

I love it. Im in the middle of swapping the hardbody my papaw bought in 96 lol, he drove it everyday like a truck until about 09 and I started, then when he passed he left it to me and I did the normal stuff to it slammed with some wheels. But now I’ve bought a 300zx parts car it’s getting a v6 a little boost and a lot more smiles lol.
As a former and probably always..mini trucker I think it is pretty cool. Deff needs some love nut has alot of potential..love to see a turbo 4banger in it

Scoop came from an aftermarket 4th gen z28 hood. I hated the car so when we sold it I chopped the hood up. 👌
