Acoustic guitar virtuoso Jon Gomm was involved in the feature and listening tests throughout the design process. Jon comments, ‘Finally, an amp that can reproduce the full spectrum of sound of acoustic instruments.’ ‘It's my voice, just louder.’ ‘All I can hear is my sound.’ Having used many different acoustic amps throughout his career Jon said, ‘Every other amp changes me, squashes me, confines me, they just can't cope. I'd given up on acoustic amps, until I heard the Sonnet.’

Jon gomms original performance of passion flower is so epic that Jon gomm can't even replicate it.
I agree
i think the best version is "Live @ Bimhuis Amsterdam"
I think that replicating the sound from the original video, when if i`m not mistaken all the other performances are live, or like in this case, a collaboration to show a new amp, will be imposible. Actually you can hear how the low tones, the guitar pedals, even the strings and the guitar (and obviosly the mix) are not the same, so i doubt that he cant replicate it, at least not without the same equipment and mix; feel more like there is just a bunch of different variables to get that astonishing sound form the original video
Not trying to replicate oneself maybe a form of self respect? But your right, they miked some amps doused in reverb and delay. Prefer the older version to. All the best for jon, hope they pay you well.
Each time he plays it I can’t tell which version is better.
It's so weird how hard they nailed the sound/mix so perfectly in the original video. This is obviously still outstandingly beautiful, but theres just something about the warmth you hear in that first famous video. So glad I've rediscovered Jon, it's been years and I needed his music tonight.
the distortion in the original was just beautiful! But still, a wonderful song by a most talented player.
So true. There are some great recordings out there, this is one, but the original mix was perfect. Warm, full, the harmonics came through real strong.. voice was set perfect in the mix.
So glad to watch this 2020 version
When you hear him tap the guitar it's like anticipating the rain singing to you. My heart is lifted. Thank you.
I'm so happy Blackstar chose Jon Gomm for this collaboration. They couldn't have chosen a better musician for a natural sounding acoustic amp. I want to get one so bad ❤❤❤ it's perfect!
I got one and it is everything I imagined it would be! I love it!
@@tzarbowlby1718 do you like vocals through it? do you think it would be ok with clean ambient electric guitar?
@@mariajanice5524 I haven’t ran an electric guitar through it yet. Vocals sound great through it though. I recommend a dynamic mic though, otherwise dialing out the noise is hard with a large cardioid
How people dislike this? WTF... Jon is a timeless genius!
no words can describe the feelings - so complicated and full
What a boss - playing, singing, percussion...all off the charts, killing it! The new amp sounds great too, will check it out.
So true, so true.
Even compared to his "older" passionflowers, THIS is pure awesomeness!
This guy is in another level, such amazing perform
Damn, that ambience, and reverb are just right.
Wow I would love to see this guy live! Incredible
I worked a festival in Ireland for a few years called B.A.R.E. In The Woods. He played there once. Great set! A total eye-opener to this style of music. Check out Michael Hedges and Andy McKee too. Very fine musicians, in a similar vein.
My sister saw him last night...that's why I'm here. She said he was stunning.
What a player! Great sounding amp too
The sound quality was so good 😍
Blackstar should be proud that Jon Gomm is using their gadget! ☺
We are incredibly proud! Jon could choose to work with any amp company so we are honored he chose Blackstar.
Great version Jon. I got the blonde one...the 120. Still waiting to gig with it...
Esse artista está em outro nível 👏👏👏👏👏.

This deserves a billion views
I'm Crying❤️ Amazing
WOW! Just bought the 60 amp and it’s incredible!!
Such a nice amp thank for guitarists and live performers. Looks like it is an almost no mixer needed. Been watching all videos of this amp available on RUclips. Would love to try one live 😎
Meu violão assiste esse vídeo quando não estou em casa.
O meu olha pra mim e pergunta "vc realmente acha que sabe me usar?" 😂😂😂😂😂

Beautiful, truly! 🖤👏
Não tenho coragem de mostrar ao meu violão esse vídeo !
Wow! Can we know more about his setup, the effects he uses and the mics he uses inside the guitar itself? Can't wait to try one of these amps :)

This is a good overview of his setup
@@mcconologue87 Already seen it :) I wanted to know if he upgraded with the new guitar!
Just bought one of these amps. Very impressed - but can't play like Jon yet. Should I get a refund??
Too bad I can't like the song 100x in the first 10 seconds...wow! My ears HEARD! I love it. My soul is smiling. 🥰 still like the original too.
Who had the balls to dislike this has NO soul at all.
wut?
👍🔥🎸🦅
Passionflower or the impossible. Which is harder
Jon Gomm plays Passionflower to a theater of ghosts. It’s a shame you can’t hear them cheering, they definitely were
The best place to play this song is in a wooden room, cause you can hear any note and harmonic!
Well idk that jonn has turn into ultraman nowdays Lol
6:11 - 6:17 UGH
Whats the tuning? Its sounding like e flat. But im unsure lmao.
I feel the mids and trebles aren't as pronounced as they should be in this version.
Recording in a "theatre" in a "theatre"
Is this supposed to be an advert for the amp?! It sounds terrible compared to the original live recording that's on RUclips. It's muddy, drenched in WAY too much reverb, and with certain frequencies almost inaudible? The balance is awful. Wow, if this is the best the Sonnet 60 can do, count me out 👍
I hope the cameraman is unemployed now... this isn't The Office. It's a slow, emotional melody. Why all the stupid jitters?!
It must suck to play a song over and over again. The true definition of insanity.
For all the bragging in the description of these amps being some new coming for acoustic guitars, I wasn't very impressed by may of the low ranges. Especially when he is tapping some of the lower notes, they sound quite thin and weak (they weren't so bad when they were plucked). Perhaps this was intentional, but I much prefer the strong bass you hear in some of Jon's other videos. This song is beautiful and thoughtful, but at the end of the day most of this video is an ad, and it didn't do very well IMO. Jon Gomm did amazing of course tho. Couldn't find a better showman for this kind of performance in another 100 years.
