This is definitely right in most cases, however I feel like if you put your effort and dedicate your life to training non stop. Good stuff. I love how you put technique over speed, especially to young/new riders. As a parent of a 9 y/o and a former high school coach, it has been hard at times to keep that in perspective. Especially, when my 9 y/o wants to win so badly! We have been riding for about 18 months now, and racing since January 2020. We work A LOT on simple technique drills in the yard, and I really focus on that at the tracks. In the last month, He has really picked up speed at the track and has a TON of confidence in his technique. Got his 1st podium, with more than 15 riders, this past weekend with a 3 & 2. Keep up the great work! You guys are doing big things for our sport. Don't worry what the haters say. Keep doing what you believe to be true. YOU GUYS ROCK!!!

My parents always refused to get me a bike. Now I’m 18 and about to start. This video just kind of crushed my dreams. But I’m going to do it anyways. See how far I can make it
Great video! I would love to see one about reaching more of a middle ground, like qualifying for Lorettas, or getting your pro license. Those are goals we have right now, but we we always feel like we are by chance finding our way because my husband and I have no prior experience in the sport with two boys that race. We go back and forth with how much to race, where to race (big races versus AMA district/local races, and how much coaching/training to do (pay for). Some guidance in those things would be so helpful!
Success is measured by the goals you value. I agree those goals need to be realistic or you never feel like you have accomplished anything. However, such goals always need to be re-evaluated as you progress, the only constant in life is change.
i like this guy cause he is just straight up he not feeding you bullshit and telling everybody u r going to make it and being a yes man ans i can respect that
I think the one most overlooked think is talent is only the beginning support all around is a big thing an commitment...i worked a bunch of good pros in the 90s an they were all ready in possession of the whole package of winning races...just as they did their first races....they were ready....some most already loretta lynns champions try an get to lorrettas dont over look it i never knew what it was till i was much older....even helping these young pro first year riders i still didnt know how important it was to go at least go one time...this is ur competion.... at LL s
Sebastian Moreno I can see my parents perspective but I just think it would be so much fun. I already deal with stress and anxiety and I fell like that would be a place for me to escape
When I was younger, my family wasn't in a position to get me a dirt bike. I was 21 when I got my first dirt bike. Start saving up money now and keep your goals in mind. You'll get one eventually, and it's super rewarding when you've earned every last penny of it! Some people are more fortunate than others in that way, but it doesn't mean you'll never have one. Hang in there!
I used to want to be a professional athlete or rider but to compete at the top levels you have to sacrifice alot such as social life, childhood time, education and friends. And at that point you realise sometimes you want to have a bit of both and decide you just want to race club championship levels. Because after you are done with racing you may have little friends outside of racing or job opportunities.
I want to go pro and I understand that it doesn't happen overnight but if I set my mind to it and I put in the work I could probably do it I started on a 85 and moved right up to a 250 we'll see what happened if I don't make it at least I had fun trying
If you’re an older person and you just want to participate in a race or two. What do you have to do to get your license? Just so you can race a particular race. And I’m talking about just an amateur person that wants to try a professional race for the experience.
Tyler, your content is valuable. I hope would be parents that are living out their dreams through their kids lives will HEAR you and take heed. Local amateur racing is fun and competition is HEALTHY. Local, fun, hobby, active, social interaction, relationships, growth, etcetera. thank you
ive always wanted to be the best at motocross but my parents forbid me from even touching a bike but now that im 18 im allowed to so im going to become the best no matter what i rode my first 250 it was a CRF250R one of my buddies and ive fallen in love it feels like when i ride im free and i can do anything so im gonna keep going until i become the best.
I broke both of my femurs back in 09 hitting a 65ft triple on a kx80, still wanted to race afterwards but I think after all the guilt and shame my dad felt after pushing me so hard, he’d ended up leaving. I got caught up in growing up and getting a job etc. I think back now and i was never given the opportunity to have fun with it. I understand why cause of the money thing. But passion and fun is a big part of it. I was fed with anxiety and fear as a kid. Motocross parents, don’t do that to your kids, let them have fun.
