Ridley is a multipurpose service dog in training. She is task trained to mitigate my psychiatric and physical disabilities. She is granted public access rights to enter non-pet friendly places via The Americans With Disabilities Act and California Disabled Persons Act. Bringing non-service dogs into non pet friendly establishments is illegal. Faking a service dog is a federal crime, and a misdemeanor in many states punishable by $1k+ in fines and jail time. Please do your research before bringing your dog into public to find out if they are pet friendly. Target. Walmart, Disneyland, and any store/establishment that sells food is NOT pet friendly.
''ridley stop staring at me your making me think i'm going to die '' very true when our service\assitince dogs stare us in the eyes for more than 14 lol
@Lady Day I mean she is a service dog that needs to be paying attention to her handler to make sure CJ is not dying and to keep her focus
@Lady Day yeah bc she has to focus to do her job, she was literally joking 😐
i felt the need to acknowledge the 14 meme.
Couple months ago there was a service dog in the aisle next to me and halfway though the flight he just payed on his owners lap and kept staring at me. I never saw one on a plane before and was shocked on how great he was behaving. Service dogs are just unimaginably special
She did so good for her first time!
🤐
I watched ever second of this even though it’s 2 in the morning and I have school tomorrow. Great video! I’m going to Disney with my SD next weekend and I’m so excited!
Is your dog's name Athena!? My border collie is named Athena haha it's what she came with. I call her teeny Tina ❤️
Carlie Flowers yep! Her nick name is Lady A (she is a goddess) or the littlest golden (she is really small compared to my Bernese)
@@maddieolsen4664 awww that's so cool ❤️ I subbed you lol love goldens and definitely want one in my life someday 😍
Carlie Flowers thank you!
Hope you wore a mask
I’m a first time handler and seeing this video made me feel SO much better 😭 hearing you ask for her to watch you, saying leave it, and asking her to slow down makes me feel so relived. In my mind I thought they had to be perfect before they could go anywhere. This video was eye opening. Thank you for being so real with us !
I had to ask for the bulkhead seats. My GSD is a PTSD/Diabetic service dog but he he so big we couldn't fit him in the regular seats. Great video
Such well trained and obedient doggos ! :)
Such pretty dogs!! I just wanna squish their cheeks! When they aren’t working of course :)

I love this video! Good to know before traveling with my service dog!
Such beautiful dogs. I love their vests. Hope you had an amazing time xxx
I love the gauges! The Service dogs are so cute and so well trained! Very proud of them.
They did amazing, my girl is overcoming some slight issues with elevators but she has been 10/10 on escalators and trains
@Cosmic sudrrs yes its me
@denise hagerty same but they are a lot safer than escalators
Can I ask how you worked through the elevator issues? I've taken my SDiT on an elevator for the first time and she started panicking a little (constantly trying to find a way out). For right now, I'm just sitting in our tiny bathroom playing elevator noises to start desensitizing her.
@@volcanopro7461 it might not be the noises but how it feels... use lots of treats and praise maybe even a toy to distract her. my dog would just panic and try to run toward the door. what i did with her was ride the elevator up and down lots of times to let her get used to the feeling and giving her praise and pets since thats what she likes most. i let her sniff around and i tried to make her as comfortable as possible showing her the elevator isnt scary.
@@LoanLeaf Thank you so much for the reply! I definitely will try to use this method!
I love these videos so much! I angers me whenever I see the ads on videos like these that are like: “register your pet to be an emotional support pet so you can ‘legally’ bring them into stores “ ugh I believe to leave pets at home, and if you actually need your service animal to save your life, they can always be welcome :)
Love your vids!!!
i love seeing what service dogs do, and dogs are so smart, helping people in so many ways
I love this type of content just people vibing with their service dogs
Oh my goodness, such a beautiful dog. I'm getting my prospect soon. Have a wonderful day!!!!:)

I'm going to be getting a German shepherd service dog in the future for my ptsd and your videos are really helpful to me :))
the way the puppers cuddle at landing soooo cute!
Omg ridley is so cute! Such a baby!!! I love how good they are to help:D
Thank you for making these videos! I have a service Dane, and for so long I have felt all alone! You have really helped me a lot!
Hi Deona, that’s so awesome to hear! unfortunately due to certain circumstances i not longer make youtube videos, but i still see comments and just know i appreciate them so much! i wish you and your dane the absolute best
Didnt know Maligators suit as service dogs since they are so hyperactive . She is SO beautiful and such a good girl❤❤her harness is👌👌with all the poppies

Ridley did so well on the plane! Awesome video!

