I can only imagine how many mistakes I might have encountered attempting this exercise. Overcoming obstacles and achieving, your goals is what separates greatness from mediocrity. You sir, are destined for greatness.
ha! thank you :) what's interesting is I just sorta ended up at this solution because that's all that worked. I then saw a video from the guys at scooterswapshop.com who do some amazing builds...and he described exactly this process and apparently has not had problems with it ...so it seems like I actually ended up on the "correct" way to do this \o/ (though you do need to allow for any offset in your stretch frame)
I only found out about the existence of the ice-bear after I'd done it. Interestingly a couple of years later I saw a video from scooterswapshop (they have an excellent channel on youtube!) who do some amazing conversions, and apparently turning down a stock rim like I did is how they do it... so it seems like I ended up in sorta the right place after all :)

not sure I understand the question, sorry :-\ The tyre is a 120/70x12" conti twist which was just stretched onto the 6x12 Austin Mini Classic alloy rim. It was a very tight fit and needed a cheetah/bead-blaster to fit. Hope that helps :)

Nice welding work. And good on you for including your mistakes for others to learn from.
thanks very much :D
Yeah it *almost* worked, but no cigar..too many variables. Got there in the end tho
Coulda went with a ice bear hub. Already has the 4 bolt lug pattern and inside the hub has hookups for the drum brake assembly.
