I have sadly recently discovered my love for silk charmeuse. Sad because of the price, but oh my goodness I never want to take it off!! I am totally good with just steaming to disinfect and smooth my more elaborate paper cotton and silk pieces, but I will handwash all my silks. I am stuck between a more classic and minimal wardrobe as it suits my low maintenance lifestyle (in terms of fashion at least), but I have also been introduced to the wonderful, whimsical world of Selkie lol. The silk I have are the "Poet Slip Dresses" and the paper cotton pieces are the "Foxglove" and "Market Dress." They are more wearable and casual of Selkie designs in my opinion, but there are some really fun fantastical prints that I just adore. I am on the market for more dressy and cute shoes though as I made the switch to zero drop, wide toe box shoes last year for better foot health and strength. Found an article on different brands to try and many include custom leather shoes! Super interested, but as of now I mostly only wear Xeros, Tevas, my trust waterproof Birks, and nice, soft, vintage Doc Marten boots lol. Lovely video!
Excellent tips and your outfits are great. I don’t work in an office any more so it’s easier to dress casually in the summer. Footwear is always trickiest in summer for me. I’m in London and walk a lot so flimsy sandals just aren’t comfortable when you are doing 10000+ steps a day. Also in a dirty, busy city I like to have my foot a bit more protected, so finding cute, summery footwear that ticks those boxes is tricky. Espadrilles are usually my go-to. One summer accessory I like in summer, especially for travel, is a lightweight scarf or shawl. It’s good if you want to protect your shoulders from the sun, or if it gets a bit chilly. They can just be tied around your bag for a pop of color too.
You can layer in summer, actually! Lightweight shawls/scraves made of satin, organza or cotton can be a great way to add depth and texture to a summer look. They can also be worn in a variety of ways so it can also keeo your outfits interesting.
Would be a great way to layer esp for a nicer event! I think completely depends on climate and occasion - I do own a linen scarf which would work but sadly it’s too hot in my climate ☀️☀️☀️
I am new to your channel and find that your tips and perspective add detail and analysis that others don’t talk about. A lot of content creators talk about silk in the summer but you’re so right. If a persons lifestyle does not allow time for hand washing and them drying flat and later steaming that piece, it’s just not realistic as a staple piece. Loving your content. Many thanks.
I have definitely been thinking about texture in my basics thanks to you, I don't know why I was always buying plain basics and then feeling plain in my outfits 😂
Hi Helen, I would absolutely love a video about choosing good, comfy sandals for summer as a person who walks around everywhere such as yourself! I have very sensitive feet and I pretty much spend my summers either in sneakers or in pain. 🥲
Summer shoe video coming up 🥰 the only thing about shoes is that it is SO personal as foot shape/arch shape etc will make a huge difference. But I’ll do my best to share some recommendations ❤
I’m actually thinking of doing burgundy nails, bag and shoes for summer. I’m a dark winter and is one of my best colors. Plus, I think it’s similar to the deep brown. What do you think?
I love the idea! Burgundy is actually such a big trend colour for spring summer this year. Would be very beautiful against summer pieces (also amazing since you’re a dark winter 🥰)
My woven leather tote feom quince adds a layer of texture and depth to my summer outfits. And it's held up wonderfully!! Love your brown woven sandals although I'd prefer a more platform less high sandal. I'm looking for brown shoes and an everyday brown summer bag so i can match my accessories and not just wear black all the time.
Love your videos as always Helen!! The different ways to layer in summer is great :) I often wear a loose shirt open over a cropped tank top for that layered look as well.
Love your tips and definitly going to try it out :) After following you for a while i have the feeling my style improved so much and I like to dress up more and playing with my clothes .
Love your style. I was shocked when you said Sydney Australia as I’m from here but I thought you were European not that us aussies cannot be stylish. Where is your white shirt and blouse skirt from. We share a similar style and I’m also about 5 3
@ *LUYBAG* The canvas tote actually reminds me of the Hermes Garden Party too. Thanks for making this video to suggest more budget friendly alternatives. love it!
I love your videos, but pls stop lifting the bottoms, skirts time to time as it seems you do it unconsciously. It really disturbs the vibe of the video. Thanks
Love the addition of handmade items to a look, they will make it truly unique.
100% agreed. Was thinking about summer accessories and so many of them have this in common 🥰🤍
I make good use of the ‘hand wash’ setting on my washing machine… never had any problems 🎉

I love the scarf idea! I do have a linen scarf so time to try styling that in more ways 🥰

Yes, to fun colors in summer.

Such a beautiful top - the white embroidery shirt I mean. Love the pieces you choose! All so pretty.
This video gave me so many outfit ideas
Thanks for the tip. Summer just started in Canada so i need tips on my summer wardrobe
Love the white blouse you’re wearing and the gold sandals are so cute! :)
Thank you 🥰 I’ve been saving so many cute outfits with gold sandals so finally had to add them to my wardrobe 🤍
for me I just focus on texture and color. Or just like a basic fit with a fun shoe
That’s all you need for great outfits 🤍🥰

Hehe first comment🎉
Sometimes, I'm first too but I'm just so awkward to post a nice comment 😅
So "first" is helpful to me