I am 18 and looking at doing it as a hobby, I already rider a honda shadow 750 aero and used to ride a two stroke through the woods harder than the local motocross riders are willing too. Do you think there is any chance in me having a successful enough hobby where it can finance itself if I practice enough??
I think the parents and their son or daughter mini racer should be required to watch this video and - 3 Most Common Mistakes Every Moto Parent Makes - 5 Things Every Moto Parent Should Practice Before they "get serious" about moto racing. Great content and keep the videos coming.
I ride a tc 85 and im like medium speed getting faster you might say you need to be top speed as a kid that might be true im not top speed but im not slow so this is lies because I am going to go pro your going to see me pro
I know you said that a 15, 16 year old is probably not gonna make it but I feel like there's no other option for me and I know it might sound unrealistic because its the same thing my parents say, but this sport is what I want to do for the rest of my life. Even if Im about to turn 16. I just feel something I've never felt with this sport and I've also never worked harder to achieve something. So hopefully I am able to go pro. Either way if I don't make it I'll still be happy. Also great video I needed to watch it.
I’ve been riding dirtbike since I was nine I have a very supporting mom and dad and I just upgraded125 two-stroke and I know it’s kind of late to ride dirt bikes and I wanna go pro and I’m shaking to go to my first race but I’m 12 so I’m right at the age limit. But I’ve been racing bicycle since I was three so if you could help me out and tell me something if you can reply to this, that would be great.
Honestly, I’ve always wanted to go into pro motorcross, but I’m unable to because there are no tracks near me lmao. Also I’m stuck with one trail to practice on lol.
Love the videos all the education and devotion you guys put into Maki g content for us! One thing people never talk about though is how does somone get into becoming a riders mechanic. I wish I could find a way into it even if I didn't make much.
Yeah mate it’s bloody hard. I’m 15 been looking to get a dirt bike since the day I knew they existed but my parents were split and both of them hated the idea of dirt bikes. Once every couple of years I’d be able to make a friend who had one and just maybe mum would let me on it occasionally. Anyways when I was about 13 my mum got a new boyfriend who I quickly became very good mates with because he rode dirt bikes and was into cars. He helped convince my mum to let me save for one which was mind blowing but the only issue was I didn’t have a job at that time. Though experience on dirt bikes grew as I had several mates with them and got to ride them. I seemed to have a bit of natural talent because I never crashed and got the clutch down pat second try on a ttr230. Fast forward a couple years to this year and I’ve managed to get myself a job at a local motorcycle shop and was working hours on end with very little pay with the goal in my head. Since I got the job working with motorcycles my stepdad pulled out an old Gas Gas ec300 from 2004 with a few things needed on it for it to be rideable. I managed to get it fixed and we took it out the forest because he rides enduro and he let me have a go on it. I managed to kickstart it as it had no electric start and off I went. I was clicking through the gears and gunning it and the power was just incredible on it. Because it’s 2 stroke it had a nice little grunt to it being a big bore and so I quickly fell in love with it. We got back and my stepdad offered me 3000 dollars for it and I was over the moon because I finally got one. The morale of the story is the stars had to basically align for me to be even able to get a bike so going pro is damn near impossible if your circumstances aren’t right. But for anyone out there stressing about it, just enjoy the feeling of waking up early in the morning, loading the bikes up and heading to the track for a day
Hey tyler i’m 14 but an ama 13 this is my first year racing but i went from getting lapped twice a race to winning the local 85 class u think there is any hope for me to every make it even to A class or pro ams
I started when I was 10 and i think I can do some stuff that other riders my age can't do and I'm 16 you don't need to be 7 to begin to be a awesome rider
You should come to Oklahoma and do a clinic. Theres a lot of woods racers here, and youre one of the best I've seen in the woods. Would love to take a class like that from you.
