I’m aware that this is an older video, but I’m doing an Erin binge and felt the need to share my opinion- 4:25 The Caron Cloud Cakes are STUNNING! Definitely one of my favourite yarns ever. They are actually *still* releasing new colours, some of which have the more mottled/speckle effect, with others being quite smoothly dyed. I can totally agree with the frogging; sometimes it’s silky, sometimes the fibres get caught and rip. Although, that shouldn’t deter anyone! This yarn is gorgeous for everything from specialty amigurumi to scarves and even throws. Note that I would be careful throwing it in the dryer…. It won’t melt or catch fire, but it may get less soft as you wash and dry frequently. Can’t wait for some more spring yarn vids!! ☁️💕
I made your raglan sweater with the loops and threads mixed up!! It definitely makes me look like a dr. Seuss character with how stripey and fuzzy it is, but it was pretty easy to use. Noteworthy: the different strands are connected by wrapping around each other and being sewed which I haven’t seen before. Didn’t impact the project tho
Just a heads up for folks who don't know, acrylic yarn does NOT felt the same way wool does. You cannot just throw it in the wash. You have to put a lot of work in to make it felt and it does not shrink like wool. I learned the hard way 😂 I tried felting with an 50/50 acrylic/wool blend and it didn't work at alllll
The colours are so pretty, but I wish US stores would offer more wool options from a sustainability, environmental, comfort and warmth perspective. The colours are still gorgeous though. Thanks for sharing!❤
I’m in love with the Loops and Thread Mixed Up. I’m making a hexagon sweater with the lighter blue and a shrug with the dusty pink. It’s so soft and warm. I’m wanting to buy the golden yellow one next to make a star blanket😭🫶🏼 like just take my money loops and threads
I got the green macchiato cake and I love how unique it is. It’s definitely closer to a 4 than a 5 because I made a sweater vest and it ended up way lighter and mesh like (I don’t hate it though). I personally didn’t notice a ton of shedding although a few strands did end up in my mouth lol. I think the mixed up is my new favorite yarn. It’s soooo pretty 😢 I haven’t used it yet because most of it is at my sisters because I was unable to bring it home. Lucky me though I did end up with some extra free yarn because Michael’s sent me the wrong items at first (yay me) Edit!: My only complaint with the mixed up yarn is that I wish the variations were random and not blocked/striped. I’m sooo bored of self striping yarns. I’m a tad bit disappointed
Macchiato is def my fav newest yarn!! It’s weirdly a thick and thin, like some parts are suuuper thin and some are chunky, not see a fiber like this in michaels in so long!! 💖
As always love your videos Erin! The tunisian sweater already looks so good!😊 It would be wonderful if you could have a pattern for it, unfortunately Tunisian crochet doesn't offer à wide variety of patterns
