Consider using an extra large, low concrete bowl on a short pedestal then placing a spherical sundial (bronze or a nice patina) inside the bowl (along with a ton of annual color). I think it would give you the classical structure you’re looking for without being too visually heavy and detracting from the Hartley. Thanks for the bonus video this morning. 🌸💜

Today, I am doing exactly the same thing: planting lots of annuals. Watching you, I realized I add in several unnecessary "steps" and will cut them out TODAY. I always thought professional gardeners used more efficient methods but didn't know what they were. You are the ONLY one who SHOWS us! Home gardening books and many videos overcomplicate planting in particular. I can now plant twice as much in half the time with much less effort and get better results! THANK YOU SO MUCH!🌺🌻🌷🌲🌿💐

A nice, thick row of sunflowers along the side of the chicken coop would really keep the girls much cooler in the heat, and it would be gone by winter when they need the sun.

Could you do a video comparing/updating us on all the varieties of hardy geraniums on your property? Although I absolutely love the color and amount of flowers on Rozanne, it just spreads and rambles too much for where I planted it. Wondering if there is a more well behaved version that I would like better.

Such beautiful annuals. Question on the October Maple….since maple’s are notorious for invasive roots won’t it overcome the hen house and cause issues with the foundation? I’ve always read and was told not to plant maples near a structure (ie: sidewalks, foundation and septics) that could be damaged by the roots.