I love the leashes you used in the airport. Where did you get them? I recently flew with Bella my SD and I gave her ice to eat during take off and landing for her ears. Worked very well for her. Can you link the other SD team you were traveling with instagram/ youtube? Loved the video. First one of yours I have seen. :) Have a great day :)

I’m doing the exact same thing ! California to the UK 😩 prepping 😂
@@alyxanne5442 if flying into Heathrow make sure you contact HARC no later than 72 hours before your flight to get a pre-approval letter for your SD. Especially if owner trained or they will charge you £410 fee. They will consider it an illegal landing into the country. Even though they have owner trained dogs the airlines only recognize dogs trained by organizations linked with ADI and ADUK. If you have a program dog you may not have any issues. Best of luck on your flight!
@@amandaowens1008 thank you! Yeah the airline I’m flying with requires I reach out to the HARC at least 7 days before. I sent them everything already and I’m just waiting to hear back, it’s so frustrating. He is owner trained /: best of luck to you !!!!
@@alyxanne5442 ok thank you and may I ask what you sent them? I have our certificates of passing beginner through advanced obedience and our CGC. I can’t think of anything else to help prove anything besides sending video clips lol!
@@amandaowens1008 I think I may end up having to pay the fine or something. They are extremely hard to get ahold of and I’ve reached out a few times with no response and it’s infuriating. Since I trained him myself (and at first I didn’t even get him with the intention of him being a service animal, but he had great potential) I would say just send any type of documents/certificates you may have. The UK is ridiculously strict on what passes as an assistance animal. If they ask for anything else maybe then the clips? When are you flying ?
I love your shots! Great video. 👍

Do you have a link for the travel backpack for the service dog? thank you so much!
I’m m traveling with my SD in 3 weeks, did they let you bring your pups treats on the plane with you? Or is it not allowed like it would be for human food

How do you decide whether or not your service dog is ready for a place
To cute when dog gave the other dog kisses to cute.
I don't have a SD but I think that I might get one when I'm older so this is really helpful to learn all these things. I love your dog so much so cute! I hope that my future SD will be as awesome as yours!
What do you need a service dog for if you don’t mind me asking?
@@lifewithahound I totally don’t mind!
I get chronic migraines so they would alert for that. I also have anxiety so they would help with that. I get really bad dizzy spells so helping with mobility. All that kind of stuff.
Hopefully that answered your question! :)
Excuse me, i love your channel!!, and i'm actually looking for new gear for my service dog, where did you get your from?
I love your dog
I wonder if when the dogs were on the flight. And were sleeping, if they were touching each other to stay calm since the dogs were friends.
The struggle of the animal relief area being in inconvenient locations. Ugh. Minneapolis-St. Paul has it centrally located next to the main security check-point and stairs down to baggage. We always go once we cross security and first thing when we land. My home airport in San Antonio is the worst it's located at the far end of one of the terminals and I often fly out/in of the second terminal, so I have to cross basically the whole airport.
She’s a German Shepherd what a sweetheart she’s so cute
She's actually a Belgian Malinois 👀 But they are similar breeds, though German Shepard's have the sloped back while the Belgian Malinois doesn't.
@@spazzetastic Nope, she's a German Shepherd mix, per the handler. And no again, not all GSDs have "slopes", going on structure alone is not a good way to identify a breed.
These dogs are the best of friends.
they are still the best of friends to this day and will be living together soon
@@theservicehyena3088 How nice, glad for the dogs, and you guys will be living together soon.
I love the vest. Where did you get it?
Whats the reason you have a SD? I really want to get one for my anxiety, I just started noticing it but it mostly when I go out. Im really nervous to go back to school bc I go to a bigger school, I feel like everyone judges me and stares at me. Every whisper I hear its about me and my body. I haven’t told my parents bc im super sensitive and emotional and scared what they will respond with.
she is a multipurpose service dog for both my medical and psych disabilities. i will say having anxiety with a service dog is VERY difficult. people stare and talk about you WAY more, so that is not easy to deal with when you already have anxiety. you can talk to your doctor or therapist and see if it would be a hood treatment option for you, and what tasks they can provide for you to mitigate it, but i do make sure to warn people that it WILL make your anxiety worse before it gets better. you’ve gotta get used to even more stares, comments, strangers talking to you and asking (sometime invasive) questions, etc
@@theservicehyena3088 thank you so much! Ive already been thinking about the tasks that a sd would help me with such as croud control ( walking around me so no one will get super close ) and trying to distract me form my anxiety. Thank you for the info!
@@theservicehyena3088 I know this was an answer to them, but this is also very helpful to me. I’m just starting the process of getting a PSD so it’s helpful to be prepared for this. You guys are such a great team :D
I enjoyed your video but I do have a question, you seem to have a few things around your service dog necks and I’m wondering if they get heavy on them ?
Hey I know this wasn't a question for me but as a SD handler it depends they can be heavy but that's why it's important to buy light weight gear in this video the gear used won't feel heavy to the dogs though I know it seems like it would but it's more like wearing a necklace than anything else
I’ve never been on a plane but that looks terrifying
I would have to say the worst part of flying is take off and landing. It is not scary at all.
@@Brittany.Anderson people have their opinions
Brittany Anderson the end is the best for me it feels like a roller coaster
Jahlisa Cadogan literally it’s so fun idk how ppl can be scared
I was scared my first time. I also sometimes still get scared during takeoff and landing. During the flight, it's usually pretty boring.

