    First earn money in custom charge by letting these fake brand come through ports. And then make even more money by raiding them.

      Dennis Arimpur - To those unable to afford a designer product, just petition the designer to offer a less expensive version which can be sold in general department stores. Quite a few brands have done so to satisfy the general consumer. But to support persons who blatantly plagiarize ones hard earned intellectual property, is not only theft, but also totally disingenuous IMO.

    • @thinkthink2379
      @thinkthink2379 6 лет назад +2

      Cheryl Medeiros I agree but you should also advocate for economic equality just like the way you are passionate about self sufficiency in poverty. Can we talk about how these brands shouldn't be selling those products in extortion and 100folds prices compare to what they pay for it initially. They make a product for 10 dollars in poor India, Bangladesh, veitnam, Taiwan & sell it for 800$ ... How is that fair!? Most of these brand companies are involved in child labour & economic inequalities. That's worthy of talking

    • @cherylmedeiros6287
      @cherylmedeiros6287 6 лет назад

      Think Think I agree but i am not the owners or the dealers of these bags, nor do I own one. I have no desire to pay $1,000 For a purse. If you can afford it fine, if not carry a grocery bag if you have to. About the child labor, that is the problem of the government which the child lives in. I'm sure LV doesn't go into a country, sign a contract and hire only children to make their bags for 5 rupees per hour. It is the government's and the company to make sure they are not using children. Doing spot checks and if they are, take their business elsewhere. But in no way do I think people should be making and selling counterfeit products!

    For those who support the counterfeit market. I understand you’re worrying about the middle class and the people that can’t afford genuine brands. But you gotta realize that if the government allows and supports the counterfeit market. The government could face multiple lawsuits from the legit genuine brand companies, which could result in the genuine brand companies pulling their stores out of the UAE market completely which will ultimately affect the economy.

    • @hythamek8250
      @hythamek8250 6 лет назад +3

      Iron Man i see your point. I’m thinking both points are two different roads that still lead to losses and a dent in the economy. In my opinion however, I would like to believe that if lawsuits from the genuine brands actually came to life, that would also damage the country’s reputation and image. Cause there’s no way that wouldn’t be all over the news. Which in a way will also push tourists away because they could develop a negative image about the country

    • @vtp1995

      You think that companies can sue Dubai government?

    • @hythamek8250
      @hythamek8250 6 лет назад +3

      Varghese Thomas Ofcourse.. what makes you think it’s not possible? Worst case scenario if the UAE government is immune to lawsuits (highly unlikely but I’m going with your flow just for funzies), if those companies are only satisfied with pulling their stores off the UAE market, that would still send a loud and clear message not only to the UAE government but also to the residents and tourists who would think ill of the government and go on a Facebook frenzy talking all sorts of crap about the country they live in. Again... end result is a damaged economy and poor public image

    all these big VIP showrooms behind the walls between two flats are made by their own local men as a foreigner can't afford to pay labour to joint two flats together!! Are the Customes officers asleep at the duty when all this was imported into the Country...Look for route cause of problem and finish that and not by simply by closing the shop for one month.

    Secret doors and passages, wow, just like Hawai Five -O. Back in the 1980's, when I was living in Dubai, the fake copies of high end accessories were begining to catch on. I remember expats on their holiday trips to the far east would look for these products there to take back home in the UK or elsewhere. Traders get enticed by suppliers with mirages of big profits, after all they are in Dubai for that purpose.

There Ian never enough man power to check every container. If something seems off they will check it and catch it but it is impossible to check all of them.

    The fake arabs (Egyptians) that run the ports allow the fakes to come through by collecting hefty payoffs. Then once in a while the authorities (the actual arabs) when they aren't busy racing trucks up sand dunes come by to these stores etc and make sweeps. I know plenty of millionaires that are sooo damn cheap that they buy these fakes and shop at outlet malls for branded items. It's a buyers market and someone will always meet the demand

    If the counterfeits have entered the uae markets then i think the uae have a very inefficient customs department. Rather than destroying and penalising these small time shops the uae govt must invest some money in training their officers at all ports of entry to uae. These small raids and confiscations wont stop anything, train your officers first so nothing fake enters uae.