I know im a year late but I have been wanting to go pro and start riding for a really long time and I mean a really long time but sadly I’m 12 do you really think I should not get a dirt bike or no
Does anyone have tips for getting faster? Like, I try to be a serious rider with training and stuff, doing moto’s and working out. But it feels like I have reached a big wall I can’t push thru. I want to go faster, and I think I can, but the progress just is not there! HELP!?
My parents never got me a dirtbike as a kid. Mom said it was too dangerous. Now I am 27 with a real job and can finally afford a used dirtbike. I got a yamaha yz450 and I want to go pro lol
I don’t know man when I ride my KX 100 I feel like I could go pro. Haha I started riding when I was four on a PW 50 but when my dad bought me a YZ 125 at 15 then I got hooked but I’m still right in the nervous class. Out here in North Texas. Was racing beginner in 2019 and this year I raced some cross country won my first woods race. I jumped in at the second round and got 24th two weeks later got eighth at rocky ridge and two weeks later I won it at twin hills. I daydream about being a pro and selling dirt bikes by winning championships a lot but I don’t ride my bicycle near enough. I haven’t even won my first championship. And I’m 20. Are my chances slim, yes, but they are not zero. Don’t quit
@@bunnyman6321 nope. Tore cartilage and acl January 2022 and got surgery last September been rehabbing. No riding. Rebuilding motors. Well destroying them really. I accidentally cracked my left side crankcase on my YZ125 2005 I’m looking for one. Man I’m so mad at myself!
@@bunnyman6321 thanks and I wish you the same goodwill. There’s a lot I would tell myself. Possibly one thing I would say is this two word phrase which applies to everything in life. Pay attention. I wish I’d have paid more attention. Examples being checking my oil before riding and it’ll save you from blowing a bottom end. Also wear your protective gear helmet , boots, I wear wrist braces and knee braces due to injuries left wrist and right knee are messed up. But I can still ride! Braces help you ride 100% because you feel invincible. But the most important thing is pay attention, and listen.
What so your saying i could hope on a bike and not become successful at 12 i highly doubt i got my first bike at 14 and go pretty good at it just need to keep it up
Sucks because as a black kid our parents always wanted us play football and bball didn’t get into dirtbikes until I was 15 and I’m 21 now would’ve been cool to race

Sorry this is such a long comment. Which bike do you reccomendations for a good first/beginner bike for 14 year old that is 5'5 and 115 lbs? I'm looking for a four stroke that I could use to ride at my house and something I could take to both tracks and trails to practice riding. I'm thinking either a klx140l, drz125l, ttr125le, or a crf150f. For anyone who responds, thank you and have a great day!
Man is the 1st race always supposed to be bad? Like I crashed at the start and was behind everyone with put so my pressure on me. I started going off the track. Also getting stuck behind this dude.
I’m 15 years old and I have been riding scene I was 4 I have never raced but wonder if I could make it what do you think please let me know! By the way love the vids!
OH MY GOD literally same age and been riding since I was four and never raced but I want to race professionally I don’t care how much money I make even if it is next to literally nothing I just want to race professionally, so since I’ve decided that two weeks ago I’ve been going to the gym lifting weights (low weight high rep) riding the stationary bike for a good period of time like yesterday I did 21 minutes and about a heart rate of 170bpm and an insane core work out
the no support from family and the backlash is honestly what drives me but i also ride with a lot of emotion which will be my downfall unless i change it. i ride with a lot of hate and resentment ngl. in turn makes me ride aggressive and careless.
what would you recommend if I am a 15 year old with no job who ends up paying to enter their own races how should I go about still being able to make it out to the races?
