Crystal when we travel airlines we used too, I would do a pill before boarding and it would make me drowsy and it helped but I do have mild epilepsy which the meds help I am scared of flying 100 percent

She said she does use the love and logic for parenting!
I really liked how Crystal actually explained what they were doing while they were going through the process leading up to flying. My first time flying alone was a business trip to Jamaica and I had a ton of anxiety because I had no idea what I was doing and had to stay there for a month. These are very important life lessons and it's just a step in helping him become independent one day.

I am so proud of Rylan, he did so good and acted so mature. I also love how amazing of a dad Aaron is with the kids he's always so loving and kind with the kids.
I'm glad Rylan had a good first flight.. I think it helped a lot that you kept letting him know what to expect and what was going to happen next.. I had a few surgeries over the years and it helped me not be so nervous (especially as a kid), if everything is explained beforehand..

All 3 of those kids are so amazing after all they endured . They some how came out the other side well behaved, respectful young kids !! So proud of them all. And having your whole families love and acceptance has done so much for them.

As someone who has anxiety, I'm getting very anxious and nauseous just by seeing how nervous Rylan is. It's like I can feel what he's going through.
I also have anxiety and I fly many but my anxiety still hit me every time I fly and now getting worse that why I am applying for a service dog
This is honestly one of my favourite vlogs, I have watched this 3 times already. I love flying, travel and I also love surprising my nephews etc with trips and stuff. And Rylan is such an epic lil dude! I love his reactions!

Rylan, I love aircraft and have flown many of times but I am just like you, always nerves, belly flops, can't focus. I am not scared of heights or crashing just scared of fire and being somewhere I can't get out like up in the air. My fav part is taking off and landing which most people don't like.
It will get easier the more you do it. Proud of you!
I also love flying! It’s to the point where I miss the start and landing because I sleep. Probably it’s gotten to normal.
When my nephews was going to ride the plane for the first time. I took them down the roughest, bumpiest street in or town and they were rocking and bouncing all over and I told them this is how turbulence feels. We go on the plane and they were cool as polar bears during turbulence as I death gripped the armrests. :)
So happy Rylan is not so nervous on flights and he had a great experience. Have fun in Vegas!

Ermahgawd I wiiissshhhh my mom would have ever been like, you get to miss school to go on a flight! I never got to miss school even when I was sick unless I had a fever or worse. I'm so glad you guys took this trip. I'm lucky in that I don't have a lot of fears like flying, or heights, or whatever, but I've been around people who do, and it can be really rough. It's nice to have someone calmly talk you through the situation and just reassure you, *it's probably going to be okay!

The technique you mentioned of asking a lot of questions is not only good with flying but anything when someone is scared including medical stuff. It forces the brain to focus on the conversation. Great distraction!

Bella was definitely very anxious about Rylan going without her, must bring on so many triggers and past horrible Memoires and not being there with him for his first flight and to help him :( I think bringing Bella would have helped a lot but maybe some seperation from the both of them might do her good, so she knows her brothers will always be coming back to her
Rylan, you did excellent. Looking out the window is so much better than sitting in the middle seat. It's a good thing when your first flight is smooth going. I hope you guys had an awesome time in Vegas.

Glad it was a smooth and fun flight for him!! My first flight (that I remember anyway as I did fly as a baby because my dad was in the Army) was from home (Upstate NY at the time) to Seattle. I was about Ryland's age. My mom traveled for her job and got permission to take me with her over my spring break and she added a couple extra days to the trip. Was so much fun!! Glad he is more comfortable!

Yeah im totally scared of flying. But have been on so many flights. Too many to count. I shake and my palms get all sweaty, hyperventilate a little bit and in some case get sick before hand. Its very stressful and overwhelming, and just always keeping me distracted is the best thing for me
Flying scares me too! Even after many flights, I still am nervous as heck. Few months ago I took my longest flight ever to Australia from California, USA. 15 Hours!

I flew 4 times as a kid- all before age 8. On my last trip, I got deathly sick and that put the fear of god in me for flying. Along with some other things that have happened over the years. I haven't been on a plane in 40 years. And my family has tried to get me back on one. I really do want to fly, but I can't get myself back on a plane. I also get motion sick so that doesn't help me. That is why I have driven across the country 2 times in 3 years...
That’s the best thing u can do with someone with anxiety as someone who has severe panick attacks when someone keeps asking questions and getting me to talk about something else it really does help a lot I think it helps deviate from the fear that’s making me feel panicked u are amazing g crystal

A few years back I was talking with one of my work collegues about what a lottery win would do for me or her. One of the first things she mentioned was the dream of going to Hawaii on holiday ( as likely as not it is a dream shared by many of my fellows ). My immediate response was, " Good God - how awful !"
We both burst out laughing, but I meant it. The reason I laughed was that I realized the absurdity of it : An Englishman - such as I - thinking a holiday `in paradise` would be such a terrible thing.
This is true for one reason only : That I have become scared stiff of flying. The last place in the world I`d want to be is on a paradise island somewhere in the Pacific Ocean.
You may not see this message but as an adopted child I want you to know how much I love your videos you are so encouraging and taking Rylan 1 on 1 that is amazing please keep doing you guys you're awesome and I love watching your family grow and expand and all of the kids grow they're so beautiful you guys are amazing❤️❤️❤️💯💯💯

He seems like such a sweet kid 😊 I would be nervous too! I'm 30 years old and have never been on an airplane before. The most I've done is take a helicopter tour over the beach a few years ago lol also I can't ever find keychains or anything with my name spelled right either. My name is Chelsey but most people spell it with an A at the end lol
now see..... helicopters scare me to death, planes are better in my opinion lol.. I for sure would scream in a helicopter

Here in UK before covid hit you could go on experience day were you show you round airplane in and outs of it how it works show everything that it does even how they warm food up and they show you were to sit how to do your seat belt so that your not scared to go on your first airplane trip and at end they take you up in airplane fly round airport so get feel how it a real experience in airplane then you land give certificate at end it was £35.00 British pounds in dollars it's $ 43.39 cent

Loved the one on one parent time with him. Crystal told him everything to expect. I cheered when he said he would rather go an hour on a plane than drive in 5 hours.
