I swear..... You get younger looking in every video.. Been watching your channel for about a year now. I just turned 51 and I've been using the Timeless products you've recomended, along with the Retin A, and I love the way my skin is looking. Thank you so much for doing what you do.🤗

So happy to have found your channel! I'm a 38 yr old former sun worshiper & I'm starting to get the fine lines & wrinkles. There are so many talented gurus on here but I just can't pull off a lot of their looks. You're just as beautiful & I look forward to watching more tutorials from you 🤗💖

So nice to finally see someone, not in their 20's review makeup!! I just watched a video on a foundation, to hide wrinkles, that was done by someone in their early 20's. Seriously, not one wrinkle. But, can't see one wrinkle on your face, either. You are gorgeous!

LOL, I know what you mean about the perfect skinned 20-somethings complaining about wrinkles!! I do have my fair share of wrinkles, but Retin-A, nice lighting and RUclips make them less visible!

Wow Angie, I just watched one of your videos from the earlier days when you were 50 immediately followed by this video and what a difference!! You look so much lovelier now! You look younger, fresher, more luminous without being shiny and well rested. Notice that I didn't say your makeup looks beautiful? It does, but it doesn't scream makeup, it looks like you, but a more beautiful you, so all the work you have done has really been working. Thanks for your videos, they are inspiring and informative and I can't tell you how much I appreciate them.

I'm 43 with combo skin and have been using 2 drug store foundations together. I don't recall if you have done reviews on them already...but thought I'd mention them. "Milani Conceal & Perfect" mixed equally with "L'Oreal True Match Lumi". It is my perfect long wear satin looking combo! I do set them with a translucent powder & Urban Decays All Nighter Setting Spray. I am menopausal (medically induced) and this is the only combo that holds up to hot flashes for me (for the most part). 😅😉

Thank you for this informative comparison. I too suffer from aging, oily, acne prone skin and the Chanel Foundation is the only one for me that lasts pretty much all day. It has been a game changer for me. Additionally it does not irritate my skin or create new breakouts with others I have tried. Thank you again for a wonderful educational video.

Recently I found out that Smashbox foundation primer-pore minimizing and L'Oreal True Match Lumi foundation gave me 14 hrs wear with the beauty blender that was one of the best I ever got! I couldn't believe it didn't go into annoying pores and wrinkles! Tried again and again, and it was the same. It is not drying, light coverage (buildable), lots of shades to choose from. And just found out that they changed the packaging and formulation a bit:(

I always figured that foundations that women in their fifties and above love must be ones that are really good in general because they can't adhere to textured patches. Thank you, Angie! Again I would like to say that navigating the choices we face when it comes to choosing makeup is overwhelming, time consuming and expensive. It's mind boggling to even know where to begin sometimes. Most purchases wind up in the bottom of a drawer. I know all of us that follow your videos appreciate you helping us to narrow down our choices. There are just too many options now. Some days i miss the tiny selection we used to have at the corner drug store.

Hi Angie! Thanks for this video. Perhaps you could make this into a short series. If you were to do a top 5 eyeshadow, you could concentrate on the formulations that look the best on mature eyelids, as opposed to color choices. How does everyone find out which products are being discontinued so quickly? I live outside the US half the year which makes keeping up to date with beauty products very difficult. Hence, I'm even more greatful for your channel!

I am sooo happy I found u! I had stopped wearing make-up a few years ago because no matter what I did, it was settling into wrinkles & pores. I'm medically retired, so I can't really afford to buy brand, after different brand, in the name of trying to find one that works (only to discover that it doesn't)! With that having been said, thank you, my dear, for trying them out for me; for spending your time, money, effort; for being so articulate & detailed; for putting so much thought into each review... and for decidedly becoming a youtube vlogger! Wanting to once again wear makeup, I am so very happy to have found you -- many thanks! -- You can consider this video upload as being "liked" by me, for sure, and subscribing all-too-happily as well! Cheers!

Hi Angie! Thanks for being the "big sister" I never had. Haha! At 44yrs old it's great to have someone to turn to for make up & skin care advice on the regular. I have yet to try your HG Chanel foundation but I will the next time I hit the stores. I was wondering if you've had a chance to try Lancome's Teint Miracle, I couldn't find it in your vlog history. I get compliments on my skin almost every time I wear it which says a lot I suppose. I hope you find time in the future for a review. Thanks & take care

enjoyed your thoughts on Mature Skin foundations. I am 69 this year, and this profile pix was last years photo..I have always had ultra dry skin, and used Merle Norman cream foundations..since I was 15!! But now that we no longer have a studio in our town, I have been using IT Cosmetics, Bye Bye Foundation and it is great! I always use Laura Gellar's Spackle under all foundation and have fallen in love!! My dry skin now at my age, is worse than ever in the winter..so this combination is good for me! Thanks! I was a cosmetologist licensed in Kansas for 30 years, so have tried GOBS :)

It also does not settle into lines or look cakey or dry. I use with the Lancome Visionaire primer. I am 51 and very oily so this was a great find for me!

I love the It Cosmetics and the Lauder Double Wear Light! To me the It Cosmetics is a little too emollient for summertime wear, but I love it in the winter, especially if I'm skiing or outside all day. I were the Lauder all.year.round. It's fantastic. I also wear the original Double Wear but sometimes have to add a drop of oil to it because it can be drying. Haven't tried the Chanel but might have to grab a sample!

Thanks for this Angie, I have learned a lot from you, I am 56 and used to have the most easy and beautiful skin, but it has changed so much. I have a really oily t zone and a lot of redness, I bought the Bye Bye Redness, which I think is incredible, and will definitely purchase the IT CC Cream. Right now I'm using a very light layer of Maybelline Matt and Poreless with the Bye Bye Redness over it and it's working very well. I did not like Matt and Poreless at first, I was trying to cover my redness and of course put too much on and it was a disaster. This combo is working though! I can't wait to see your drugstore list. Thank You for being so informative and helpful.

The Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet is also my holy grail and I have repurchased it many times.
I have found that my most favorite primer to use with it is from Nars and is their Multi-Protect Primer Broad Spectrum SPF 30. I have it on auto-replenish from their website as I can never find it in stock at Sephora or Nordstrom online (don't have local stores) when I need it.
I do not use a separate sunscreen.

Would love it if you could also mention which are cruelty free options in your videos. I know you have recommended some here like It and Too Faced, even though you haven’t referred to them as such. It would be good to inform people who perhaps aren’t aware that there are fabulous cruelty free options they can chose, and it would also make it easier for us who do only buy cruelty free but want advise from someone who can recommend products for the more mature skin.

Thanks Angie I saved your list. My skin tends to be drier now that I'm older...I'm in my 50's. I tried the new Estée Lauder Double Wear Nude and I love it except that I'm not interested in using the sponge tip but I love the formula with a primer. I used a damp beauty blender and oh my gosh it was beautiful. It's light to medium coverage. I have a sample of the Estée Lauder Perfectionist formula, SPF 25 that I'm going to try next. I'll see if that one is just as nice because you get more product and no sponge tip. Have a great day.

Violet Skye I've tried all the Estée Lauder foundations and still prefer the original Double Wear because it is transfer proof, doesn't budge, I do not need to set it with any powders. So far, it's still my HG for long days at work.

Lisa C. Hi Lisa, will that foundation work with dryer more mature skin? Also I only want light to medium coverage. I thought that one was full coverage, no? I may give that one a try too if it's age friendly and not full coverage, thanks! 😊

Violet Skye Violet, I think with a good moisturizer, it will work fine. Also, a damp beauty blender will sheer it out for you. I would say it is medium coverage but can be built up if you use a foundation brush. I'm about Angie's shade and I like the shade Rattan. It appears very yellow, initially, but it sheers out well and hides my redness. This brand had a large shade range for cool, neutral, and warm skin tones. Macy's, Nordstrom or Dillards give out generous samples to try out, first. Let us know what you think!

Lisa C. I always wanted to know if it would work for dry skin. Everyone loves it but they never had dry skin. I have to remember to get some samples.

Thank you so much Angie 😊 I do so agree with you about the little black bottle from Chanel. My favourite foundation ever!

Thank you for the list. I've been looking for foundations that don't settle in my lines. Ugh it's been so hard to find. I will try these on the list. Thanks again!

Charlotte Tilbury serum foundation works great for skin over 40! It's a bit pricey but works wonders.

Angie- Thank you so much for all your testing and advice. So appreciated! I really admire the various lipcolors you wear in your videos. Do you know your color season? (spring/summer/fall or winter?) I'm a warm spring and want to try some of your lipcolors you've sported, but not sure if they would compliment my skin tone.

Great review as always, Angie. Your videos are so relaxing to watch...and so relatable as we are the same age. (and neighbors too! I'm originally from MA and now in Southern NH) Even though my skin is dry, (even more so with the change of weather) I also love IT Cosmetics CC+ - I get the kind with the added glow. :) I feel like a Holy Grail foundation is always just within my grasp and then something ends up not quite right... one I've stuck with is Illuminaire's mineral liquid foundation...beautiful product for my skin...(I use the moisturizing formula) have you tried that one? Other foundations that are not too bad for my skin - L'Oreal Pro Glo, Bourjois Serum, Laura Mercier Candlelit Glow (very little coverage), I tried Josie Maran's Vibrancy - but even for this dry skinned gal it was a little TOO glowy! :) One I still want to try is GA's Luminous Silk. The reviews are just so good for that one. I appreciate your reviews so much and your skin look gorgeous!

Thank you for compiling this list. I'm 51 and like Lancome Renergie, IT Your Skin But Better CC Airbrush Powder, Revlon Colorstay Whipped, and Estee Lauder Doublewear. I'm starting to move away from the matte formulas and am happier with a slightly dewier formula. A recent disappointment was Too Faced Born This Way which made me look like the crypt keeper. Unlike you, I liked the Covergirl/Olay liquid foundation though I couldn't find the right shade.

Hi Angie! I was so glad when I saw this topic. I have been trying to find a good foundation for my skin, for months. I went to Sephora yesterday, and the Foundation that they suggested that I should try, was "Too Faced ~ Born This Way". I hadn't used it yet, but came across your video last night from when you tried Born This Way. I was excited to try it this morning, and I had the exact same issues with it that you did. It settled into pores and wrinkles. So funny that it caused these issues that don't look so great, but it really does have a nice look and feel to it. You had mentioned that it works pretty well with a good primer. Do you have a good primer to recommend so I can give this another try?

I REALLY enjoyed this video...I am 48 and looking to try a new foundation...I am willing to invest in a good product and this video was very well put together...definitely going for the "Holy Grail" with Chanel. Thank you much for all the good information.

I have enjoyed this video because I have been forced to look for a new foundation. I have always had very dry skin, which now, in my 50s, makes it even more important to have a great hydrating / anti-ageing+ foundation because my skin just drinks up anything I put on it. I used Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Lift and Firm for years because my skin loved the creamy texture of it. However, over a year ago I could not find the lightest shade, ivory #01, anymore. I am very fair skinned and it is difficult for me to find a good color match because of that, especially for winter months. Come to find out they had discontinued my color. I have been on a search since and all I have done is end up with a variety of different foundation that I am not as happy with. I am going to try some of these based on your evaluations of them. Thank you so much!
