I want to get excited but the truth is - I can't help but feel a little uncomfortable watching this MCRX saga drag itself out ... I just feel as if the guys themselves aren't onboard with the whole monetising of this MCRX thing. Like, it wasn't their idea; it was their label's. It just feels overly commercial and a bit fake. Don't get me wrong, I'm a sucker for merch, but when it comes down to it, the guys are all I care about. They're who we should all be here for. It's just the fact that none of them have spoken about this personally that is leaving me unenthused. I appreciated the unreleased music, obviously I did. That was a blessing. But I can't help but feel like MCRX is more of the record label's heartless ploy for money rather than a genuine celebration of the art. Rather than something the guys themselves envisioned out of authentic creative desire and love for the music. Idk.
