Great work so far. I have been able to do several Arleigh Burkes but have never felt comfortable/ experienced enough to go all out with the detail-up kits. I will be following this series with special interest!
Its about time someone built a arleigh burke class destroyer awesome work i am currently building one myself i look forward to the next video with great interest 😀
This is exceptional, I plan to build Bainbridge in this scale, the ship that had helped rescue Captain Richard Phillips from the Somali pirates, back in 2009, and have a few good references in preparation for building my version. Take care, and all the best.
How do you apply the large flat photoetch? Spot glue or coat whole surface? If coating whole surface how do you keep glue from drying on surface before applying?
Wonderful to see you at work, and I was thinking of adding this kit to my collection to build in the future, however watching you build it, I really don't know if I have the ability to make it anywhere as near as good as this.
Super Start!!! I was assigned to FFG's when I was in the USN..... so I have some 'OLD' FFG kits and planning on using the 'Pontos' PE on those kits. Although my FFG's are Not the 'Academy' kit, I'll try to do my best in manipulating the 'Pontos' PE onto that resin kit!! Wish me luck on that.....by the way.......... The "oil-can" method of metal skin on funnels looked Quite Interesting!!!! I must look at that part again on your video!!! ( but if you noticed there is much of that on the Rest of the skin of the ship!! [how would you do THAT part is a mystery!!!])
Hey there! Love your videos ! Can you please tell me what glue you use for the photo etch? Also I noticed you made moulding lines on the funnels.. did you do it by bending them? Im kinda new in the hobby
@@tyvernoverlord5363 it's like buying a brand new (expensive ) car and covering it in tinfoil , I bet the brass costs almost as much as the ship-perhaps more .
@@fredtedstedmanPE parts are ~$30, kit is around $50, I think the car comparison makes no sense in this context. To create a museum quality kit you need PE parts. This is beautiful work of art
Amazing works!!
The reproduction of distortion caused by welding on the structure is particularly impressive.
Just WOW ! Absolutely brilliant build...true craftsmanship. Thank you for making this available.
Oil-canning technique with photo etch is new to me. It looks perfect, so I'll try it out.
OUTSTANDING I'll be following this one with serious interest as this one is on my too do list.

I can barley but some seat belts on a 1:48 aircraft. How you do that; I’m amazed

In fact, it is difficult to make. It will be enough to make the kit well.
Fantastic work! also love that you use WoWS music : D
do you know the song
So great done! All the best for You! ;)

I just finished building an Arleigh Burke 1/350 scale. Now I need to find the time to edit and post my build on RUclips.
Question?! What kind of glue for metal on plastic? Please name of the glue, and Response ASAP. Thanks!!

I'm worried, too. no choice but to cover that part with painting skills.
What paint coatings are you using?
Thanks so much to do this model☺️☺️☺️
It would have been nice to have the corrected bow included with the 1/2-0 Bismarck kit from Pontos, correcting it was a bear.
상가대 너트는 따로 사신건가요? HS 모델 상가대는 기본적으로 너트가 작은거 같아서요

With those fingers you should have been a surgeon the way you handle PE I cannot do it .
with so many brass extras, it would be better for the manufacturer to make the entire model out of brass in the first place..

I can't see the point in buying a plastic kit -and then putting this much photo etch on it .
detail that the plastic can’t give you
