Seems about right. I bought one thing from them years ago. It was broken. When I tried to get a refund I was told I just a hater and they got my money so needless to say I never gave them any business again.
In a week with both NeoCade and MyArcade news, one is looking like a true enthusiast company at a budget conscience/value pricing level, and the other is looking like a me-too producer of cheaper questionable design choices and quality. I was on the fence about the portable one from the last review, but after this? yeah maybe I can just skip all of that and stick with what I got (a gently used model 2 I picked up off ebay a few months ago).
It's a shame. I always like to see a company support licensed games, but they aimed a little too low when it came to hardware. I hope the next wave of products is improved. There's definitely a market for affordable clone hardware, but it needs to be more durable than this.

That’s too bad. I was really looking forward to seeing how it looked with the HDMI output. Also, I might be in the minority, but when I first saw the name of it the company, I thought it was Neo Geo related.
@ I just found their official RUclips page, even thou it’s called NEOCADE, under it, it says @neogeocade. Makes me wonder if they had to change direction with their original business plan. 🤔
@PDubsArcadeLoft I invested 7000 in a huge collection. When I went to sell it thinking it was a good investment. Resale value I got was a 3rd of what I paid for it. So trust me you are going the right path.
You did try without the cart inserted? I hope that in 2025 youtubers will stops doing any emulation content. There are 100 million emulation systems and they all suck. It is really not interesting to see which one sucks more than the other one
I love retro gaming. I love seeing emulation reviews. I would be most excited to see the 9/10 or 10/10 reviews posted (are there any? ) as a separate post. Best of the best emulator home consoles would be awesome.

I mostly play retro games via emulation these days, collecting original hardware is such a pain and people overpriced stuff etc
