My wife and I have been looking into building a non-electric washing machine, and this looks like a very doable small-scale model. Thank for very much for making this clear step-by-step tutorial that can help people like us! God be with you out there everybody! ✝️ :)
I live off grid I am going to make this in a barrel instead of a box and attach a treadle for washing, abd do the same for a chicken plucker. Thank you this is truly one of the best washing machines i have seen.
I'd suggest the same snap ties on in inner container as on the outer box for hinges since plastic won't rust from the water. Ball bearings by the axis for less friction so less energy needed to spin. Also trash buckets instead of mop buckets since they are sold already perforated. Finally if you add a pedal to the connector it can stay drill-friendly and be hand/foot operated to use no electricity.
@@MeggsNichole 👊🤭 I wish my wife would wash my clothes, but unfortunately it's only going to take Devine inspiration from the Lord 🙏 above to get her going, laundry has always been my thing to do 🤯 I wish I had spaghetti right now 🍝
Instead of using the drill machine we can use a normal electric motor which will consume less power as compared to drill machine...Or either we can use a cycle to operate it by giving the torque of the wheel to washing machine directly without consuming of electricity..!
This is very good idea.....now while husband away I think I go and find his drill .... Would adding "Fins" inside the drum give extra agitation ? And maybe then you would need less cycle wash to save a bit of power? Hope to see your take on a spinner next.
I actually liked it, lol. What's funny is that I know it's irritating generic youtube music, but I still like it because'a dem driving baselines and catchy rythyms, lol.
I hope all can appreciate the utter genius behind this hilarious invention that accomplishes little but a fair amount of extra work. This washer goes way beyond any thought of getting laundry clean. It was invented to reassure us all that nothing has to stop us from living the dream. No matter one’s standing, electricity or ingenuity can take a part of the process off your hands. Finally, it’s the optimistic childlike mentality that keeps us all laughin!
I have been trying to find a way to wash polythene at home..On a large scale because I cant afford industrial machines.. This machine of yours may be an inspiration to new beginnings
innovative. congrats. best for poor. the grinder must have a closing unit to avoid water spill. if a fan motor is fitted it would be most best. I couldn't understand how the bucket sides were fitted with pvc pipes firmly. please improve the beautiful washer. the dirty water outlet pipe is small. it may be big size with wide mouth dia so that water will come down quickly. it is so beautiful. the crate box chosen is sturdy and more beauty. if Milton brand buckets are chosen, it would be more strong. God bless you.❤🥰👌👍👍🤝🤝🙏🏻🙏🏻
You would need to attach the square wood blocks to the ends of the bucket BEFORE gluing them together by running the fastener from the inside of the bucket and not from the outside... Drywall screws inserted through the wood and THEN the bucket have the sharp end exposed INSIDE and they are catching/tearing up your clothes on every rotation... Eight little knives!
Looks great, but it also looks like your agitation is too fast. The drum needs to be turning slowly enough so that the clothes "plop" back into the water just as they reach the apex of the spin. Otherwise, you're just swishing fabric through sudsy water and not really agitating the dirt out of it.
I saw ppl putting videos up years ago on youtube making their own wash barrels....they just took a metal type barrel made simple legs for it and cut a door in it and added the type thing near the bottom(inside) like they use today connected to a outer handle . when you turned the handle it swished the clothes back and forth like a agitator to clean the clothes....and a bottom plug to drain it. It was simply made.....Just look at the ones manufactured today and copy them in a simpler fashion! .....Wish I could find one of those older videos!! There may be one still around!
You can get the same end result with a separate spin dryer. Add clothes, water, soap. Run for a bit. Drain. Add clean water, run for a bit, drain. Add more clean water, run for a bit, drain. Transfer clothes to a spin dryer, run for a bit. Next up is building a dryer, or just hang on a rope in the sunlight for a bit.
I have seen so many videos of how to make a homemade washing machine and this is undoubtedly the one that I liked the most since it is simple to make and I have all the materials to do it, since I am foreign, I suppose that it would work better if you added some bars of plastic on the walls as a carver, well it is my suggestion and I will apply it.
The holes are what get the clothes clean because they force the water to go through in all directions. This loosens the dirt and knocks it off the fabric. Better to save water by reusing the wash water as many times as you can before dumping it out. I suspect you can spin the water out of the clothes too by spinning it when there’s no water in the container. Do each load and set the clean clothes aside. Drain the water, put the clothes back inside and spin them to remove the dirty water. Then rinse and fill the container with clean water, rinse the clothes, drain the water and spin again. Voilà, ready for the clothesline!
You should use leather gloves. When you are cutting the door with your blade moving towards your unprotected hand can cause a serious injury. Great idea though!
Great design, although perhaps you could screw in the wooden blocks that hold the buckets in from the inside if you find it's ripping articles of clothing. VERY cheap way to make a washing machine.

