The same thing definitely applies to dirt bikes. Bombing around on a 110 with your buddies will put a bigger smile on your face than trying to push the limits of a 250. pushing the limits of a 250-450 takes actual work and focus. you can max out a 110 while laughing your ass off halfway distracted and intoxicated lol. not that im advising it.
Your absolutely right, should try it on a street bike even a whimsy 600 revs to 16k+ rpms add a quality slip on exhaust and the sound alone is an adrenaline!!!!
More power that's wasted by how inefficient two strokes are. Might make more power on paper but that means nothing. On a track 4 strokes will eat 2 strokes. 85 is geared much shorter that also helps with acceleration. Its like the people who claim 250 2ts will out run a 450.
@@trevor866 i have seen tons of videos of 2 strokes destroying 4 strokes on tracks in an open class event. If 2 strokes were allowed in pro motocross and supercross they would have a solid chance. It takes a rider that knows how to ride a 2 stroke! If 4 strokes are so efficient then why does it take 2X the cc's to produce the same horsepower. Love hearing guys say their 450 will beat your 250. Its twice the motor LMAO!
I've always felt that the mini manufacturers are really missing out on the off-road market by not offering enduro models below the 125 2T class. KTM did offer an XC version years ago, but if I recall, it really wasn't that much different from the 85 and 105 SX minis. Based on the recent boom of single track, hard enduro and hare scramble popularity, I'd like to see them give the same treatment and R&D to a mini version as they do the bigger bikes: lower gearing, suspension, larger tank, kickstand, maybe even a different head and a flywheel weight. It could even be a really cool project to promote via the Gas Gas brand.
I can't go wide open like that, I'm always scared something mechanical is going to fail or break loose at speed. Probably because once my front fender came loose and jammed in the front wheel and laid my ass down in the street.
Easy way to avoid that is to maintain your bike constantly at regular intervals if maintained properly the vehicle should have a much lower chance of mechanical failures but that’s part of riding driving anything
