      I have a big wrestling background and I've been using my hips/turtle to keep my guard from being passed but I never thought to Granby roll out, thank you for the video

    At 1:30 in the video I still had no idea where this was going.
    Brilliant! I get stuck here all of the time and I can't wait to give this a try. Thanks!

    Marcelo Garcia taught me this move in 2007. Great move lots of other stuff you can do from what is called aggressive turtle. The leg lifted in turtle.

    Very similar to the Peterson in wrestling! The only difference is that in wrestling you would typically reach through and hook the other person's leg with the hand that is not holding their wrist. It's not needed, but it is something many wrestlers do to secure the pin after rolling through!

      It's the Granby here, the Peterson is a different roll.

    Question please. Within that roll and pausing in a position of having his arm, why not attack that arm? If he attempted to roll out with you attacking it and you went with his momentum.. wouldn't he break his own arm?

    nice technique! would you recommend this for gi as well? I would imagine you're more in danger of giving up your back if they get grips after they roll, but you probably have the advantage on top.

    If you freeze at 2:14 -- Will this work if the guy is behind you on his knees? I have trouble Gramby-ing out of this spot because of heavy pressure on my hip.

      Invisible Jiu Jitsu Can you point me to a hug the head style escape? I would love to find a way out when that happens but I'm not sure how to search for it. Thanks in advance.

      Dont let him too close, keep your legs "tangly", "keenan-like".

    Doesn’t look like a guard it looks like maneuver if someone passes your guard

    • @Momsspaghetti777
      @Momsspaghetti777 6 лет назад +2

      Invisible Jiu Jitsu but the thing is it was advertised as an impassable guard, this isn’t a guard it’s a counter to getting your guard passed