@@JR_Diesel you're wrong. snapped it in half, then had to wait for an ambulance, i was put on a spine board then a police truck to the ambulance because it could not get to the spot i was in, then i was driven to the nearest hospital which was 45 mins away to get X-rays and IV's put in, then transported in to another hospital where i got my surgery for a titanium rod, to then way 7 months to get released. if you still dont believe me then i dont know what to say but you have never raced or rode a dirt bike and have never broken a bone

Any updates on your Sons?
Dang. Was really hoping you'd say I can go Pro at the age of 30.
Success is measured by the goals you value. I agree those goals need to be realistic or you never feel like you have accomplished anything. However, such goals always need to be re-evaluated as you progress, the only constant in life is change.
I enjoy the videos. Please keep them coming. I am the grandma of a young racer that has a passion and talent for motocross, Thank you.
I've been dreaming about going pro and I coming to visit you guys soon🤙
i like this guy cause he is just straight up he not feeding you bullshit and telling everybody u r going to make it and being a yes man ans i can respect that
I think the one most overlooked think is talent is only the beginning support all around is a big thing an commitment...i worked a bunch of good pros in the 90s an they were all ready in possession of the whole package of winning races...just as they did their first races....they were ready....some most already loretta lynns champions try an get to lorrettas dont over look it i never knew what it was till i was much older....even helping these young pro first year riders i still didnt know how important it was to go at least go one time...this is ur competion.... at LL s
Hi I love you videos but my parents won’t let me get a dirt bike keep up the awesome work
You will get one someday man. Took me 15 years to be able to get one. And I had to buy it with every single penny of my own money
Sebastian Moreno thanks
Sebastian Moreno I can see my parents perspective but I just think it would be so much fun. I already deal with stress and anxiety and I fell like that would be a place for me to escape
When I was younger, my family wasn't in a position to get me a dirt bike. I was 21 when I got my first dirt bike. Start saving up money now and keep your goals in mind. You'll get one eventually, and it's super rewarding when you've earned every last penny of it! Some people are more fortunate than others in that way, but it doesn't mean you'll never have one. Hang in there!
You get a dirt bike yet?
I used to want to be a professional athlete or rider but to compete at the top levels you have to sacrifice alot such as social life, childhood time, education and friends. And at that point you realise sometimes you want to have a bit of both and decide you just want to race club championship levels. Because after you are done with racing you may have little friends outside of racing or job opportunities.
Sacrifice comes with everything that demands discipline. If you want to be a doctor or lawyer you'll be sacrificing like was a athlete.
I want to go pro and I understand that it doesn't happen overnight but if I set my mind to it and I put in the work I could probably do it I started on a 85 and moved right up to a 250 we'll see what happened if I don't make it at least I had fun trying
You made it pro?
do you think a 17 yro can go pro if enough work it put in?
If you’re an older person and you just want to participate in a race or two. What do you have to do to get your license? Just so you can race a particular race. And I’m talking about just an amateur person that wants to try a professional race for the experience.
Appreciate your videos currently trying to get my son into this
Tyler, your content is valuable.
65ft triple on a kx 80🫢, what was your riding level back then?
I am 18 and looking at doing it as a hobby, I already rider a honda shadow 750 aero and used to ride a two stroke through the woods harder than the local motocross riders are willing too. Do you think there is any chance in me having a successful enough hobby where it can finance itself if I practice enough??
I think the parents and their son or daughter mini racer should be required to watch this video and

Before they "get serious" about moto racing.
Thanks for the support!
@@TheMxFactory For sure, thats the second time you guys have responded to my comment, nice.
You make it pro?
@@bunnyman6321 fuck no 🤣👎👎
Applicable to any sports really, this video should be watched by every parent that want to make their kids a champ in any domain.
Hey im 13 and my perant wpnt let me race cos of mpney and time but i really want to race what should i do
Honestly, I’ve always wanted to go into pro motorcross, but I’m unable to because there are no tracks near me lmao. Also I’m stuck with one trail to practice on lol.
