What's disgraceful is that the powers that be in West Indian cricket wouldn't allow him to surpass Brian Lara's test run record. I would have Chanderpaul batting for my life. Fantastic talent.
I used to feel sorry for Chanderpaul. He was often the one left on his own to try and save or win the match with the tail end batsmen. A truly great player.
Chanderpaul has over 10k runs in test cricket, 8k runs on ODIs, Steve Smith and Chanderpaul with unorthodox style, most odd technique shows one can flourish even without proper technique, will is bigger than skill
His technique is pretty basic but was master of the core of any solid defensive or offensive technique. The determination to not get out. This guy roots himself on the crease and if the entire WI could master at least 2 players with half of hoopers talent, they would have been scary. I feel bad for him. Despite his responsible batting, people always talks about how great lara was when he never was took responsibility despite his stardom and talent and runs.
@@hereticsign what responsibility ? .. chanderpaul remained not out .. he shouldn't have given strike to tailenders in first place .. especially against harmison .. that's where lara shines
Haris joker yeah that is where Lara shines because after making his avg look good, he just leaves the crease and I mean it. He doesn’t get out , he leaves the crease. His selfish batting fucked WI cricket hard.
I personally think he was better than Dravid though. Shiv's defense was old school, not pretty looking but the determination to not give his wicket was strong and scary.
