hey! I just got admitted and I am trying to gather as much information as possible :)) I wanted to ask if you would make the same decision again, if you could go back in time (choose Minerva again)?

Hi, did you get admitted in RD 2? Is it binding admission?

hey retie!! congratulations on getting admitted! if i had to pick a college again i would still choose minerva. it’s honestly a great (maybe the best) in terms of learning. definitely has its flaws in terms of resources, student life, and living situations. but something that minervans have that students from other schools tend to not have are friends outside of their school - we make friends absolutely everywhere and get invited to random parties, it’s pretty fun

Its a scam. Dropped out after 1 year and went to a real top international ranked . Edinburgh university. My advice is if you are paying so much and have good academics, go to a top international ranked university with leadung research, top lecturers and well respected/ known by employers.

the answer to this could be another video, fully driven by my ability to overthink, short answer is no. minerva has given me cool opportunities which i would not have if i was in a traditional college, but it has also stripped me away of other elements of the college experience.

Lol every college dorm is at minimum 70-100 students. At my university dorm, I shared the exact same bathroom situation and our kitchen had one stove. I wouldn't complain about that. That's every university.

Btw (and we can chat more because I used to live with you guys at Turk), the PR item is a common occurrence. My university that has existed for 200+ years says the same thing. The goal is mainly for you to not say something that isn't true simply because you didn't know all the details. For example, if a journalist thought somebody had been raped in a dorm and was reporting, and your friends had told you somebody had been touched without consent, you might give the journalist details that sound like they are confirming the story, whether or not they are all entirely true. The administration, who would handle the situation, would know all the correct details and legalities behind exposing this information of the victims. That's a bleak example, but similar things happened at my campus, and every university has a PR team dedicated to handling press.

welllll no other college i know of has no dining hall and a lack of kitchen space. bathroom situation is also uncommon from the colleges i’m familiar with. most schools have a bathroom stall system where people can use the sink even when the shower is occupied. i understand the PR stuff is a common occurrence, but i think no matter the institution, it needs to change. for minerva being such an innovative school, i was disappointed at how they handled the situation as the actions they took did not reflect the concerns of students.

i’m not complaining (i’m still at minerva). i just think this information - what i see as the worst/ most disappointing parts of minerva - is not readily available from the admission resources the university provides or the current available information on the internet.
