Excellent job. If owners would take the time to train their pets with even a quarter of these commands they would be much better pets and a lot less problems.
True story. They get upset when their dog doesn’t listen to them and it’s the owners fault b/c they never put an effort to train them consistently every day. My boxer is almost 2 and I still have her “work” every day. It’s there mental stimulation and they will always look to you for leadership!
Good job, my service dog had a problem with escalators in the mall. Took two friends and he mastered it.
Thankfully, I didn't have to deal with escalators because I use a wheelchair. I have cerebral palsy, epilepsy, an old TBI and I had a small part of my brain removed to control my seizures, (it didn't work). I trained my service dog and he was by my side for 9 years. He even tried to alert me about a seizure, except I didn't know what he was doing. He started barking at me, (he never barked, I taught him not to when we moved to an apartment). I lost him to cancer when he was 9. I had Pepper since he was 4 months old, I got him from the Humane Society in Minnesota. I will never forget him, he was the best.
Escalators are VERY dangerous for them. Their paws and nails can get stuck and so can their hair. I highly recommend taking the stairs or an elevator to save your dog from having a medical emergency.
Wow! Nice job, guys! Such a good example to go by
ok but his little gallop is too cute
This one was so wholesome
I was annoyed the other person didn't recall their little dog.
I'm glad the other person's dog at least backed up when she didn't acknowledge any energy to it or it's owner.
Great video! Amazing
Very good teaining video thx
Great job!
My question is, can you train service dogs to this level and expect them to perform the same with their new users?
What's the decay level on their training once they've left the trainer's care?
Just curious.
The handler and helper trainers and dog share a specific understanding so it's best and not legal to separate the two, handler and service dog.
@@katrinawebbheim3772 Ah okay. So it's not usually a trainer who trains the dog and then hands the dog over to it's handler. Makes sense.
@@inkwhiskers9948 yep, the handler must have a relationship and training obedience with the SD. Adding other people who know what they are doing is nice but no, they aren't typically trained and bought by the disabled without the working relationship being earned. Sorry if this is wordy.
@@katrinawebbheim3772 no no, thanks for clarifying.
I had been wondering for some time about it.
@@inkwhiskers9948 Guide dog schools train the owner with their new dog for 6 weeks to teach them how to keep up the dogs training and see what needs worked on before going home with them
I see dog were on the back seat of the car, I traine my dog to sit on the floor in the passenger seat. Is it allowed or not?
This is so helpful thank you
Can you do a public access test with a friend or do you have to have a organization do it ??
Can you just print out the test and have someone fill it out??
It’s not a physical test! It’s just whether your dog is able to go outside and be controlled! You can do it all alone!
Nice job
Is this everything that any kind of their assistance dogs will be able to do?
Yes. The disability tasks depend on the disability each dog is specifically trained to perform. But these are standard protocols for all service dogs
funny, America , we walk dog left side, drivers side i guess.
Dogs can be trained to walk on either side. Probably depends on what is going to the best for the handler