Love this! would love to see some super mini or smaller bike content
Very interesting and very considerate of you guys to take the time and explain all that 👍😊
The most emotional mx video, ever
I've been riding dirt bikes, since I was 4 years old,10 years. But recently I've only been able to ride every other weekend. And it's winter already.
Love the videos all the education and devotion you guys put into Maki g content for us! One thing people never talk about though is how does somone get into becoming a riders mechanic. I wish I could find a way into it even if I didn't make much.
You figured it out yet?
But for anyone out there stressing about it, just enjoy the feeling of waking up early in the morning, loading the bikes up and heading to the track for a day
For me i take it as a hobby and have fun👍
I'm 13 and I started riding when I was 12 and I have improved a lot and im really pushing to be really good
Any updates?
Hey tyler i’m 14 but an ama 13 this is my first year racing but i went from getting lapped twice a race to winning the local 85 class u think there is any hope for me to every make it even to A class or pro ams
You can do whatever you put your mind to. Hit the gym a lot and hit up some Loretta Lynn’s qualifiers next year.
Great video!! I would love to see you guys jump the less powered, trail bikes on a track. I have been told it is very different. Thank you!
thanks for the idea!
Yes, learn how to properly case jumps!😆👊
I've been riding since 3 but only started racing at 14 and I was the best at the track
Love your videos, have helped me A LOT
happy to help!
I started when I was 10 and i think I can do some stuff that other riders my age can't do and I'm 16 you don't need to be 7 to begin to be a awesome rider
Any updates?
Could y’all maybe do a video on winter storage for dirt bikes for us “6 months out of the year it’s cold” guys 😂
You figure the storage thing out?
You should come to Oklahoma and do a clinic. Theres a lot of woods racers here, and youre one of the best I've seen in the woods. Would love to take a class like that from you.
Send us an email let’s make that happen! Mxfactory254@gmail.com
I am going pro in Australia for the 85 and 65 class in the king of mx
I know im a year late but I have been wanting to go pro and start riding for a really long time and I mean a really long time but sadly I’m 12 do you really think I should not get a dirt bike or no
Great information thank you 😊
Does this apply to harescrambles like gncc
Can you guys do a what’s in my gear bag video please
Does anyone have tips for getting faster? Like, I try to be a serious rider with training and stuff, doing moto’s and working out. But it feels like I have reached a big wall I can’t push thru. I want to go faster, and I think I can, but the progress just is not there! HELP!?
You should make a video of riding a trail bike on jumps
Jeremy Thomas trail bikes don’t ride on jumps
Alec Wade Ik but it would be cool to see that
And it could be helpful for people who can’t afford a race bike and want to get on some little jumps
My parents never got me a dirtbike as a kid. Mom said it was too dangerous. Now I am 27 with a real job and can finally afford a used dirtbike. I got a yamaha yz450 and I want to go pro lol
where was all this good advice 50 years ago when i started on my yamaha YZ80B ,,,, lol now 61 still rider and teaching myself skills
I don’t know man when I ride my KX 100 I feel like I could go pro. Haha
I started riding when I was four on a PW 50 but when my dad bought me a YZ 125 at 15 then I got hooked but I’m still right in the nervous class.
Don’t quit
You make it pro?
@@bunnyman6321 nope. Tore cartilage and acl January 2022 and got surgery last September been rehabbing. No riding. Rebuilding motors. Well destroying them really. I accidentally cracked my left side crankcase on my YZ125 2005 I’m looking for one. Man I’m so mad at myself!
@Donald Donaldson Damn. Get well and live well.
Knowing what you know now what advice would you give you younger self pertaining to mx?
@@donalddonaldson7211 Thank you!
That's excellent advice!
Where do you go from here?
Can I get gears for my birthday this december?
