Andy Mac is an excellent teacher, performer and producer and knows these AKAI systems inside out. Not only that, he knows the music industry like no other. His beat creations are off the charts and selection of sounds and effects, 2nd to none. AKAI did well in choosing him to demonstrate all of the AKAI MPC line and software products for beat creation. Andy Mac should create a whole online curriculum to teach all of the different aspects of music he has accumulated over the years and then I guess charge a reasonable fee. It would be an awesome learning experience for us all I am sure and well worth it.
It’s crazy how people hate on this thing but let’s be real for them to give you all these features and capability at this price point is extremely impressive. I’m a Maschine MK3 user but wanted to try the MPC software I felt this was the best option for me without jumping out the window on a larger piece of hardware but I get how for longtime MPC users feel this is pointless
@@kunaal2042 As soon as I heard that synth and Andy tuning the vocals to that track I immediately went to Akai's website and placed my order with rush delivery, cant wait!
Yes if it had a display instead of that nonsense they put on it. The screen on the Studio is just like the small pads on the One, something that was unnecessary'. The concept of miniaturization is just idiotic when you start to make it the standard instead of a niche.
@@Ashad2012 Why does a controller even need a screen when you're going to be looking at your computer screen anyways? It's obviously not a standalone product. That's like complaining that an electric keyboard has to be plugged into the wall. If you want a real piano go buy a real piano
Andy Mack was SICK on this very open and creative machine that allows you to keep moving in the box with so many palette choices to finish your beats, songs, and stem into your DAW for further mixing, processing, and mastering. The controller and integrated workflow with the software sold me on purchasing my unit. Thank you Andy and Akai. This is the Product of the year.
As a newborn to this stuff, it seems , stuff that's been swimming around in my head for the past 25 years or more, but could never realise as I can't play normal instruments. My take is; when you play with this and master the machine , at a minimal cost, I will be able to realise my dream and externalise what is in my head, your imagination becomes the limit. I am stoked, can't wait to get my one, and start that learning curve .. Summery, it looks like a music version of Photoshop, If you know Photoshop, you know what I Mean!
Great stuff, guys. The touchstrip looks to be the same as what used on the Denon DJ X1800/1850 mixers. I hope these effects get added to the next update for the Denon mixers. I'm excited to get one of these and integrate it into my setup.
Man, I'm sold! I've been watching videos since last night about this MPC Studio and I'ma go get it tomorrow! Trading in my novation launchpad x for this for sure
andy m, each and every time hats off respect, said it before, you are the consummate pro, you explain stuff and make it easy to understand, also reply to queries, which a lot of other product reps do not , so looks like my old silver mpc studio will have to be retired and put into storage , this is great way of grabbing the full software with this new studio, great work gents, keep up the good work, ps love those floor standing yamaha speakers.... :)
oe of the best things i hve bought for music production. just as good as the mpc 0ne is. and if u have a mac witha fast prosseor and lots. of storage its actually better than a mpc one.
Quick question: Do you have to use the screen on the Studio, or can you just ignore it all together and just use the screen on your computer? Thank you.
@David Scott You can easily bypass the screen on the MPC. I use it for things like BPM and pitch work, especially when fine tuning, but one can do all of that on the desktop. Great to use as a visual cue as well when quickly switching your track for recording purposes, you can switch without lifting your head from the pad set.
I was looking into getting one, & you guys JUST solidified it, only thing that DOES suck is the tightly small display screen, I am blind AF, lol, wish AKAI would've put more thought into the display, I get it was probably a money saver but SH*T! Lol...Other than that, you have me sold, may even sell/trade my AKAI MPK49, haven't figured THAT part out yet. Thanks for the info fellas!
would you say the numa logic x 88 gt is a good buy? im nervous, i pre ordered it so hope i’ll like it love all you do jack im still using a yamaha p125 and a korg sp88, so hopefully the numa will be nice!
I know this video was made 2 years ago but I still want to ask this question if anyone is willing to answer. Andy shows us what sounds he can generate using the "Hype" synthesizer but what expansion pack/samples is Andy using for his drum kits or are these custom made expansion packs he is using?
Also, what video did Andy Mac make regarding MPC at 13:00 minutes where he says it was one of his best videos? Of course I would like to see it. Thank you Andy Mac! BTW, that bass sound at 20:55 is sick!
Can you mix the drums in the DAW mixer when used as a plug in? I have looked in the manual and can't find the answer. I simply want to mix individual drums within my DAW mixer. And send these DAW mixer channels out separate audio interface outputs for analogue mixing. I want to mix the drums live meaning not having to print/commit to audio thus ending the composition process for drums.
A question, are the tracks used in the sequence used (timeline from 26:53 on this video) suitable for use on the MPC keys 61. Are included within the MPC keys 61 package?, or are these easily obtainable through other means (an MPC download site etc?)
I have an old very capable MacBook Pro and an older RME interface that I’m gonna hook this thing up to and keep it MPC only. I believe this doesn’t run on M1 Macs yet.

Andy most likely will not see your question here on this channel. Unfortunately RUclips disabled cross channel tagging a while back. I can say that this MIDI controller was designed specifically for the MPC desktop software. The price includes the software. If you are wanting to use it with an iPad, there are other MIDI controllers in the price range that would do a better job. If you still want to ask Andy questions you can post to the AkaiPro channel. They posted a ton of videos on this yesterday.

What about the biggest feature MPCs became famous for: Sampling? How fast can we chop and edit samples with the controller? I only see sample start and end buttons on the MPC Studio MK2 controller. With the tiny screen we have to rely completely on our computer screen. To me personally this controller is as useless as the Maschine Mikro MK3...
Sampling and editing are very simple. Almost to the point where it is considered trivial. If you are slow transitioning to new things you may want to stay with the older ones that you feel comfortable with. In the end it's all about your workflow. New tools are not always for everybody.
