Just discovering The Revivalists, but have been a King fan for a while now. I love finding stuff like this, thanks for posting! I wish I had a tiny percentage of that talent. Multiple chills during Marcus' jam, just unbelievable.
Marcus King probably has more skill on the guitar than everyone in the Revivalists combined. But what he has lacked, due to youth, is the deep and innate soul, wisdom, and universality that makes music so touching and personal. And that is something that the Revivalists have in spades. So it is great to see Marcus up there listening and learning, figuring out what to say and how to say it within the framework of a band whose strength is in the soul of Shaw's vocals and lyrics instead of a shredding guitar. When he gets there, and he will, King will likely not just be the best guitar player of his generation, but the best bluesman of his generation. He is studying under some true greats, and we can watch his progression. What a great piece of music, and a great performance of it.
@feldman marty Agree with you. Saying that Marcus King does not have feeling/soul (due to his youth), just because he does not make those stupid fake faces, can come only from someone who does not have a clue about music (but thinking that he does).
Marcus is still average! his solo's are weak, not in the spirit of the song... just some technical ability, but nowhere near the real top guitar players. Obviously you guys (the one who think Marcus is all that), have no clue what a real player sounds like.
This band is a 'must see in concert' for me before I die
OH MY🎉. What a voice, and what a guitar player❤
My Wife and I and friends seen these guys in Pittsburgh..
Want to go see them another 1000x!!!
Always a good show
That just blew my shit away.....fucking right on!
