I used to go out an race...the holeshot was the best part an the fastest part of the day....but i soon began getting focused on place on the track where i could launch as high as possible....showing the pros big jumps they were missing out on an being novice or beginner i guessed that bothered them..especially when i holeshot the pros in the 25 plus class a new money class....these guys north east national pro riders so the tok it personal...ok an oh well....dude u do a great job clearly explaining stuff...i had to learn all this stuff on my own...it was pretty rough at times..i wish we had u tube in 1989...i finally got a break when i git gary bailey to do a video of me an bought his tape the art of jumping.it changed my fear of jumping into understanding...by one thing...thanks...
Ronnie Faisst me and some friends are going to go ride tomorrow at jandabur Mx. It’s in Tulsa ok if you are wanting to go ride somewhere. It would be a few hours from you but that place is awesome. They have 3 tracks and the dirt is some of the best around

I know this video was posted a long time ago but I’m new to the sport and I’m always willing to learn new things and get better at things I enjoy doing. I try to ride at least once a week if the weather is nice. I’d love to be coach by you or even ride with you at a local track and see what I need to work on and just get more confidence. I’ve been told that I’m really good for how long I’ve been riding but I just don’t have the confidence I need and I agree with that.
I know this video is a few years old but just got into motorcross and absolutely love everything about it. Always has been a passion of mine and my escape but I have never had anyone to give me advice and I really want to get better and more confidence. I coached tim ferry mcgrath..d bradshaw..mike brown nate ramsey...an i almost got to talk with k dub but got interupted...i got bradshaw to try a honda for SX an he did an won a outdoor national...with my friend paul wrenching for him...he was driving damons truck...an damon didnt even know he was a great wrench....they found out...mt morris....coaching is important..because its good to have an extra set of experienced eyes....i started racing ay 27 so i got pushed into coaching an team manager type of position....i was fortunate to talk with real good pros at just the right time...jeff emig one of the best jumper an outdoor riders i told him he was...simple common sense...hes was a little down because of mcgrath winning all sx races
I had gary bailey do a video an my engine 2 smoke power valve was ill so asked him for the art of jumping instead...i gave it to my friends an told them to watch it an then share it pass it on....that was 1990
I coached a bunch of riders but its true it kinda hard to look at ur self unless ur having some one video u everytime u ride...which is probably not a bad thing then u can see if ur sharp enuf...
Hi my name is Justin , I just got my first bike and I really want to get Into motocross. My dad showed me your videos , We live in mays landing and he was telling me that u were from May’s landing just like me . I’m looking for any help to get me ready to race motocross. I’m 10 years old and since I can remember I’ve always loved dirt bikes!
My race shop owner was trying to politley tell me in the pro class it all champians at the supercross an tje motocross nationals...the elite u better be beating everyone when ever u race or dont bother...they are the are on their game with multi time amatuer title...i was brought to a pro MX shop to get sponsered...an the next guy in the spot on the team to race there was tim ferry u mite a heard of him...i didnt wanna be his mechanic because i new i was faster...till i took him to practice for his first pro race...3 laps i saw..ok hes faster than me...he was very impressive....16 years old kid....
I came from road racing an i was shocked to find out most motocross racer are deathly scared of using the front brake they just dont touch it at all.....i have to race with these folks...
Hey Ronnie, nice video. I’m a 31 yeah old guy getting back into riding after barely riding over the last 8 years. I was ok but not great back then so now I’m probably pretty crap after all the years off the bike. I’m wondering if you could touch on motorcross track etiquette for riders like me. Going to the track to ride can be very intimidating when there’s killer riders there with all the flash new gear and everything. Cheers Much love Riley
Yeah man... I remember when I was first getting started I felt the same way when I went to the track. Few questions. Are you just going to a public track to practice?? And if so do they break up the practice into groups or is it just open practice?