You do know that's being turned by an electric drill right?
@@billmellater Yes, but it wouldn't be too difficult to replace the drill with something mechanical (crank handle, pedal-powered pulley, etc.).
I think that the drill does need electricity though.
@@Urhuuuur Yes, I am aware. However, it wouldn't be too difficult to replace the drill with a hand crank or pedal-driven driver.
Also got an idea, but would love to replace the drill with wind energy I dnt know how but I have too

Best design I've found so far. Very inspiring.
Great tx!
Really good video. You showed all of your steps and even made it small enough to be portable.
I can envision this idea helping a lot of people, I love this!

Where was this video when I was homeless and living in the bush at the age of 16, this is amazing
One of the best homemade washing Machine I have ever seen on RUclips. Thanks for sharing mate
since it's fake. and doesn't work.
I'll save all this trouble, buy a large bingo ball spinner, throw it into your tub and get after it.
@@myopinonz this was the inspo I needed today thank you

I would go that rout and also have it stop and change directions.
Yes this is nice idea
I enjoy low tech diy projects. A joy to witness this.

I was looking these videos up for a friend in India as washing machines are a Luxury over there. This is my favorite so far for electric😁

This is what happens when you need a washer and your Husband is Handy AND CHEAP...
Underrated comment 😂😂
I love a handyman. NOTHING better!!!!
This is to keep him busy and feeling useful.. so he will stay at home busy, not out about looking for things (girls) to fix. Lol
Lol girl I am handy and crafty and a student ;-) not my boyfriend.
what's wrong being a cheap.... this is Indian way ... u ll never get it...
Very cool! But I wonder if it is possible to have chosen a more irritating back track!??
i actually like these little generic youtube backdrop musics =}
Yeah...i agree..
He could reup with without it, and with sound level of the drillers.
I doubt it.

Excelente trabajo genial parece que funciona bien la lavadora te felicito Dios te bendiga saludos desde Uruguay
Genius. Thank you for sharing 🙏🏽
i would add some kind of hand crank
Clever!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
He could of used two plastic laundry baskets and saved time putting all those holes in the plastic pails.
Cathy C was thinking the same.
Or just one laundry basket cutting it in two..
I think the buckets are stronger
Cathy C so true
i"m thinking it wasn't the right size or shape
You should drain while spinning to wring out the clothes...and repeat to rinse...also a low suds detergent would help
You just blow my ever-LOVIN-mind, Bro.!!! GENIUS!!
Nice.
Easy.
Water saving.
Use less electricity.
10/10.
I was to buy it.

Now make a standard conventional front loading washing machine.. Complete with a spin cycle.
Lie Feral Bolt this down onto a strong surface for a spin. It is called a hard-mount washer.
You would need a special door gasket and a heating element, along with a sturdy tub.
think.. this is 1 of those if I had too vids
You can get the same end result with a separate spin dryer. Add clothes, water, soap. Run for a bit. Drain. Add clean water, run for a bit, drain. Add more clean water, run for a bit, drain. Bravo! This is so ingenious! And so nice of you to share.

I would install a manual handle out of that hole where you put the drill. And make it manual and safer.
Love it ! And the music !

well this is flippin awesome!!