Can you do a video of cluchless shifting please thanks! 👍
Hi ! Can you do a tutoriel of how to lean bike ? I'm a beginner and I always turn with the handlebar. ( I'm french so excuse my english spelling ^^ )
What so your saying i could hope on a bike and not become successful at 12 i highly doubt i got my first bike at 14 and go pretty good at it just need to keep it up
wish my parents wouldve let me start riding alot earlier prolly wouldve been alot better
Yup
Im movin to texas soon and my mom and I we have been looking for motocross tracks and you guys are stationed in Austin right?
You guys are awesome, love the videos👍
Sucks because as a black kid our parents always wanted us play football and bball didn’t get into dirtbikes until I was 15 and I’m 21 now would’ve been cool to race
Yes sir thank you !
Hell I'm 20 years old I've been riding since I was 6but I've never really rode track.. is it to late for me?
You control your own destiny. No matter what anybody says if you don’t think it’s to late....... it’s not
Can I start racing at 19? I live on my own and have my own place and my own bike. I live in South Carolina
I'm 12 and I want to make it to AMA supercross and I'm just starting but I have the motivation and the money and we live in Utah I was also very comfortable jumping and going though berms on my old bike that I got when I was ten but this is the first year I will racewhat do you think my chance of making it are?
So what's the latest age to join motocross
We race for fun... ✊😠 Brraaap Pa Pow 💨
yeahhhhhhh💪
That’s just sad.
@@601braap2 what's sad 🤷♂️
Sorry this is such a long comment. Which bike do you reccomendations for a good first/beginner bike for 14 year old that is 5'5 and 115 lbs? I'm looking for a four stroke that I could use to ride at my house and something I could take to both tracks and trails to practice riding. I'm thinking either a klx140l, drz125l, ttr125le, or a crf150f. For anyone who responds, thank you and have a great day!
Crf100f or crf125r
@@CrfMateoo thank you!
So what about endurocross?
Who do you think would win you jaydin or danger boy of Huckson
Man is the 1st race always supposed to be bad? Like I crashed at the start and was behind everyone with put so my pressure on me. I started going off the track. Also getting stuck behind this dude.
Love your videos!!!
Real talk 🤙
Please make more of these
This was sick, thank you
I’m 15 years old and I have been riding scene I was 4 I have never raced but wonder if I could make it what do you think please let me know! By the way love the vids!
OH MY GOD literally same age and been riding since I was four and never raced but I want to race professionally I don’t care how much money I make even if it is next to literally nothing I just want to race professionally, so since I’ve decided that two weeks ago I’ve been going to the gym lifting weights (low weight high rep) riding the stationary bike for a good period of time like yesterday I did 21 minutes and about a heart rate of 170bpm and an insane core work out
Buttery Boi right on man don’t give up
the no support from family and the backlash is honestly what drives me but i also ride with a lot of emotion which will be my downfall unless i change it. i ride with a lot of hate and resentment ngl. in turn makes me ride aggressive and careless.
Love this!!
what would you recommend if I am a 15 year old with no job who ends up paying to enter their own races how should I go about still being able to make it out to the races?
Mow lawns that’s what i do
Buttery Boi I mean I have a little job where I work for my grandpa but I also have school and stuff to do to so I can’t work very much
Yes so helpful
I finally got my first dirt bike at 22, and riding runs in the family. Is it to late?
You’ve got about 8-10 years to make it happen. Make it happen.
Nathan Bills thanks man, I’m definitely gonna try!

I just got released yesterday to ride again after braking my Femur in half
Been there bro 🤟🏻 twice 😬

@@JR_Diesel you're wrong. snapped it in half, then had to wait for an ambulance, i was put on a spine board then a police truck to the ambulance because it could not get to the spot i was in, then i was driven to the nearest hospital which was 45 mins away to get X-rays and IV's put in, then transported in to another hospital where i got my surgery for a titanium rod, to then way 7 months to get released. if you still dont believe me then i dont know what to say but you have never raced or rode a dirt bike and have never broken a bone
I wish most people would think like that, not everyone dose
