Sending love, I also have Dysautonomia and POTS, isn’t it fun?😂 I’m so glad you have such a great helper, Baron gives me the freedom to live alone and go out without worry.🐾
I'm so sorry about your experience. Could you report that airport guy who was supposed to help you? Please don't apologize! Your health comes first. I'm so sorry it's been rough. I am hoping for better days ahead. Sending a lot of love!!
Sorry u had such a rough week & then the airport nightmare!!! I don’t think I ever want to even consider ever taking a plane again especially w/ a SD! I had a bad health wk too & had my 1st PA issue (my 1st SD & I lived in AZ, TX then CO & in 8 yrs never had an issue. My SDiT & I have been doing PA work for 1 1/2 yrs here in FL w/o a problem). Because my physical/emotional health was @ a all time low I caved - I could barely advocate for our rights! I didn’t pull out my ADA law cards, or bring them up on my phone & the thought of calling & waiting for the cops to get there was crippling- I just didn’t have any fight in me! I went hm & went to bed! After a couple of hrs the anger started building - unfortunately most of it was towards myself for wimping out & not fighting for our rights (& for other teams that followed us). The next day the contacted Corp headquarters & had the most excellent outcome! Now I’m glad I waited 24 hrs to calm down, gather my thoughts & present my case like a rational level headed citizen. (the district mgr drove over an hour to the location & pulled the CCTV footage before confronting his employee! I’m so glad I stayed calm & respectful to his employee!!!). Now that it’s over …just another training opportunity for us…one that I don’t want to repeat! I know I’m blessed- 10 yrs as a SD handler w/o a problem was pretty unbelievable…but it happens to all of us eventually! I thought i would have been prepared for it which I wasn’t & that’s what’s bothering me the most. But even though my anxiety went through the roof, my SDiT stayed calm & her behavior was perfect ( she is not trained for anxiety mitigation…but that is now on our training priority list). I’m sorry this comment is so long but it’s so good to be able to vent in the SD community & have had the opportunity to learn from y’all’s experience! Hope everyone stays safe & positive & GOD bless & protect our precious Service Dogs!🐾
Thankyou for your sweet comment… advocating for my self is something I struggle with because it’s so shocking and the most unexpected situations sometimes and it takes u back 😞 I’m glad you handled it so well💗🐾💗🐾💗🐾 stay blessed 💗🐾💗🐾💗🐾
Were you at the Will Rodgers airport in Oklahoma? I've been there many times and it's HUGE! My family kept getting lost and when we got back from Florida my cousin drove to the wrong pickup area so we had to walk all the way across the airport to where she was and she drove back to the place we were before so we had to walk all the way back... My poor aunt with COPD was pretty much dying and it sounded like she was about to cough up her lung and then my grandma slipped and fell it was a total nightmare but it was funny as heck. Then when we were getting in the car we realized there wasn't enough room for us all so I had to lay in the trunk with all of our luggage... This is why I hate vacations.
So sorry this happened. I am debating trining my dogs for service for me but the crap and treatment of people with special needs is what is stopping me. Good luck!
Hello! I am planning to bring my service dog on board a 11/12 hour flight from JFK NY to Vilnius. Since this is going to be their first flight, should I consider a dog diaper for it? Thank you!
@@asecretcourtofcrowsandcloc4084 she is actually my second. My first had early retirement do to a developed health condition I have been a service dog handler for 3 years now 😊
@@TheServiceDogDiaries congratulations on having two dogs so far. I’m fascinated by all the different types of service dogs particularly the lesser ones. I fell a few three dog handler‘s here in RUclips that have service dogs for dysautonomia related conditions. I think it’s awesome that they’re able to be so medically helpful and life saving.
I slide Denver all the time and the pet relief area is absolutely disgusting trust me it doesn’t get better and I highly doubt it ever gets cleaned I have already reported their pet relief area multiple times because I to have a Service dog but of course they don’t give a shit
How do you even teach that? My dogs understand 'go potty" but like the other day I said it inside (in a sentence lol) and someone went 'don't say that in here!' But thankfully my dog knows she's supposed to go outside ...but that could be a problem for flying
@@lailahepburnandmischka I just got lucky. When we travel, she can hold it like non other. My problem is she won’t go in dirt/gravel like at a made up dog relief space. She needs grass or even better pachysandra 😂😂😂. We were in Manhattan and now in Chicago and she will not go on concrete…I stopped worrying about it
You're voice is too soft for me to hear. Despite having my volume up to it's highest setting. Even the close-caption would not report your words, except one or two....
the struggle with flying with a service dog is real, so for me and my family, we have opted to take grey hounds or trains or rent a car. The amount of disorganized TSA lines, and undertrained staff is just unacceptable for them having been in business for way too long. The amount the air lines cost is completely unrealistic to have to deal with these issues. But I also know that that is not an option for every one or timing does not allow for ground travel or in not available by ground, but I really hope things went well after this fiasco. Personally I would rather charter a ferry than have these sorts of issues, good on you for getting through it well.
I hate you had to go through that. Super job Lola. Love her harness. I need one like that.

Can any type of dog be a service dog? Or is it just certain breeds?
Any breed as long as it’s not a wolf 🐺 I would read the American with disability Act online it’s ADA.gov and then look for the service dog section