What do you have to get to make your dog a service dog. I suffer from a few illnesses and hope to train my dog when they’re a little older. Love your channel btw!
If you are in the US, have a disability, and a dog that has basic training and knows a task to help you with said disability, note that there are no registrations or certifications for them and they don’t need to be identified.
@@crazydogperson3409 thank you so much!!
@@crash0602 no problem 😁
@@crazydogperson3409 my consoler/therapist recommended I get an ESA since I did my homework he agrees a PSD would be the best option for me.
A bit late but if you plan to train yourself, I would talk to a professional who specializes in training service dogs. They'll be able to check out your dog to make sure they're fit for service work (since not every dog would be cut out for it) and help you with training ever need it.
Does the air pressure bother the dog's ears like it does most humans? D: I hope not. My ears are always sore and itchy after a plane ride
there’s a bit of debate back and forth on whether or not it does. for our flights i give ridley something to chew on for both take off and landing as that’s said to help relieve the pressure a bit, just like humans can chew gum to help!
What would you give a dog to chew on to help, just a toy? Rawhide? Ridley and his buddy seem totally unbothered by it, at least!
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Can you PLEASE do training tips
I have a question, what 8s the yellow coller looking item on Ridly's neck? P.S. i am new to this chanle.
hey, it’s just a two inch thick collar! it has “do not pet” embroidered on it, and it helped keep her old prong from slipping to low on her neck since she was between sized and it was a tad too loose!
was the husky a service do?
Can you link below the leashes y’all use and the vest? Thanks !!
hey! unfortunately both our vests are custom made, and the shop that made the leash i use closed down.
Amazing video! If I may ask why was your dogs tail dyed?
hey! i originally looked into dying her tail to help people step on it less. she has a very long tail and when she was younger she wasn’t good about tucking it in when she sat/laid down, so it got stepped on often. we dyed it pink to help people see it easier! now that she’s older it’s not as big a deal, but i still do it for fun! we use vegan pet safe dye from Opawz :)
@@theservicehyena3088 Ah Okay thank you, I had never seen a SD with a dyed tail before haha, Thanks!

i have ptsd and i’m gonna get a service dog soon. what dog should i get? i want a big dog with a bit of hair like a lab or something?!
Labs are great! Pits are great too, but you are likely to get more PA issues because of their stereo types.

