Ain't gonna lie, I grabbed this MPC controller so I didn't have to abuse my Live 2 and since it's dedicated to the software. I must admit, the workflow is pretty smooth. If you go into it knowing its just a controller and NOT a traditional MPC- everything flows! Using the mouse is MINIMAL, and is no more of a pain then being on standalone and STILL having to name your pads, samples, keygroups, sequences, tracks, projects..etc- with a "virtual mouse". I'd recommend it to anyone.
Hey Ishman, i’m so glad you took the time to share your input after using it. I to love my MPC one and this MKII is definitely not going to replace it but it’s allowed me to approach my production in a whole different way now that I’ve been able to use the computer and my hardware together. Thank you so much for taking the time to drop this comment brother.
Well said bro. Plus you can use all your VSTs and effects and bigger screen for seeing and chopping samples. If using a laptop, your literally ‘standalone’ and battery powered. It’s a win win!
Yessir I’ve personally been looking for a portable solution without having to bring my Mpc X and this thing is killer been using it with a Surface Pro And it’s fantastic to use with touch and pen support and No I’m not selling my Mpc X it’s really fantastic when I’m having fun and working with other people I can give them the controller and guide them while I’m using the software I’m going to try and use it with the X as well if possible
I agree. I mostly got it because I primarily work in the MPC software and didn't like switching between controller and standalone mode so much on my Live. The workflow transition has been just fine, even with the slight variation in the layout compared to the Live and mouse use is minimal which I don't mind. I feel like if you know your way around an MPC and the MPC software, you'll be just fine getting this.
Bro, I am learning the MPC Pro. It's so much fun. Thank you for sharing this. I built a homemade recording studio in my basement, and right now, I am self teaching myself. I learned a few new things from you tonight. I appreciate you, bro.
I actually like a lot of the beats you make in these videos. Usually guys doing tutorials will relay a lot of useful info, but I don't like the stuff they're making in the video, but this sounds like the kind of stuff I listen to.
No ty for the video. Was on the brink of giving up now I may just upgrade to a higher version of the mpc. This showed so much more for me than the official AKAI masterclass. This showed me exactly what I wanted to do
Fam I know lots of mpc headz will think I’m dumb for selling my mpc touch to get the studio two but man let me tell you I feel much more comfortable using this one than the touch I put more use on all the buttons on this than the touch …one of the main reasons why I prefer studio two over mpc touch , live and the rest of the stand alone is the forward and rewind button I used to use those buttons heavy on the MPC studio one the black version and silver and I missed that much!… I’m not a finger drummer so that became handy for me and I’m at work flow with the Touch Bar and the button two to go back-and-forth unstoppable baby !!! i’m creating bangers in like 10 minutes now with the cheapest mpc lol 😂
That’s awesome brotha and I love how your said it “creating bangers in 10 mints” bro that’s what it’s all about, it’s about the music we create and how much fun we have while doing it and at the end of the day it don’t even matter what machine we use. I love this mpc studio mkii despite all the negativity around it, I simply love the music I’ve made with it and that’s all I care about. Let’s get it 🦾
As an Ableton veteran user I was curious aobut standalone machines. I bought the Akai Force, but in the end I was missing the power of my computer, and the workflow was very clunky compared to Ableton. But... also I got hooked by MPC style and these good sounds and expansions. Then I gave MPC Software a chance. It turned out that its simplicity is what I was looking for in terms of live performing. I like a lot the way you can let your creativity out with this thing. Great vid and a dope beat!
I’m definitely getting me one before this month over with or next month once I get some things handled. I watch vids like this a lot too keep me motivated & inspired.
I've been watching YT videos of people talking about MPC studio and most of them don't say it's bad, but it isn't getting that mad props from them too. But I'm guessing it's cause a lot of them are used to working with MPCs Live etc...I on the other hand, have never ever used an MPC in my life and watching your workflow, you've made me so confident that I've decided to order it.
Thank you for dropping this input, I also really respect the way you’ve made your decision I know here on RUclips everybody has their own opinion whether it’s positive or negative but at the end of the day it’s just an opinion what’s important is for us to look at the workflow of the device and decide ourselves if it will work in our workflow. If you saw some of my videos and decided to pick one up based off of the workflow I’m sure you’re going to really fall in love with it. I highly appreciate you taking the time to watch a video or two of mine. 🙏🏽
@@malobeats Thanks. Yes, I'm actually binging your videos right now hahah. And true, I enjoyed your workflow, plus I love the strip so I can't wait to take it for a ride.
Yo! 8:28 So u can just play the video and it record the external track. I mean it in the sense that usually u have to download turn to mp3 rip. Etc etc.. it just goes straight in the software when u press play?
Just grabbed the same one the other day, it definitely speeds up the work flow for me. I need to figure out how to change the brightness of the pads though, they're kind of blinding at night lol
Could anyone give advice about doing a similar audio routing to record from youtube, without an Apollo interface? It is a very confusing topic, there seem to be software solutions but I'm afraid they induce latency. Should any hardware interface that has loopback functionality work the same way as in this video?
If you are using a lower resolution on your computer the software screen of the mpc software is better to see watchin the video on ipads or similar. Besides this very good video showing the workflow.❤
Dope tutorial and dope ass beat. You def dropped some gems on this one. Also, it is always great to see someone's workflow. You have a knack explain this stuff and keeping it simple. Man, so you don't warp your samples. Wow!! Right now I am still learning the art of chopping and sampling. What's driving me crazy is the sample BPM in trying to get it to work with my beat BPM. But your method seems interesting to avoid that warping that many others do. I like to keep the audio integrity. Gonna keep trying and see how ur method works, it introduced me to a different way of thinking. Looking forward to seeing more of these kinds of videos with the MPC studio. Im still working my way into understanding the software. Thanks so much for the videos man. Peace homie.
Hey Sal, yea everyone will have there way of chopping and adjusting the bpm but in most cases I just slice my samples in 1/4 notes and I’m able to get creative and the tempo changes are not as noticeable . This is an awesome topic I will do a video getting a bit more in detail with matching tempos latter on. Thank you for this input brother 🙏🏽
This is the video I'm looking for. I just bought the mk2. and have 45 days to return it. I am mixed between the mpc one or the mk2. if you was a rookie lets just say new to it all. What kind of mouse is that and how well do u like it compared to a normal mouse
This is the mouse that I’m using in the video amzn.to/3CmCWBW it’s not the sexiest mouse out there but my goodness does it save me so much time and I’ve had it for almost 10 years. Instead of having to hover my arm left and right to get to a certain destination on my screen I’m able to scroll the ball and get there within milliseconds instead of seconds I know it sounds like a small thing but it does make a big difference in my workflow.
