Così magnifico!

Thank you so much for doing this vlog. When I was a kid in a small town there was nothing to do but go to the movies. I saw this movie in the theater when it was originally released. I loved it. Thanks again!

a very interesting and fascinating vlog seen the film a few times as well, nice to to see then and now as well as your passion in the vlog, thanks for sharing from across the pond in UK
It’s so nice to see a younger person such as yourself have a passion and love for these Golden Age of Hollywood movies and stars. I’ve seen this movie many times throughout my life and find it quite endearing. I read from someone’s biography at one time that Gable had never even heard of Loren prior to filming this movie. But once he saw her as the crew boat docked, he said, “What is that?!” LOL. I also read he took his last wife Kay Spreckles on this location shoot and she too gained a ton of weight from eating all of the pasta dishes. Were you able to find the bar where Loren sang Americano and danced with Gable? That was another funny scene. Too bad you weren’t able to get access to where the lift chairs were. It doesn’t surprise me he had a double play him during the romantic cave scene. I agree with you that his losing weight, long time hard drinking and heavy smoking was probably what helped contribute to his death after shooting The Misfits. That movie was one of his best roles which truly showed his talent range. But, with the ongoing stress of filming with Marilyn’s problems and doing rough stunts for Huston in 100+F heat, that in itself would cause many health problems for someone such as himself. Kay even hated him doing the stunts as he would get bloody hands from doing them. He was nice and sensitive, though, towards Marlyn even though he did state that she was a sick girl with many problems. It killed her to think she was the cause of his death. She went through much guilt and anguish over that. However, she was only a small component of what led to his demise. He was a chain smoker and alcoholic most of his life and the drinking worsened after Lombard died. Once Kay and her two children entered into his life he tapered his drinking a bit. But by then the toll had taken effect on his body from all of the hard living. He aged rapidly in his late fifties from all of that. It’s pretty sad as he was eager and longing to see the birth of his own child with Kay. I think the book, “Long Live The King: A Biography on Clark Gable” by Lyn Tornabene is the most accurate book about Gable. Anyway, thanks in doing these fun movie location vlogs! 👍🏼
@rollercoasterlisa thank you for sharing that.....Here's my tiny bit of did ya know lol. A reporter asked Sophia about spaghetti I think being fattening and she says "darling I owe these legs to spaghetti"....I saw this movie in the 70's on TV all I could remember was Clark Gable with a Lil bit this was before google and DVD's do I had to find a vhs tape spit wasn't easy to find the title native seen it now at least 50 times over the years

Good morning Jordan thanks again for being a fantastic teacher and blogger I love every moment of history thanks for another great trip with us I love Clark gables 💯🦁❤️
I was up late and searched this movie, but didn't want to rent it. It was a favorite movie growing up, probably, also, watching it late at night. The location always facinated me. I never would have dreamed that so much was filmed right in that dock area and that the buildings have survived 63 years later. This was so special and AWESOME to me! Thank you so much for doing this!!!
Omg Jordan! This is my favorite movie of all time. Thank you so much for going to the film locations and taking the time to do this. I absolutely love this show and we'll watch it often you have showed me something that I've always wanted to see myself thank you Jordan you're the best, with much love from a little Italian girl from South Philly, PA😘🇮🇹
Again I've not seen this movie gonna have to watch it now for sure. Thanks Jordan Nice research. The power of positive thoughts brings these things to you. ♥
Vittorio de Siva was also in this film....probably the greatest director of all time.....Umberto D. Bicycle Thief.....He directed Loren in Two Women at about this time......also the great Marriage Italian Style.
I need to re-watch this movie. What amazing video detail on the movie scenes! You are soooo good at this--wait a minute, I have already complimented you on this in other vids. Waiting for the next one.
I think I saw this movie when I was young... it is seeming familiar. I think I will watch it again. Was cool seeing that the original places are still there. Thanks for the video, Jordan!
Wonderful Video ! I'm watching it agin this afternoon. The scenery is so beautiful ! It's amazing how you matched up scenes/locations so well. Well Done ! It was so great that you got to meet the grandson of the owner. It just proves that it never hurts to ask. Thanks for inquiring. Now I am going to look for the actual movie, but I will also need to find some Limoncello to sip as I watch Mr. Gable. Safe Travels to you!
I had watched this movie a dozen times over the past few decades. We just returned from a trip there. We saw Capri disappointed with all the high class stores. Talked with our guide about the movie. Just watched it again tonight recognizing many places. But yur video opened it all up
Daze With Jordan the Lion, we got to see all these movies, also Mae West, Marx brothers etc here in Ca because they taxed us to restore them. Clark Gable will b honoured with this vlog Jordan. Magic researching. This place has a charm about it en it has definitely inspired me to watch the movie. The boat ride was beautiful.
