- In this video, I take my all-electric sailboat for a haul out to perform essential maintenance tasks. Join me as I apply Extra-Micron 2 antifoul to protect my boat's hull and ensure smooth sailing ahead.
The maintenance tasks include:
Getting a marine engineering shop to cut a keyway into the shaft for improved performance.
Installing a PSS packingless shaft seal, replacing the traditional stuffing box for better efficiency and reduced maintenance.
Installing a B&G (Bandg) transducer below the waterline to enhance navigation and data collection.
Addressing osmosis in my hull and tackling de-lamination in the fiberglass, ensuring the boat remains in top shape.
Witness the process of maintaining and upgrading my all-electric sailboat in this informative video.

Your energy, enthusiasm and humor are quite engaging. Good luck with the boat and RUclips channel.
Cheers for the kind words. Thats really nice to hear 👍😀
The little blocks in the keel are cutouts where the nuts are for the keel bolts.
ahhh of course! cheers 🍻
Enjoyed your maintenance video😀
Thanks 👍
The square part could have been a grounding plate? Either that or something to do with how they installed the lead balast.
Falkor is looking SO GOOD
Haha you wanna buy him for your next adventure 😬
Brother...if I had sailoring in me, it wpuld be a no brainer. Your work is fuc*ing on point.
Hey mate, loving the videos! Just a guess, those squares are there to access the nut on the bottom of the keel bolts.
hey mate! i thought that also, and it might be the case. are there usually nuts on the underside?
@Slight Adrift yeh the nuts will be on the underside.
I'm pretty excited to see the data from your electric motor it looks and sounds great!!
@@SailingBlueMoon awesome! Good to hear. Stay tuned... Am trying to get to the testing as quickly as possible to finish off the electric motor "series" but there's a bit to do beforehand. Thanks for the comments 👍
