I like playing Mythra The Thunder vassal as it gives you a body to use as a tribute, gives you an additional summon and also puts a body on your opponent’s board which can prevent them from using something like imperm since they’ll have a body off of Mythra effect.

I saw you discussing that "spell card: soul exchange" can be gimmicky. I believe that it can be a solid addition tot he deck. The card gives you an additional tribute summon, and you can use your monsters going first. Imagine edea getting stopped, you can use the spell to go off anyway. Going second you use it alongside stormforth. 2 tribute summons using only opponent's cards seems good.

So one thing I’ve been also trying out for my monarch build is throwing in a copy of magician’s soul and illusion that way I can then have a free body and if I need to get rid of my s/t that I don’t need, I can send them to the gy to draw. I also run two clockwork nights so it can beef up my vanitys and disrupt my opponent’s board especially if they are running a one type. Plants, warriors, fiends, etc.
The moment Master Duel's story mode made me play Monarchs I immediately fell in love with the archetype, but man does it feel like Konami stopped the deck in half for no reason. Shadowfire not triggering any of the Monarch spells besides Stormfront, the vassals not being searcher for their respective Monarchs or even Mega Monarchs, so weird.
They still curbstomped the metagame the format the structure deck came out. Its the reason they limited pantheism and i think 2 others for awhile. You could get a great meta / anti-meta deck for $31 (the extra dollar being majesty's fiend)
Hey Lithium! Tribute Burial might be an option if you think about Vanitys Ruler. It's a pretty interesting card for Monarchs, but it might f you up a bit going 1dt or if you're not concious about the special summon lock for you
In decks like these, where keeping a floodgate on the field (Like a Fiend) is so important I always wonder about playing 3 Runick Slumber. If your opponent makes a monster to beat over a tribute summoned monster, you can just chain slumber. Also seems good against some fire king cards if they try to destroy one of their own cards.
What about Triple Tactics Talent when you go second ? Or even main it instead of upstart ? Like One Triple Tactics Talent instead of one upstart? Anyway good decklist, what are your thoughts about the deck after the april banlist ? Engage and thunder seems threatening
My friend is known at our locals for being "that bitch who plays kashtira monarchs" and it's funny that he loves playing terrible/rogue decks and doing alright but once he gets his hands on a meta deck it's crazy
This will be a tough format for Monarch. Fire King is a really difficult match-up and Silencforce can blown up the lock. For quite some time, i do think Majesty is not a great tool anymore. Yes, it locks the effects of monsters, but, for at least 2022, there is a match-up where the opponent can make a big monster and destroy him in battle (branded, kash, horus,...). Vanity, i think, becomes better as formats flies (imperm was always a thing, but trap decks don't seem to play skill drain anymore, and lab has a lot of difficulty to play wihout the welcomes traps). Stormforth is also not in a bad spot right now. It's strange, but there is not a lot of omni-negates of spell negates (especially fire king, wich prefer to negate effect monsters, even with a card like rangbali). And, with druis and the bystials, you could play against a lot of decks (branded, diabell, lab, sp, purrely, spright,... Dark is the second attribute after Fire this format). I think of a variant with lubellion and branded regained, wich is a great card against every deck. But, i think this is a tough spot for Monarch. Eight years, and the deck only receives a bad support as the Shadow Firestorm Monarch and Morganite. I hope the quater century of this game will gave to us something more decent for this deck. Also, thank you for making these videos. It's always great to see a duelist playing and making his favorite deck evolve years after years, formats after formats.

Also since the Kashtira cards are great going 2nd, specifically Fenrir, have you thought about potentially adding in 1 copy of Pressured Planet Wraitsoth and a copy of Terraforming in the deck? Maybe it could replace the Upstart Goblins, be 2 more copies of a going 2nd card, and potentially a 4th copy of Domain? 🤔Just theorizing 😄
some of the kashtira monster cards have been limited in masterduel, is this type of kashtira/monarch deck combo viable for early ranked and are there suitable substitutes because of this?
You ever thought of playing small world with Thestalos? It seems pretty okay if you’re playing Edea or Eidos as a bridge for the squires or Erebus and Ehther. You just won’t have as much space for non engine which seems pretty important
i know this might be weird idea but... what if u play this monarchs build in the next CBC? I mean, we've seen non-top tier decks in previous editions of the series like 2020 Gladiator Beast or Madolche, and also Monarchs always do really well considering its a deck from 8 years ago so... maybe with modern tools the deck might surprise us.
Have you tested a snake eye monarch variant? Edea special summons snake eye ash from deck which very well might be the best tribute fodder outside of kashtira monsters
I love me some Upstart Hobans , but I don't like it this format as Droll is being heavily played, even in the main deck. I would just replace them for some other tech option. My build looks very similar otherwise.
It’s close to being a stun variant, you might have to run anti-spell fragrance or magic deflector in this variant, and at this point you’ll have to run vanity’s ruler and D.D. Crow, I understand you don’t use hand traps for consistency reasons but the format is way to consistent and fast past
As a new YGO player, I quicky used to play monarch only, as I am passioned by what these being are and represent. But is this that difficult to use every other Monarch in a deck?
i play monarchs but for this deck list, my wallets really hurts, so instead of using the fenrir and unicorn, I only use ogre, that is actually really good in some situations, I also play morganite and even Infernal queen salmon, and with all of that, I actually win one round against an snake eyes deck, I also won against an Orcust deck.
Question for you since fenrir is still a 17$, which was the price last time I checked, any substitutes if we can’t get our hands on them? I am trying to get back into the game and this is the first deck I want to upgrade/ update but fenrir is going to be hard to get three of
I think Imsety works better instead of the unicorns and kings sarcophagus instead of kash spells. Easy way for a 3k monster on your field, extra draw, and a good way to send opponent monsters to grave.
Domain Monarch with Diabolos and tribute traps is a sleeper deck, dont know why its being ignored, theres so much you can do if you mess up someone's combo completely with a tribute trap.
Question from a casual Monarch enjoyer: What is the viability of Escalation or Erupt? I feel like the former could have solid utility (alongside Return) to have the deck act like a proper toolbox while Erupt is a solid floodgate, then swap Ancha for Proof of Prufflas or similar to compensate. For the diabellstar matchup for majesty fiend you could run forbidden Lance for damage step just fyi or droplets lmk ty

Pianissimo can protect it entire turn but it will be a punchbag
Decisive battle can also substitute destroy once per copy but you need to run some Albaz Fusions

Have you tried considering cards like: Tenmataitei, delg, angmarl, jinzo, mega-zaborg, mega-thestalos, mega-caius, jester confit, vanity's ruler, kuraz, card advance, royal decree?
Correct me if I’m wrong, but if the pendulum is tributed, doesn’t it go into the extra deck thus making domain null?

Monarchs in general have a problem with bricking a lot of the time, as sad as it is
Using escalation and stormforth is good to rid some of the firekings and dont loss the lock i guess
