    its always nice when you find a review on a photography product that comes along with some nice pictures! I feel like so many reviews I watch they just show boring flat lighted images

    To be honest, this is my first time watching POV street photography with a zoom lens that far. Cool perspective and you got a lot of sick shots! The ending is so your style with a different mix tho. Great content as always!

      thank you very very much, I actually agree in regards to the telephoto lens in street photography, not that many videos out there. Probably as it is not AS versatile as some other lenses, but the results when you use it right (not that I know what's right lol) are pretty stunning.
      Also, can't believe I have a style now in my videos :)))

    It’s a great idea to use just one lens. For years I would always take 3 or 4 out with me and it was distracting me from what I was there for. I now just stick to a 16-85mm on an APS-C body for my street photography. I’ve really enjoyed watching your POVs, and you’ve got some great shots again in this one. Keep up the good work.

    • @ClassicPolly
      @ClassicPolly  4 года назад +1

      Same here, used to always take with me at least 2 lenses and most of the shoot time would be choosing which lens to choose for the shot (normally missing the shot itself). Now I always take only one with me and let things develop. Also 16-85mm is a very nice choice ^^

    • @ClassicPolly
      @ClassicPolly  4 года назад

      Hi, glad to meet a fellow street photography enthusiast. I am not sure what you mean by what do I do with the shots, I normally condence my catalogues at the end of each month to keep my external storage drives nice and neat. Most shots get deleted, some get posted online.

    • @Anthony8858
      @Anthony8858 4 года назад +1

      @@ClassicPolly I meant.... do you keep these street shots of people you don't know? Groups of kids on steps, etc.. I've never taken street / environmental photos to include anyone other than either landscapes or family style.
      I was only wondering if the pictures that include 2 total strangers walking hand in had, would be a keeper? Or eventually deleted ?

    • @ClassicPolly
      @ClassicPolly  4 года назад

      The short and maybe not so satisfying answer to that is you need to decide for yourself. Street photography is, in my opinion (not so commonly shared or accepted), anything you want it to be. Know GDPR rules and know when you are allowed to keep the images and when you are shooting at private spaces etc. A good place to start would be with Sean Tucker on RUclips.

    Great video as always. I must say, now I want a zoom lens haha You can really get close and isolate the subject without getting physically closer to them, and I like such photos. Though I dont like the f3.5-4.8 aperture, or rather the thought of a variable aperture. I might try it.

    • @ClassicPolly

      Thank you very much and yes, the variable aperture was also on my cons list, but my 18-55 has that and I managed to figure out a way to work with it so here I am with yet another lens like that (they even look kind of the same). Just loved the cyclists moving away across the bridge - very good capture. Saving pennies for a 55-200, but Fuji rumors reckons a 70-300 is on the way....

    • @ClassicPolly
      @ClassicPolly  4 года назад

      Yes, that shot is a good example of why the 55-200 almost became my obsession ^^. In regards to 70-300, on a crop body 55-200 is basically a 84-300mm and that in itself is almost too much lens for hand holding (I'd say just right on the line of possible) with the 70-300 you probably are looking at a monopod or a tripod to properly use the 300mm side of it. Just maybe something to consider before purchase ^^

      @@ClassicPolly because you made it look pretty effortless to get some cool intimate moments without having to go up close to people. I normally use a 23mm or at most a 50mm on my fuji (because those are what I own). But I had to gain the confidence over time to get closer to people. So I can definitely see the appeal of the 55-200, also because you get that nice background compression and isolation.
      Have you found any negatives / drawbacks about this lens?

    • @ClassicPolly
      @ClassicPolly  3 года назад

      Yeah I see your point. I do love this lens but some of the things to consider are - it’s massive and people DO notice you, I’ve missed so many candid shots it’s not even funny. No run and gun situation, with this lens the whole flow is much slower. I tend to spend more time in one spot looking for that one and only composition. I had to really get used to this as I’m pretty restless and love to move quick through the scene. Lens shake is real, so I’m trying to either not breathe when snapping an image or place a camera on something solid. Saying all of the above, I don’t think these are negatives per se. More like a different way of shooting.

    • @Rabixter
      @Rabixter 3 года назад

      @@ClassicPolly thanks for your insights! I guess like any lenses there are pros and cons. You get that lovely compression and the focal range but you sacrifice size, weight and in this case weather resistance. But overall it seems like its really fantastic value for money compared to other telephoto options.
