- The Veterans Claims Assistance Act is a law that says the VA has to assist you with the processing of your claim. But do they really abide by this? We've found that they often do the minimum, so what can you do? We'll explain how to ensure your claim is complete and why not to rely on the VA.

BTW, when you walk into Any VA facility and the nice person asks says cheerfully "HI, how are you today?" DO NOT reply "I am fine, how are you?" like normal. ALWAYS say "I'm still alive!" Otherwise she or he will write on their form "Veteran reports he's OK now." These people are not your friends.
Nope they are looking at filling their quotas
Duty to deny
I'll remember that quote
Thankfully the Army at the WWTU did everything for me before I was put on a 5 year TDL. The army had me at 80% with SSDI before I got out and the VA put me at 100%. The Army gave me an award letter putting me in the AW2 alumni as well.
I was wounded in combat by an IED blast in Iraq and had a lot of documentation for it. I have been helping other veterans to get their benefits and that's why I watch and share these videos. Thanks for all you do trooper.
Shouldn't even bee that hard homeboy should be auto.atic phat shittey
Great!!
That is great news for you and Go Army!
Thanks for your comment

I get now that VA stands for Veterans Adversary. I am a Vietnam veteran afflicted by Agent Orange (Dioxin) poisoning. Got wind of it from an article in VFW magazine. So Congress passed the "Blue Water Navy Act" whereby I should file a claim. So lots on me to prove. 1st I proved i was in vietnam, twice. Then I proved my ship and I were indeed exposed to dioxin agent orange) and 3rd I proved i have Neuropathy diagnosed by two different neurologists. Claim denied. I'm at year three waiting for a fair appeal hearing. I think the VA is waiting for me to get it over with and die.
Such BS man… I feel like they really do want us to die off sometimes
The process is way too long
The problem is that the government has the medical profession so paranoid about liability that they will not do anything that may fingerpoint fault. I can't get one doctor in my area willing to commit to filling out a DBQ.
Its funny because Congress mandated them and the VA refuses to use them
My husbands non va dr refuses to write anything or fill out dbq because he says he could lose his license or be sued but i dont understand this because it is just writing the diagnosis he has given already
I hear you. My primary care physician refuses to fill out or validate any VA forms. Says he never saw that before and doesn't understand it, so no.
Doesn't make sense as you are correct its just his diagnosis. Appears to be lazy. So just submit the doctors medical records.
@davidsonlawoffices Two of my doctors, who are anything but "lazy", won't touch a VA form with a 10 foot pole. I think they have good reasons.
If they won't complete the DBQ you only alternative is to use your medical records. I would get a letter on their letterhead asying your disability is a result of your service. Didn't mean to offend. Thanks
QUESTION: I have the names, addresses, and phone numbers of 3 vets who witnessed the in-service event that caused my injury. In my claim, can I request that the VA, under its Duty to Assist, contact these individuals for their verbal and/or written statements? I think their statements, as heard/received directly by the VA rater, would carry more evidentiary value as opposed to a “Buddy Letter” submitted with my claim.
sir, all 3 doctorsinvolved in my lung cancer discovery and surgery, a r lung removal total, have either passed away or retired. the hospital also said they have no records or images before 2009 of unless the patient is continuing to be seen in the hospital. my surgery was 1988 and they disposed of those records 6 years after my last visit to the hospital. what to do if there are no records and no doctors to provide info from 1988l I was discharged in 1971 and have been under care at va in florida since 2008. so they have the lung cancer in my va record but not the historical records.?????
Im sorry about your lung cancer. Have you tried speaking with your current doctor to establsih the link?
dont even talk about your health with the guy giving you a ride to the clinic or back to your car in the golf cart....walking is better and healthy for us.
Yes its is. Thanks for your comment
I had a tumor removed from back while on active duty and the didn't give me shit from a life time injury. They just keep jerking me around.
Sounds about right and it is difficult to file a malpractice claim
