even though I'm convinced he had at least three years left in him at the least achieving as much as he had, when Barry Bonds left there was something missing from his list of accomplishments, Buster did it three times and caught every pitch of it. despite meaning everything and the world to the bay, the only thing he'd do more of than play with the Giants Family, is be with the Posey family, and he'll earn every moment of that, you went out in fire, commanding the greatest team of Giants ever fielded, though I admit being saddened by your departure from this game, something tells me that the time you spent being a part of it isn't something you'd ever take back you can leave the rest to Bart and leave your number in the locker, so that no one can wear it again

Buster is the embodiment of everything to love about San Francisco. He was called up when I was 11, I’m 23 now and got to grow up watching Posey getting better and better every year. Hats off to you Buster, you are a true role model to so many and your name will forever be cemented into San Francisco🧡
Posey yes. Munson no. I watched them from their rookie years. Posey help LEAD a team to 3 titles. Munson did not no matter if he was the captain Reggie led the way. Even the NY writers knew it. That's why Steinbrenner brought him in. Munson couldn't. Munson good player. Bench andFisk better at that time. One thing Posey and Munson have in common. A lot of people don't like them, but respect them. These are the top catcherd Bench, Fisk, Rodriguez ,Campanella and Josh Gibson. A lot of writers did not like Munson. It's tragic he died in a plane crash. He is not a HOF though. He is not a close miss. Just a miss. In my opinion too. A lot of players getting on the last 20 years should not be there. Even basketball HOF screwed up Grant Hill HOF what's a joke!¡!
What's amazing is that the Giants wouldn't have minded moving him to first. He retired to be with family, his newly adopted twins, gave it his all, Giants fell short this year, but Posey was always a class act and caught some of the best post season games in those 3 out of 5 historic years.
sad if people say he get into HOF only because he is a catcher by only looking at his offensive stats. you are not a true baseball fan if you don't see the true value of a catcher managing the pitchers.
Hurts to see Posey go without a proper farewell tour and after the great season he had. If there was anyone who retired a season or two early, I think it's Posey. Forever Giant tho
I'm glad for Buster and his family. It sound like Buster enduring much pain through the years to give us fan so much to celebrate. Thank you Buster for given your all always, and being such a wonderful example to us all. We will miss you.
I'm an A's fan, but I've always admired Posey because of his way of playing and dedication. Great player and leader. I'm sure all baseball fans will miss seeing him play.
What a total class act. No bulls*it 'Going away tour' just a guy who did an honest day's work for twelve years. He accepts a promotion to full time father and husband. God bless people who have values.

Third greatest catcher of All-Time. Only catchers with more rings are Posada with 5 and Bera with 10. Willie Mays who is considered the Greatest was in 3 world series and has 1 ring. Buster is 3 for 3. Baseball has been around in this format 120 years. Giants hadn't won in over 40 years - and when he got there his first year - they won. He is one of the 20 greatest players to ever play. in 2010 after they won he said 'why can't we do this every year?' - I'm so grateful he is going to stay on and help the organization. You are The Best Buster!
As a dodger fan I'm happy to see the giants get weaker without him but sad to see him go he was a very good catcher but to retire at a very young age why???
first ballot no doubt. If he played on the east coast people would have to admit hes better than molina which he is. I know molina has caught more games. But posey is just as good of a defender as molina and he destroys him on offensive numbers and post season stats
Thinking about him last night, how maybe he an Yadi could share duties as Redbirds could use a nice Vet to step in occasionally to share duties. Maybe ? Squeeze a bit more out of him, your only Pro so long and if you got Tank left, play. Coach Jr.
HOF barely, as he was a catcher. Any other position no. He is resume is good enough, barely to make it in with the catcher banner over his head. I put him the in the class big good, but a HOF because of his resume. So there you have it. Now you can call all your baseball friends and discuss my decision.
