      Andrew Nono Jaguars are actually available up until Metal Casting, so there is more than enough time to recruit more.

      Matt Campbell Yes, but they would be so nice against German units. I remember playing the Aztecs and rushing for Terracotta army so i could rush a IA next to me. I had 1 spearman, 3 jaguar and 2 composite bowman. I had 100 gold and after the wonder I had -8 gold per turn. I got a spearman from a city-state. I took one of their smaller cities and after that the capital. Intentionally i lost the 2 spearman since i was not planing to do any more wars and really could not keep their upkeep.

      Doesn't matter. I liked it anyways.

    At first when I saw Attila declared war on China, I looked at the map and thought, "Lol, he's so far away, he probably won't even be able to do anything," and then I remembered the world was round... RIP in pieces, Beijing.

      I am a little surprised that China lost their capital that fast. Alright, Attila is a maniac, but wow.

      Gordon Freeman Scout Well its probably a good thing that Attila did take her capital out because china spreads like a rash on most maps. And once they get there UU's..... its bad news bears for there neighbors.

    Great start! It would be nice to have some extra Jaguars, but everything you are building is high priority. Great series! Love where this is going. :)

    What about gems southwest of tioti - that tile is next to the border as well - I guess you'll have it after you cap Berlin though.
    Pretty cool how quickly you manage everything, definitely shows your 1200+ hrs of exp. Can't wait for next one.

    Wow +2 food from lakes makes the floating gardens amazing. I guess it's really balanced by the standard Civ V maps having a total of 2 lake tiles per world if you are lucky.

    I just downloaded the turn zero save last night and tried playing this. By turn 55 the ottomans already claimed the western settle spot. I am thinking about starting over and trying again. I don't know how you kept those bastards away. In my game they settled Ankara 2 tiles west of where your city is right now.

    Hey, Marb :) Love your Civ 5 series. I learned so much from them :) Plus your commentary is hilarious :D Quick question: do you ever experience crashes when leader screens are supposed to be triggered between turns? Whenever I have Enhanced UI installed, the game crashes about an hour after I start it up due to a rendering error. I have never experienced this crash without Enhanced UI.

    on the 3rd city here, i would have bought the deer toward the ottomans instead of salt, since they will clearly grab it soon if you dont, while the salts were not really under threat, and you would have gotten them very soon anyways. i find i only buy tiles im at risk to lose to a close opposing city/city state.

  • @illicitsubstance32
    @illicitsubstance32 10 лет назад

    the wine in tenochitlan is unimproved. you should buy the wheat tile near your 2nd city before the city state steals it.

    Hey, Marbz. I read that tech and social policy costs are based on the peak number of cities under your control at the same time. This would mean that if you take a city and raze it, the next city you capture won't increase your costs if you wait until the previous city has completely burned down, since the peak number of cities under your control concurrently won't have gone up. Any idea if this is true?

    Don't like the mod interface and the quick movement causes you to miss other civs activity, it's a step backwards not forwards, looks like you're playing civ 2. Any chance of changing these back Marbozir?

    Is there any advantage to playing on epic game pace over fast or standard?

    • @Waluisus
      @Waluisus 10 лет назад +5

      The main advantage would be more turns for warfare for players who prefer that style rather than rushing through the tech tree.

      It's ok but you need room to expand. Even then tradition is better.

    • @IcIcyEyes
      @IcIcyEyes 10 лет назад +5

      I actually went tradition/liberty opener when playing as Poland (Deity) and it turned out very nice. But then again thanks to Polands UA I got 4 fully filled policy trees and was about to finish the 5th when I won. I can't remember the exact amount of cities I built though :(

    • @Benzy91
      @Benzy91 10 лет назад +3

      Tradition is just too good to pass up on. With Monarchy and Aristocracy every 10 citizen in your capital will only cost you 4 unhappiness instead of 10.

    • @Calibrownsfan
      @Calibrownsfan 4 месяца назад

      if you are making a fairly large empire it's good, say at least 6 cities. once you get to 8 cities liberty is clearly better than tradition.

    how to decide on which tiles should be worked?

    • @Tribble6hatch
      @Tribble6hatch 10 лет назад +2

      in the beginning , food is important, lock your best food tiles, for growth. if you have to rush something important, lets say your happiness getting low, and you need to fix it with a circus or so, you lock more production tiles, as food tiles. your city grows slower, but you need less turns to finish the circus . it depens on the situation what you need you should lock . rushing out a settler , go on production tiles. balance it how you need it ^^

    Is it just me, or does Carthage always seem to get a garbage start?

    • @zacharymatheny6985
      @zacharymatheny6985 10 лет назад

      I to have bad experiences with Carthage starts. However, they seem to start with sea resources (usually atleast 1 fish or a luxury) and normally have coastal starts so the early food from the lighthouse can definantly help.
