- Previously introduced as the HondaJet 2600 Concept in 2021, the Echelon is being marketed as the “world’s first single-pilot light jet capable of nonstop transcontinental flight across the United States,” Honda Aircraft said.
Honda Aircraft revealed the 2600 concept design at NBAA 2021, and Skies was one of the first to get a walkthrough.
Follow along with us as we get to talk to the Assistant Vice-President of Product Planning, Adam Gagnon, about the new design.

Hondajet is really the only viable VLJ. I'm super proud of them.
It’s interesting that in the specs from Honda’s website there is absolutely nothing about the _WEIGHT_
My guess is that this about as much a VLJ as a CJ3 or PC-21 is.
@@Bartonovich52 PC-24.
The “NO” in the end was priceless…
Hahaha.Yeah i noticed that.
the husband and the son were thinking about buying the plane but the wife said no..
Very beautiful. Is this aircraft single pilot certified???
@@aircommandslipperz no I think she was saying that all that luggage couldn't possibly fit.
@@Veldtian1 haha ya i know it was a joke
Thank you for showing this tour.
3:10 Something missing....OK. The aisle seat armrest is recessed.
Good, keep going Honda
So cool Honda jet 2600 God bles you thanks bro.
Honda 🤩🤩❤
I would recommend you using skis as a prop when demonstrating the cargo capacity. I feel it better targets your market.
Or bales of low density super skunk or a lower volume/higher margin per flight but heavier bricks of yayo.
@@Veldtian1 Pallets of cash and gold bullion.
about the lav… is the toilet serviceable from the exterior? Is it a suction system (like the Phenom 300)? or no?
It needs to have emergency return added but expanded on so if over water it can carry on to destination if over 50% . Also to cut down on pilot workloads please add advanced auto throttle system for single pilot mode, but with increased ceiling, please develop and add early slow decompression warning system for pilots since slow decompression symptoms are hard to notify in newer pilots if no action within a designated time allow auto pilot to run emergency land notification and decent to below 10,000 then max vent the cabin if pilot still doesn’t deactivate and check in with atc within 5 minute window with crew or passengers. engaged full self land to nearest major airport thus allowing medical to be on standby once plane stops on runway all below 10,000 ft
Nice! is it single pilot also?
yas
6:30 the guy's face after he saw the cargo space.
Ha! I noticed that too!
"its HUGE"
In the words of lloyd christmas, "We'll take it!!"
I just hope that fuelling will be easier on it
Amazing wish , I'll have one.
Considering headwinds, I wonder if the HJ2600 will make LA to Hawaii?
This will give the Pilatus PC24 a serious run in the super-light jet market.
You can find out by giving it the ol' college try!!
Go Honda. UK fan.
It's fun that 6:29 the man say huge
Man knows his plane.
If they only make it (and they're able to make it) - it would be the Phenom 300 killer. I don't wanna call a paper aircraft awesome, but it surely can become awesome. People mentioning Citation Latitude etc. - just google who was the best selling business jet in all categories for like the last 10 years. Not Citation Latitude. And there's a reason for that.
You can buy a used Gulfstream for like $1.5 m - so what? You have no money to fly it anyway. It's not the purchase price that determines the success, it's the performance/operating costs. If they can keep an hourly price closer to the Phenom (turboprop-like costs range, and they can do it judging by the existing HondaJet), if they single pilot certify it (this is very important both for owner pilots and for everyone else except charter operators, since it cuts costs tremendously) - it's gonna be the new megahit. And by the way, it's not only transcontinental range, it's California-Hawaii range as well, and this is the last leg that cuts the Earth in half for the present light jets. These extra 600 miles are VERY critical.
Of course it's nice to fly in a Latitude comfort (and even better in an ACJ comfort;), but it's much more important not to sell your last underwear to afford that.
Yeah but can I play ET for the Atari 2600 on the flight management computer
surprised they didn't go to a side stick.
Right!!! Really no reason not to at this point... & they should add a HUD since it has a 2600 mile range across multiple climate zones, especially transatlantic... If they add those 2 things, it really would be perfect...
i want to be trained to fly the smaller version of the honda jet and fly it myself.
No flat floor?
when can i buy it ?
i wish this one has parachute too just in case
A coast-to-coast aircraft requires 3,000 miles. That’s why the midsize segment, and aircraft, disappeared when super midsize aircraft arrived. Buyers also want to stand-up, without a trench, when making five hour flights. Unfortunately, no price information was provided, making any meaningful comparison almost impossible. Those seats are extremely narrow for a five hour aircraft. I suspect Honda have a lot to learn about designing a true transcontinental aircraft…the Astra SPX (then Gulfstream 100) was a similar concept, which failed, and offered five more inches of headroom…
HondaJet 2600 is priced at $10-$12 Million. For that price I'd go ahead and go with a Cessna Latitude, which starts at $10.5M, has a 6 foot stand up cabin height, can seat a max of 9 passengers (2 side facing seats, 1 4-seat club followed by 2 front facing and 1 lav seat) along with 2 pilots up front, range of 2700nm (3100 miles) with 4 passengers and has a much better ramp presence in my opinion.
@@thinkingai6017 it is not single pilot
But yes the cabin looks very tight
@BJ Guru, surely you know 2,625 Nau. mi. = 3,020 Stat. mi. and a typical coast to coast business flight like Teterboro to LAX is only 2,454 Stat. Mi. or SEA to MIA to get some sun is 2,721 stat. mi. So very comfortably within margins. The market decades earlier for your well described Astra SPX was very much less diverse than today and more so 5 years hence when this is likely to come to being. I do agree that the seats are narrow for a 5 hour aircraft, but it's estimated field performance should also make a greater variety of airports enter into the equation. It'll find operators willing to take those trade-offs.
I would think they are shooting for the pilot/owner who can now fly his family to Europe
Nice! What is the price point for the jet?
Any plans for a plane that can do LA to NY?
What, you think the 'refugees' and homeless are going to start needing transport to NY for some reason and they're going to start handing them private planes?
LA is history.
what is the expected price
12mil
I love it and am so excited about it, but I hate that I keep hearing "concept" it makes me think there is a big chance that this aircraft might never exist...
Thats because there IS a big chance it wont exist.
That’s always a possibility. But another reason to say “concept” is so they can get feedback from their potential customers and modify the size, range, cabin, or price point to match buyers’ expectations. Expect to see changes between the concept and the finished jet.
certifying airplanes is hard
@@ciello___8307 TRUE! So you want to take great care to not certify the "wrong" airplane.
👍
🤔☝🏽As A Consumer I Would Suggest that You Install A total Separate Rear Small Closed Off Bedroom in the Rear of the Plane ✈️.
You practically get what want if you can afford it... its custom design
This is a light jet, with a range of 2600nm. Why would you need a bedroom?
@@3204clivesinclair why not? So you can lay on the bed when you sick, not feeling well & need a rest full flat along the way... it's a choice of seating configuration not mandatory
Price?
It's still a concept but it's estimated to cost from 10-12 mil
Haven't seen a Honda Bike, yet
give more fuel space than luggage space so it can fly more distance.
yea crazy amount of luggage space.
Is this still Single Pilot Certified?
No, you have to be married.
A jet to day a space rocket tomorrow
Karan at the end... "NO" lol
$?
i like the smaller version