I don't have a SD but I want one for panic disorder and anxiety
where did you get ridly's service dog vest from
I saw a comment saying this and she replied saying she designed it and a shop called patience and love made it
@@Hollys.Housee k thx
Why is the one dogs tail red?
If you don’t mind me asking why one of the dogs have a pink tail
i don't mind! its pet safe dye from the brand Opawz. i originally began dying her tail to help people see it easier and step on it less. but its also just something that suits her and she's known for it, and she doesn't mind me doing it at all! dye can also help prevent pet theft!
Why did you name her Ridley?
Today I was flying to California I reached now but I saw a service dog it was a husky and then a small dog barked who I knew wasn’t a SD because they were going to like put the dog in the cage in the plane but then the other husky barked back so would you say that’s a real SD because I didn’t really hink
it could’ve been a service dog in training, or simply a service dog who made a mistake. dogs are not robots and even my girl has had trouble in the past with other dogs who were reactive towards her as well. i would say the degree that the dog barked back and whether or not they were corrected and gotten back under control would’ve determined it’s legitimacy as a service dog.
@@theservicehyena3088 thank you for educating me more I’m very young but I’m obsessed with dogs so that’s why I’m learning about SD’s so I can know which to be okay to pet!

@@brealeighh I have a channel but barley post on it 😂
Poor rid she got hit in the face with a suitcase 😚🤣
I have really bad anxiety. I also have pain attacks very often and everything I tried doesn’t help. Would a service dog help me?
hi! this would be a question for a doctor. from my personal experience, service dogs make your anxiety worse before they make it better. you will constantly have strangers staring at and talking to you. service dogs attract a lot of unwanted attention in public. once you get used to it, it’s not so bad. but like i said, i know for me personally and many other handlers it makes anxiety in public a lot worse before it makes it better.
if your anxiety is disabling and you do think a service dog would be a good treatment option, talk to your doctor about what tasks a service dog could be trained to do to help you
@@theservicehyena3088 ok thank you. Yeah, when people get close to me or like just invade my space, I start to get very anxious. Thank you so much!
i would like to know this for when i get my service dog, did you have to pay for her luggage when going on the flight?
i don't suggest packing a whole bag just for your SD but just back their stuff in with yours. depending on the airline you may have to pay for the checked back. i suggest flying with southwest
@@lucywyke-smith7295 thank you so much
Where do you get service dogs? Do they come from a system, or do you train a regular dog?
Both of those options are good and perfectly legal in the US
@@ivylikeleaf oh im in the uk lol
Do I need anything like paper work to travel with my sdit
Hi! so The laws recently changed and there now is paperwork that you must fill out at least 48 hours prior to your flight. certain airlines require you to send it in ahead of time, other airlines will just present when you arrive at the airport. i’m happy to link a copy of the papers you must fill out
www.southwest.com/assets/pdfs/customer_service/Service-Animal-Form-2105.pdf
First time here....why is ridley's tail all red/pink?
hey! it’s been regularly dyed pink for over a year now. originally it was to help jeep people from stepping on her tail as it’s very long and often blends into the group bc of the color. also it’s just a fun thing to do and she doesn’t mind it!
12:51
skaba skaba skaba lol
Was the husky a service dog?
No
Hi there! I love this vid. Ridley seems like such a lovely pup❤️ I was wondering if you get a lot of comments on her tail being dyed? I want to dye my SDIT front paws bc they are white, but I’m worried I will get lots of judgment on it being “cruel”. I’m trying to get lots of opinions to see if it would be a good idea, I absolutely hate conflict and don’t feel comfortable talking to strangers about my SD or anything else for that matter. Thanks for your video, I hope you have a great week✨
I don't have a SD, so i dont know how others respond, but in my opinion it's really cute! If you're worried about people asking maybe put a patch on their vest? (If they wear one)
just ignore it tbh, we get comments on how it’s cruel for her to even be working 24/7 people are just dumb 🙄
@@theserviceraven yeah, I get those too😅 I think this summer I may try it
Can I ask what is with Ridley's tail?
People usually die their service dogs in some way so if they get lost or stolen they would be easier to find.
For example, there would be higher chances for someone to find your dog if you said "A German shepherd with a pink tail" versus "A German shepherd"
