  • Borrowed a Supair Delight 3 from a friend for a short flight. Here's my thoughts:
First of all, when running, the foot plate bounces off the back of your feet, which can feel awkward and can make you trip the first times using it. Just something you should be aware of.
Surprisingly easy to get in and out of. In flight it was surprisingly stable and reassuring, even though the weather wasn't exactly spot on. The bumps felt attenuated as opposed to my 10 years old open harness. The Delight gave me exactly the info I needed and nothing more. Very soothing sensation. With this opportunity I found out that the turbulences I feel are scary because of my old harness. With the delight I feel I could tolerate more turbulence and feel safer in flight. Of course, it only FEELS safer, you're still flying 😂 But it helps with the mental stress, leaving more headroom for actual flying instead of getting tired and wanting to land because "it's too bumpy".
Feels a bit awkward in wingovers, since I feel that the weight shift is slightly limited and there's the new yaw motion of the pod, but I'm guessing it's a matter of practice. This time I couldn't get the timing right. Totally different feeling.
Of course, it's warmer than an open harness and I felt a slight increase in airspeed. I was slightly unconformable because the foot plate should have been brought a little closer to me. But other than that, it was magic.
    I'm getting one!

And? Is it better than open harness?

For me, yes. Read the video's description, I go into detail there.

Or better, I'll post it here:

@@bpunct thanks for the info. I'm thinking of getting my first pod this season. I tried one at home and didn't like it or better said it wasn't more comfortable than my Aircross U Relax open harness. Are you getting the delight 3 or 4?

Unlike an open harness, pods require specific adjustments. Hang test required. I'm confident that a pod is more comfortabile than an open harness. I am getting the delight 3, this specific one. My friend is getting a delight 4 and I'm buying his delight 3.
