    I have been watching these in order and this is the first one (I think) where nobody said "Lone Ranger" as the final dialogue.

    This episode was first aired in 1953. The Midnight Rider wore a similar outfit to that of Zorro, but that episode preceded Disney's Zorro TV Series (1957-1959) by about 4 years.

      Wish this Midnight Rider was a beautiful woman in cowboy drag; so sassy & foxy when they do . Best example : Jane Russell as " Mike " , leader of the torch Gang from " Son of Paleface " movie 1952. Jane has a much tighter version of William Boyd's Hopalong Cassidy cowboy outfit; in fact it couldn't be any tighter ! Jane is stunning in " drag " !

    I agree Hart's no Clayton Moore, but I think he does well enough in the role

      I think that John Hart is the best Lone Ranger and apart from that, I like how he spins his gun when holstering it.

    I remember when those Lone Ranger episodes were originally shown, there was a portion of the opening that has been cut from them for syndication:
    “With his faithful Indian companion Tonto, the daring and resourceful masked rider of the plains led the fight for law and order in the early West. Return with us now to those thrilling days of yesteryear. The Lone Ranger rides again!”
    Watching The Lone Ranger transports me back to my childhood in the 1950s, makes me feel young again!

    0:34 - “For several weeks, a mysterious and lone outlaw had operated in the shield’s River Valley, concentrating his attacks on one victim: the large and powerful Esmeralda Mining Company. The outlaw’s dramatic disguise is a black cape, mask and hat had earned him the name: THE MIDNIGHT RIDER.”

    • @bethanycampione3558
      @bethanycampione3558 5 лет назад +3

      True, but he's still a good actor. He was great as Hawkeye, he was just too overshadowed by Clayton Moore's amazing portrayal of the Lone Ranger

    • @bethanycampione3558
      @bethanycampione3558 5 лет назад +5

      @brian bowes I agree with you. Clayton Moore will always be THE Lone Ranger but had Clayton Moore never accepted the role in the first place, someone else would've been THE Lone Ranger and hating John Hart just because he decided to take the job that was offered him is simply unjustifiably

    While John Hart was playing The Lone Ranger, the producers wouldn’t allow Clayton Moore to make personal appearances wearing the mask, but I notice it was still Moore in the episode openings riding Silver. So I guess it was okay for them to use Moore’s image at the beginning of those episodes, but he couldn’t make appearances as The Lone Ranger. What’s fair about that?

    • @summergolden
      @summergolden 2 года назад +1

      It's not about fair , it's about them owning the rights to the image of the Lone Ranger, remember the Lone Ranger is not real but a character owned by a company.

    • @bwsmyhero
      @bwsmyhero 5 месяцев назад +1

      @@summergoldenWell, duh, I realize The Lone Ranger isn’t real. I don’t have to “remember” that. I’m not stupid. And yes, I know that they owned the rights to the character’s image, but they DIDN’T own Clayton Moore’s image, yet there he was as the Lone Ranger at the beginning of ALL the TV episodes, even in the ones that starred John Hart. So tell me, what’s fair about that?

      Apparently, lots of other people thought the same thing. Clayton Moore was fired, he claimed he didn’t know the reason why, but the producers mistakenly believed the Lone Ranger mask was the real star. John Hart did okay, but evidently, people just didn’t accept him as The Lone Ranger. The producers couldn’t get Clayton Moore to come back fast enough, and he was given a considerable pay increase. Obviously the mask alone didn’t make the character.
