Brilliant series mate i enjoyed this. brought back some memories, haven't played PES2011 for years, quickly had a few matches and i got to say the passing is so good, i love pes12 and 13 but i got to say 11 might just be my fav on the old gen. the nets i think are the best in the whole series the way they move when the ball hits the net it looks so good.
I think it's the first time someone explained PES 2014 the way i see it. It was one of my favorite ones exactly because of the simulation that it focused on. It was at a time where i was learning to play irl and i remember spending hours just playing on training and/or just exhibition matches and trying to memorize the players movements and positioning. I really feel it's the most underrated of all i hope that there are some people that may support it to this day. Fav ones: 16, 14, 15.
I loved PES 2011, 12, 13 so much. It was the peak. PES 2014 got hated so hard that most of the people started to ignore PES like it doesn't even exist.
Two corrections: PES 2014 was the final game on the PS2 and PSP and not PES 2011 and in PES 2011 they introduced the UEFA Super Cup. My favorite is PES 2012. Great video as always, Marlon! See you at the next episode!
My friend and I always use to play our own music when we played PES together, but music in PES2008 always made us laugh so it was the only game we ever left the music on. WE'RE GONNA PLAY FOOTBALL, SOCCER!
Still love to watch your historical videos, you do great Marlon! Love from Germany Edit: Extendet on Become a Legend The first editions of BAL where next to the pitch a bit plain honestly. However, the 2010 version felt more rewarding in the experience, because it wasnt unlike today from 2014 on, to get naturally picked by the coach after an mediocre or bad performance...espacially in 2010 at hard difficulties the ai coach has no hesitation to sent the player bench warming for a time. Good and Bad at the same time was the 1 year contract rule, which can sometime become a hard challenge to stay in a club. Thankfully it disappeart in 2011 with the introduction of realistic contracts from there on. At PES 2012 the mode was at its prime. Sadly, the scouting game got removed and now we get dropped in a Random team, from an random league... But as sacrificial trade, we got more cutscenes like an pre-game briefing in the team dressingroom, investing of our earned money in a better agent for negotiating with better clubs and some more. What made the early BAL special in comparison today, was to see that you arent the only who fought to be noticed by the coach, with rising and falling trustbar from the coach, TO EVERYONE on position you are fighting for. This led to situation to decide if you stay in this unconfortable position and wait for a chance to prove the coach wrong or call the agent. And yes, back then it took some time to get taken seriously by the CPU mates from strech. With arrival of the really great gameplay in the Fox Engine era, we saw the most promissing and challenging gamemode turn into a kinda lazy power fantasy...until today... Extra: Sound for many people ridiculous, but stats for Boots are actually more realistic as people think. Still screw master league bootshop!
What an amazing job you have done with this series. I am still working my way through them and there are loads of things I don't agree on. I think you were way too easy on PES 2008, and a bit too hard on PES 2009. But these are a personal essay as well as a history of the series. Opinion and taste are the nature of our fandom of this timeless series. With so much insane focus on the current year there's a sense out there that PES is over. But PES will never be over.
Amazing content, Marlon! I've been watching for days now! Here in Brazil we have a ton of modified PES games with the Campeonato Brasileiro (Brasileirão) on it. There is a special series of these modified games that are known as "Bomba Patch", it is so acclaimed here, that it became a cultural thing with the PES gamers, there are memes and stuff, you should check it, it is hilarious. Thkns once again!
@@MarlonAnthony I'm literally binging all in a row now. Just finished pts 1 and 2. I saw bits and pieces before but now taking in the entire thing- really brilliant stuff and bringing back so many memories. It's even MORE relevant now that PES is over.

@@TerryFGaming Yeah it really does get overlooked for it's vision and all people seem to remember was the disastrous release. If they made that first impression a year later on 2015 I think it could've been a different story

Since you talked about the soundtrack of some of the games, here are some interesting things. Pes 2008 had some funny songs and the only one that was really worth it is "Go to the Goal" I still listen to it sometimes. For PES2009 Konami decided to sign a lot of unknown bands which disbanded after that year (Fck Konami because they actually never promoted them, maybe it has to do with how the music industry operated in Japan). It really had great songs (Such as Born to Win , High Stakes, Hearts and Nails, Where the Sun meets the sea, etc.) and got released in an album. (Managed to grab the album and still listen to it this day.) For PES2010 and 11 Konami decided to get the license of some popular bands such as The All American Rejects , Kaiser Chiefs, Hoobstank, Stereophonics, Coldrain, Destine, and it had some good memorable songs such as (In your Arms, Dirty Little Secret, Ruby, Die Tommorow etc.) For the other PES games They reduced the number of songs significantly and decided to move from (Pop Punk, Pop Rock,Rock, Punk Rock) to Pop, Techno, Dance music genres.
19:30 I think PES 2010 can have the contention of being the best PES game of all time. The graphics were so revolutionary for that time. The gameplay was realistic, the animation didn't feel cartoony. Its such a shame that the PES 2014 debacle totally derailed the series.
That makes 0 sense! PES 2014, (although being a turd of a game) was the first addition where you could change teams in the master league instead of being stuck with one team so what are you on about?? 🤬
Marlon Anthony nice videos bro. I hope and i want to see someday you play 1 match in pes4 with the Greek Derby Olympiakos - Panathinaikos. Please take the Olympiakos because in season 2004-2005 he has a good and strong team. Actually in forward he has the Rivaldo Giovanni Castillo. Rivaldo is my favorite and the best player ever where we seen before. And he is good in freekicks. And used the system 4-3-3 with 3 them in forward and you 'll be remember me. Thank you. ;)