( 6:32 ) mark . You can see the Gentleman is conducting a video & her comes KAREN . NOooooobody asked you Ma'am . If you were truly interested in cargo capacity you could've waited until they were finished .
Honda Jet 2600 is good
HondaJet need to get with the future. get rid of the yoke and used a fly-by-wire flight grip.

Japanese i always admire their work.not like other corp aim on greed.safety is last option.
The highest demand is coming from Asia & Asians will prefer Asian manufacturer & if Honda does well, expect huge orders from here.
King Air 360i vs Honda 2600?. See you later King Air.
That woman at the end of the video was not impressed
My rich grandparents are getting one 😂
78Mil when you can fly at 3000 feet …….way better competition
For a long range that seems like a very small area to live on, i would definitely avoid this plane unless im transporting cocaine cargo😅
You can freight alot of "Sugar" on this jet, the cargo area is huge.
I'll take one for 5 million usd please
The HondaJet Elite S is going for arround 5.2 depending on extras, this is his big brother, of what ive seen from their site and news outles the HondaJet 2600 is going to be 10 to 12 million, fair price if you ask me
One thing HondaJet doesn't have is good interior designers. Those seats are still ugly. Reminds me of my Ford Pinto interior when I was in high school.
interior looks a bit cheap - almost all of it.
I’m going to state the obvious here - That is one ugly looking airplane, both the interior and the exterior !
It's nice though!
@@JTBCOOL1 I agree. Looks really nice.
